Cricket Crate April 2018 Review

Cricket Crate April 2018 - Cricket Magazine Cricket Crate April 2018 - Cricket Magazine 2

Each month you will receive a Cricket Wonder magazine. This goes over what the main theme of the month is and how that ties back to the project. This month is all ocean games and sorting with your toddler. There are extra sections that show you to help your little one compare and contrast using a book and a science process area.

Next, I received this little information card that goes over everything in the box. It takes you through how to play with the ocean sort and the sea creatures activity. This is extremely helpful because it shows you multiple ways to have your little one interact with each activity.

Ocean Sort

This little ocean sort is the cutest toy I have ever seen! The wooden fishing rod allows your little one to "fish" out each piece from the little ocean. Since the theme this month is all about sorting, you can start by sorting by color and then by the animal as a more advanced way to play. My son was beyond obsessed with this activity set! He loved playing to select the color and then by the animal and was always so surprised when he was able to fish out the animal. He kept yelling, "I'm a fisherman!"

Sea Creatures Activity

The next activity was more of a craft, which I loved! We will usually have craft time after nap as a nice calming way to wake up so I was excited to receive this. We started by identifying the sea creatures, and then we decided to sort each of the colors before diving in. All you have to do is take off the white sticker and put the pieces of paper down.

Here is the finished product! What we were left with were these beautiful multi-colored sea creatures. I might hang this on a window to let the light shine through them like stain glass. My son had a blast building these and naming each of the colored pieces of paper.

Crickets Search for Shells - Listed Value $6.95

Each month you can expect to receive a Cricket board book. In this month's book, Cricket goes fishing just like we got to do with this month's activity. We are going to the beach this summer so this was a fun book to read and see everything that we might run across on vacation.

Cricket Crate April 2018 - Sharing A Story

As we read in our monthly Cricket magazine, this month is also about learning how to compare and contrast through books! We read so many books throughout the day that I often forget to slow down and ask questions about what he is seeing while we read. This card is extremely helpful to remind me of ways to engage.

Verdict: Another amazing Cricket Crate! The ocean sorting set was a big hit with my son, so much that it is still sitting out in our living room so that he can play with it whenever. He has such a love of animals that I'm always very happy when boxes come with animal-themed products. At $19.95 a month, plus free shipping, we received two activities and a book. Plus, I received the monthly Cricket magazine and compare and contrast information card. What an incredible value!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but it's likely you will receive the May box. From KiwiCo:

Crates are assigned each month based on availability and your crate history - not all subscribers receive the same theme each month.

Loved this box, and like yours, my kids have been so enthralled with this toy. We have our turtle and fish on our sliding doors and my four year old is always pointing them out. Such a great value in my opinion.
