Dia & Co. is a monthly plus size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 20% discount is applied if I choose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co. may be entirely different than mine!

Dia & Co. April 2018 Review

Here is that fashionable Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month!

Also enclosed in this adorable envelope is a note from my stylist, Natalie, telling me why she selected the pieces she did for me along with some helpful styling tips.

The other form is an invoice. Mine this month is blank, but I got a copy sent via email to provide the prices for each item. Generally, the invoice has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item my stylist selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off ( if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. The total for the pieces came up to $368, but after $20 off and 25% adjustment is applied the balance would be $261. That means the savings would be $107 if I did decide to keep everything! That isn’t too shabby! That would be like getting the Rebel Wilson X Angels blazer for free!

Amalie Handkerchief Hem Top by Rachel by Rachel Roy

Amalie Handkerchief Hem Top by Rachel by Rachel Roy, Size 2x — Retail Value $62

I won’t lie, I was a tad put off by this shirt when I initially unpacked this month’s Dia & Co box. The pattern and the color aren’t my favorite. Recently, I have been sent an influx of asymmetrical, cold shoulder top variations. This top is made of a slinky, stretchy material and is far more flattering on than I imagined it to be. I prefer it tucked in because the length is longer than I prefer. I styled the top with a black pencil skirt, thick Peg Bundy belt, earrings from Jewelry Subscription (review coming soon!), and my new favorite open-toed shoes!  This would look great with high waist shorts and open-toed platform shoes for a summer disco queen look!

Elsa Blazer by Rebel Wilson X Angels

Elsa Blazer by Rebel Wilson X Angels—Retail Value $99

This may be my least favorite of this month’s selections. I work in an office, but I never wear blazers. Trust me, I have tried to make blazers work on these broad shoulders for years, but I come off like a sloppy Angela from Who’s the Boss?. This blazer is a tad oversized and boxy on me. Plus, the color blends in with my pale skin tone and is just eh. The fabric is a knit cotton with ample stretch and the inside has a silky shell lining. The barbell cuffs are a nice modern touch, but ultimately this jacket fell flat for me. I can imagine this looking fantastic on someone less fair than myself. I envision this being styled fantastically with black, high waist, jeans along with pointy heels, a pussybow accent top, and tassel earrings for some extra sass.

Ivy V-Neck Front Pleat Tank by East Adeline

Ivy V-Neck Front Pleat Tank by East Adeline, Size 2x - Retail Value $59

I love the in-house brand, East Adeline, from Dia & Co and was pleased to receive another item from their latest line this month. I have reviewed their pieces in past boxes, the most recent being my December review. Most of the line’s pieces are standout vintage styles meet modern cuts and fabrics. This top definitely has a retro and classic design, but this piece isn’t as exciting as other ones I have reviewed. I do love that a top like this one will get lots of wear which makes it a  great value. I styled this piece with a black pencil skirt and the Rebel Wilson X blazer included as well, but I can see this also being paired with red skinny leg pants and strappy black heels for a sultry vixen outfit. This top would also look gorgeous with capri pants, ballet flats, and a denim jacket for an easy breezy weekend errand running ensemble.

Freesia Knit Pencil Skirt by In Every Story

Freesia Knit Pencil Skirt by In Every Story, Size 22 — Retail Value $50

My stylist, Natalie P, is aware of my love for pencil skirts, so I am not surprised this was selected for me! This piece is incredibly versatile due to it being a black and white skirt. This could be worn with a variety of different colored t-shirts for a casual look, a white button-down and heels for the office, or even a denim button down and black block heeled Mary Janes for a mix of the two! The skirt is made from a stretchy neoprene-like fabric, but the skirt is a slight bit too big on me. I would be curious to try the 20 to see the fit. I styled the skirt with my favorite black lattice jellies, a black scoop neck quarter length sleeve top, and a fantastic necklace from Jewelry Subscription (review coming soon!).

Orchard Ankle Skinny Jean in Magenta by Warp + Weft

Orchard Ankle Skinny Jean in Magenta by Warp + Weft, Size 22 - Retail Value $78

I am surprised to say these pants were my favorite item sent to me from Natalie P! I am typically not a fan of purples and magenta shades and usually wear dark blue or black denim, but I LOVED these! Unlike the lavender pants I received in my recent Trunk Club, these fit like a dream! This pair of pants’ cut is absolutely fantastic and the fabric’s stretch allows them to fit e like a vintage style cigarette pant! I took inspiration from my friend Rosy (see ya in a month, baby doll!). Her style also is vintage/retro inspired and she often wears similar-styled pants; plus she has a knack for pairing creating unlikely color combos that look stunning.  She consistently looks flawless. We both have similar gold metallic sweaters, so I opted to style the sweater and magenta jeans combo with two different pairs of shoes: gold metallic flats and leopard glitter bangles from my April Pinup in a Pack box for look #1 and for look #2 leopard loafers. These pants would also look adorable with a sleeveless denim button-down tied at the waist and ballet flats for an adorable, yet casual ensemble!

Verdict: This month’s Dia & Co didn’t feel as personalized to my style as others I have received in the past. My favorite item, by a landslide, was the magenta skinny jeans; I am still rather impressed by their flattering cut and style! I liked the East Adeline top and In Every Story skirt, but I wasn’t blown away by them. The Rebel Wilson and Rachel Roy items were cute but just didn’t feel like they were selected for me. I included a lot of feedback and my Pinterest link, so I am excited to see what Natalie chooses for me in May! That is the beauty of Dia & Co, you can provide feedback and work with stylists to get a better-suited box next time. Plus, I also love that they offer exclusive lines like East Adeline! It is a feature that makes the service even more worthwhile!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Dia & Co curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $348. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $246 for the whole box. Ultimately, that is over a 29% discount.

I just got my first Dia&Co box and all the clothes except a pair of Jean shorts where synthetic material, and had a sleazy feel. And nothing was less tha $60! I’ll keep the shorts to get my $20 back (they were $69!)and I can wear the, on the windjammer cruise I am doing this summer. Overall I was really disappponted In the quality of the stuff for their high prices.

DONE WITH DIA! In my opinion, the “stylist” did not adhere to my likes in clothing. I ended up keeping a pair of jeans after 5 boxes were sent, and now I have canceled. What they do not disclose when you get your receipt after returning each box of clothes, that they charge your credit card a $20 styling fee. So, I’m out $60, when I disputed it, they said it’s in their FAQ’s page…

I finally dropped Dia after my most recent box. You always look so cute in your clothes and it seems that your stylist actually reads & takes into account your feedback. I kept getting clothes that didn’t fit with my questionnaire, Pinterest boards, or feedback on prior boxes. I finally decided even $20 was too much for boxes that I sent most or all back.

Nicole, I’m always curious if you end up keeping any of the pieces! Did you keep the pants?

Kelly, I was tempted to, but passed. The last thing I kept was from my last Stitch Fix box. That review should be up tomorrow, I believe! 😊

I always think, “She can’t possibly keep everything” even tho so much on you is perfection. You would be swimming in clothes,,,would there be a closet big enough. The freesia knit pencil skirt with the blouse and necklace is fantastic..dressy and classic.

Liz Cadman

I love that first top styled with the black pencil skirt! You made it look SO chic! And as always – you are stunning! 🙂
