Stitch Fix Plus May 2018 Box 0001 box

Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you initially sign up, you take an in-depth survey that asks you about your clothing size, personal style, and price preferences. Your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences within the survey. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping as well as free returns. If you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!

Stitch Fix Plus May 2018 Box 0005 receipt

This is the invoice that was included. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece.  The total comes up to $178 after all the discounts if I opt to keep everything—which is a $86 total savings! That is $2 short of getting the City Chic shorts and August Mist bodysuit for free!

Stitch Fix Plus May 2018 Box 0006 stylist sheet

As always, this handy sheet with a sweet note from my stylist, Candace, was included. I always appreciate the styling tips: they are so useful and inspiring! Candace is consistently thoughtful in her selections and uses my Pinterest to help her in styling me each and every month. Her selections always feel so personalized to my style!

Crissie Dress in Orange Red by Market & Spruce, Size 22W - Cost to Keep $68

I rarely wear pieces with thin spaghetti straps since I despise strapless bras, but exceptions can always be made! This dress has a slip style design with scallop detailing on the chest and pockets--- YES, THIS DRESS HAS POCKETS! My favorite detail is the cut out above the lower back. The fabric has some stretch, especially in the back where an elastic strip is. It is an incredibly flirty, but sensible dress! I can see wearing this to a wedding or a summer dinner date. I styled this gorgeous coral/orange number with all gold accessories to bring out the vibrant warmth of this piece.

Tova Tassel Stone Drop Earrings by Kevia - Cost to Keep $34

I am a fan of tassel earrings, but these marble crescent style ones take the cake! These are perfect for the summer but can be worn year long. The earrings’ hardware is a gorgeous aged gold. The metal is rather lightweight and won’t put a strain on your earlobes. These earrings will complete any outfit, whether it be a casual or formal ensemble!

Kalani Lace Knit Bodysuit - Cost to Keep $30

I love wearing my tops tucked in, but you can run the risk of bumps and lumps if not tucked in just so. No fear, bodacious babes--- bodysuits fix this problem! I have a few already because I absolutely love how smooth they look and there is no fear of a ride up/unwanted undies exposure! Sure, the trip to the bathroom while wearing a bodysuit can be annoying and rather tedious, but it is worth it for the flawless look a bodysuit provides. This bodysuit is tank top style and is made from a textured, lace fabric. This piece would work fantastically with a blazer and pencil skirt in the office or your favorite pair of shorts and wooden clog heels for a night on the town!

Pamela Printed Short by City Chic, Size 22W - Cost to Keep $58

I wanted to love these shorts, but sadly, I can’t say I fell for them. They were so baggy and loose on me that I found them to be slightly uncomfortable. The ruffle detail is a cute touch to these classic black and white plaid shorts. These would pair great with a crop top and high heel platforms for a flirty look or with a tank top and jean jacket on cooler summer evenings.

Milo Textured Dress by Renee C, Size 3x - Cost to Keep $74

This was my photographer’s (aka my mom) favorite piece Candace sent me for this month’s Stitch Fix. I can see why! This dress has a classic style; I could see Jackie O’ wearing this with heels, a pillbox hat, and gloves. The cut of this A-Line dress is incredibly flattering. The fabric is a bit thick, yet has ample stretch. This dress is gorgeous, but the color and pattern were a bit too demure for me. I opted to wear this piece with my favorite Natural Soul heels for a casual, yet snazzy ensemble. This dress is ideal for any wedding or graduation party you may be attending this season! You can wear this alone, or pair with a navy jacket and had a floral scarf for a vivaciously snazzy touch!

Verdict: This month’s box was full of adorable items, but some didn’t necessarily seem to fit my style profile. I can’t complain, though, because Candace generally sends me boxes that are impossible not to keep--- her selections are immensely personalized to my style. My favorite pieces this month were the Crissie dress, Kevia earrings, and August Mist bodysuit. The shorts and Renee C dress were fantastic pieces, but not necessarily for me. I always take advantage of communicating with my stylist and she always takes my feedback to heart in her selections. I am a broken record, but I cannot stress the importance of using Pinterest for any clothing box subscription. Providing that vision board is a great help in conveying your preferences to your stylist!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $264. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $178 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s almost a 32% discount!

Loved the Orange dress on you, and the body suit was a great deal and was very flattering. I agree with the shorts looking weirdly sloppy and unflattering to your body, and the last dress seemed a little plain for you, classic but plain. Not a fan of Tassles but if you like them, rock em. The Orange dress though, stunning and could easily be dressed up or down. Hope you kept it

Love the bodysuit and the first dress. Maybe it’s time I looked at bodysuits again ….I wore them in the 90s but haven’t touched them since then. Your look is giving me ideas though!
