Love with Food Tasting Box April 2018 Review

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - coupon 2

April's theme is “Transform.” A wonderful way to describe everything that happens when the season changes from winter into the fresh spring!

This box also came with a coupon to Wayfair!

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - caramel Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - caramel open

Avenue Sweets Apple Caramel - Buy an 8 oz. bag for $9.95

Caramels were a treat that I never enjoyed as a kid, but one that I really appreciate as an adult. This caramel was perfectly sweet with a tart flavor from the apple. This treat melted in my mouth, but receiving one left me wanting more. I could use a whole box of these!

Torie & Howard Fruitie Chewies, 4 oz. - Retail Value $2.97

I've received these fruit chewies a few times. While they are delicious, they aren't really a sweet treat that I turn to when I am craving something sweet so I usually send these to work with my husband. The bag is really big so you get a ton of chewies, making it great for sharing! This variety pack is filled with so many juices flavors that are so sweet and extra chewy.

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - cookie thins Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - cookie thins open

Mrs. Thinster's Chocolate Chip Cookie Thins, 1.5 oz. - Buy a 4 oz bag for $2.99

These cookie chips are nut free, made with no artificial ingredients or corn syrup, and a non-GMO product. The cookies have a nice sweetness to it. Each cookie is super thin and packs a huge crunch similar to a chip. I typically like my cookies fluffy and soft so these weren't my favorite, but my husband really loved these!

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - jana banana Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - jana banana open

JanaBanana Banana Bar with Peanut Butter, 1.34 oz. - Buy a pack of 12 for $13.90

This bar is vegan, paleo, non-GMO, and gluten-free! I loved this snack so much, my husband and I fought over who got to finish it. I might need to order a box for us that's how much we loved it! The ingredients taste extremely fresh and there is a natural sweetness. This reminded me of freshly baked banana bread, I could not get enough!

TRUWOMEN Protein Bar, 1.69 oz. – Buy a box of 12 for $33.48

This is a plant-filled protein bar providing you with 12 grams of protein! This is perfect to eat on the go or as a quick afternoon snack when you are in need of a healthy energy boost. The bar I received this month is peanut butter cup! I love chocolate and peanut butter together and this bar did not disappoint. The chocolate had a very light sweetness and the peanut butter was so creamy. I ate this for breakfast and loved having a filling snack that was also sweet.

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - oyster crackers Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - oyster crackers open

Westminster Cracker Co. Oyster Crackers - Buy a 9 oz. bag for $5.40

I must say, I am a little confused by this being included as a snack. I really only ever use oyster crackers in my soup, but I have never turned to them to eat on their own. I decided to give these to my son as a quick snack on the go.

Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - popped chickpeas Love with Food Tasting April 2018 - popped chickpeas open

Watusee Foods Popped Chickpeatos Caramel Sea Salt - Buy a box of 8, 4 oz. bags for $53.06

This was another snack that I didn't love. The chickpea puffs are always a favorite of mine, but I did not enjoy the caramel sea salt flavor that was featured in this bag. The mix of the chickpea flavor with the caramel and extra sea salt were just a bit too much, and the flavors didn't mix that well together in my opinion. I would normally pass snacks that I don't love to my husband, but he didn't enjoy them either, I think the caramel really threw us both off.

This item was also sent in April's Deluxe Box.

The Verdict: Love with Food Tasting is always a great way to be introduced to new snacks and brands that you might not find at your local grocery store. While I wasn't in love with this month's curation, I really enjoyed seeing some familiar treats and new flavors of familiar brands. The great part about this box is that each snack is usually big enough to share with someone so I can always pass something along to my family or a friend if I come across something I don't love.

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? If you order today, you will receive the May box.

Limited Time Deal: Now through 6/30, use this link to get a FREE $20-value bonus box with any subscription of 6-months or longer, plus use coupon code SASS18 to save an additional $10 off their Tasting, Gluten Free or Deluxe plans.

Value Breakdown: This box is $9.99 a month with free shipping. I received a total of 7 snacks which averages out to $1.43 per snack.

they have a really good deal on living social right now! I do enjoy this box although I wish they’d offer a better variety of snacks on the point redemption area. Every time I go to redeem points most of the good stuff is sold out. I end up with something like sugar packets or crackers… lol

Thanks for the tip about Living Social. It looks like they have quite a variety of interesting subscription box offers! Will have to do the math to account for fees and/or per box shipping charges before ordering though.

I just got my first Love with Food box about a week ago, the May THRIVE tasting box. 🙂 There were a couple hits (dried cherries, vanilla rice crispy bar) and a number of misses (thick pea-soup tasting mocha powder, sticky/flavorless salt water taffy, etc.) like the concept though, and I paid for a six month sub so I will see what is in my next box. I love having snacks on hand!

The site lets you review each snack as well as the box as a whole, too, so that was neat. You get points for reviews which apparently you can redeem for more snacks (or even a whole free box!) I think I might have to pay shipping if I do that, though.

I find the key with most protein powders is to put them in smoothies instead of trying to drink them straight. You get a bit of a nutritional boost and the texture doesn’t matter as much.
