Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Orglamix April 2018 “Palm Beach” Review

This month’s theme is “Palm Beach.” I have actually spent a lot of time in Palm Beach (worked in West Palm Beach one summer in college and got put up at the Breakers hotel for like two months by my employer, which was pretty nice) and I’m not sure how these items tie specifically to that area, but they are all tropical, anyway.

The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for April.

Watermelon Micellar Makeup Remover Pads

Watermelon Micellar Makeup Remover Pads – Listed Value $15

Well, I tried these out yesterday because I ran out of my usual dual-phase makeup remover and let me say two things: (1) I do not recommend these for use in the eye area and (2) they are pretty great for removing stubborn lip colors. (They have a rough texture not suitable for delicate areas, and the liquid on them burned my eyes a little too. But the rough texture is great for the lips, I’ve been wearing a lot of lip stains lately.)

Pina Colada Lip Scrub – Listed Value $9

How convenient, I seem to have lost all my lip scrubs in the mess that is my master bathroom, and I needed one due to wearing all the aforementioned lip stains (I got Invisalign and I don’t want to get lipstick all over my face taking the trays out to eat, but I don’t have problems when using lip stains). This helps get those last little traces of stain off (or is just generally good when you have rough skin on your lips) and it smells like something I want to eat.

Bonfire Beach Solid Perfume – Listed Value $9

Orglamix nearly always sends a fragrance product and they make some really nice solid perfumes. This one has notes that are largely invented, I think (white flint sandalwood, salty sea air, ocean spray) but at the same time, the scent name is actually a really good description for the combination you get out of those notes.

Nudist Instant Glow Luminizer

Nudist Instant Glow Luminizer – Listed Value $18

Although there are some other luminizers for sale on the Orglamix site, this particular color is not listed there. (The value from the information card is consistent with the prices of those items, though.) I am not actually tired of getting highlighters yet (I have pared down my beauty boxes considerably) and this one is nice and subtle, but buildable if you are looking for something a little more dramatic.

Pink Flamingo Lip + Cheek Gelee – Listed Value $18

The value of this item is consistent with the other Orglamix Lip + Cheek Gelees, though this shade is exclusive to the subscription box. I often find that, with dual-use products, they work better for either lips or cheeks for me, and not both. Well, you all have seen how pale I am, and there is no way I can pull this off as a cheek color. But I love bold lip colors. (I prefer applying this with a brush because this color is bright enough that I don’t really want it on my fingers.) This is a product type that shows up every now and then with this subscription.

Here are swatches of the luminizer and lip + cheek gelee.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $69 for the April Orglamix subscription box. The items this month were all exclusive for this box, so I had to rely a lot on the information card, but I think the values were at least consistent with similar items in the shop. As I mentioned, I have been wearing a lot of lip stains lately, and this box contains two items that really help get those off and condition the lips, so I am definitely happy about that. But this month, actually, everything worked for me in one way or another, and the tropical theme was fun.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, this was April box and they typically ship around the 10th, so you’d most likely get the June box as your first one.

Coupon - For a limited time, use code MOMSDAY to save 18% off on any subscription for life! Or, use code SA30 to save 30% off your first box.

Value Breakdown: At $29 per box, here’s approximately what you are paying per item:

  • Makeup remover pads $6.30
  • Lip scrub $3.78
  • Solid perfume $3.78
  • Luminizer $7.57
  • Lip + cheek gelee $7.57

I subscribed in early April and its set to renew this week before I received my first box soI cancelled. That should never happen.

This is one of my favorite subs and I just love the packaging. The shipping, however, is another story. I don’t remember the last time that it actually was sent out on the 10th and I received this April Box in May. It would be nice to receive notification when the shipping will be delayed.

There have definitely been some ups and downs with the shipping. This one had a shipping label generated April 30 but I didn’t know if that was when they sent every box or if I got mine later since I am reviewing it (as opposed to being a regular subscriber — some boxes wait to send to reviewers until they are sure all regular customers are taken care of). Sounds like all of them came out late in this case, though.

My box also shipped on the 30th. I actually emailed a day or two prior, mostly because I couldn’t access my account, but I did ask them if they had shipped April’s box yet. I honestly couldn’t remember if I had received it and if I just forgot about it, but they got back to me fairly quickly and said they had issues with having enough packing materials which caused the delay in shipping. I have a 6-month subscription, and every month they’ve shipped my box out the final days of the month. Since this is typical for me, I don’t mind… just as long as I get an email by the final day of the month stating my box has shipped or there’s a delay… anything to keep me in the loop.

Wow – awesome box. Bummer it’s not available anymore. Thanks for the review!
