Sephora Favorites LashStash To Go Review

The box these mascaras come in opens up to give you more details on each mascara.

Bobbi Brown Eye-Opening Mascara in black, .17 oz

Bobbi Brown Eye-Opening Mascara in black, .17 oz - Estimated Value $12.14 (buy the full-sized version for $30)

I consider my lashes to be naturally pretty long, so what I look for in a mascara is volume and curl without clumps. This mascara checks those boxes perfectly, and I love the carbon-black color that really makes my eyes pop.

Here is one eye done with a coat of the Bobbi Brown mascara, and one naked eye.

Here is what the mascara looks likes on both eyes (Psst- All of the lip colors I’m wearing in the finished looks are from the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Kit, and you can check out my review here).

IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara in Super Black, .17 oz

IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara in Super Black, .17 oz - Estimated Value $13.60 (buy the full-sized version for $24)

I don't have much experience with IT cosmetics outside of their moisturizers, so I didn't really expect much from this mascara. I was pleasantly surprised, however, after I applied it. I felt like it really enhanced my natural length while providing good curl, and it was comfortable to wear. No clumping issues with this one, either.

Here is the one eye comparison.

And here is the finished look.

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Big Volume All Day Wear in 01 Big Is The New Black, .06 oz

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Big Volume All Day Wear in 01 Big Is The New Black, .06 oz - Estimated Value $4.55 (buy the full-sized version for $25)

This is a relatively new release from Lancome, and it is one I haven't tried yet. This really gave me that volume I crave from a mascara, but I did have to be a bit more careful to avoid clumping. Overall, this is a winner. I am not surprised, however, because I love almost all of the mascaras Lancome offers.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara in black, .13 oz - Estimated Value $11.07

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara in black, .13 oz - Estimated Value $11.07 (buy the full-sized version for $23)

Better Than Sex is one of the most well-known mascaras in the beauty world. It has a cult following, and for a good reason! The hourglass-shaped brush really helps with curl and volume, and this waterproof formula means I can look fab at a pool party without worrying about becoming a raccoon. I would recommend using a strong makeup remover, however, so you're not tugging at your lashes for five minutes—I used this one and had no issues.

Here is the one eye comparison.

And here is the finished look.

Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara in black, .08 oz - Estimated Value $7.68

Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara in black, .08 oz - Estimated Value $8.80 (Buy the full-sized version for $24).

I am going to admit my disappointment that this sample mascara didn't come in the awesome rainbow chrome packaging that the full-size does. If I was going to be buying a mascara purely on packaging, this would be the clear winner. The brush on this really gave me that fanned-out look that opens my eyes, but I wish it gave me a little more volume.

Now that you have seen all five mascaras, which one is your favorite? I haven't redeemed my voucher yet, and I am going to wait to see the fan favorite before I do so. Vote below and let me know!

The Verdict: If you wear mascara I don't think you can go wrong with buying this LashStash To Go Kit. I had fun trying the different formulas with their intended brushes (it’s not the same when you're trying a mascara with the generic disposable mascara wand). There were actually a couple of mascaras I would be happy owning the full-size version, so I am excited to see which mascara you guys think I should get! Value-wise, Sephora promises a value of $52 and I calculated an estimated value of $50.16, not including whatever full-size mascara I will get.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this is still available for purchase! Click here to buy.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $28 + $5.95 shipping (depending on your beauty insider status, your order may ship free) and  I calculated an estimated value of $50.16. Here’s what you’re paying per item, assuming you didn't get free shipping:

  • Bobbi Brown: $8.22
  • It Cosmetics: $9.20
  • Lancome: $3.08
  • Too Faced: $7.49
  • Urban Decay: $5.96

Thank you so much for the wonderful comparison photos.

I purchased this box and love the Lancôme, Bobbi Brown, and It Cosmetics (in that order.) The other 2 clumped up so much! It’s funny how the 2 most expensive products are the worst quality.

All of them seemed to make her lashes look really straight though? Like in every picture her lashes looked totally straight out and not remotely curled at all. Which is disappointing cause curling is one of the main things I look for in a mascara so I guess all of these will be passes just cause of that

I’ve tried all of these besides the Lancome one and hate them all besides the It cosmetics one lol I got the urban decay one free in the mail and didn’t like it, the better than sex I’ve never liked, the Bobbi Brown flaked on me sooo bad! But the superhero mascara I absolutely Love! And I just realized after reading this review, I am super picky with mascara lol

I only wear waterproof mascara. Yet, I have never received one in a subscription box. I have a drawer full of mascara that I can’t use. Why is it that subscription boxes refuse to include waterproof Mascara?

For whatever reason that Lancôme is not for me. It’s probably my least favorite mascara I’ve ever tried (aside from drug store brands) and its definitely my least favorite from this bunch. I’ve tried all of these except the Bobbi Brown. I love the IT cosmetics one. Such a good product.

Where can we discuss your hair? Fellow curly girl here.

I honestly think it depends on the majority of the time you plan on wearing the mascara. If you might get sweaty, I would totally stay away from the troublemaker (it isn’t “sex proof” – it was flaking where there are fibers quickly on me). I would probably vote for the one waterproof one since we are headed into summer. I have tried most of these, and I personally like the It cosmetics one the most when it comes to just the results from a fresh application. So sorry I am not simply just decided on one lol.

I hated Bobbi Brown and loved IT cosmetics when I tried them but Lancôme seems to work best for you with Bobbi Brown coming in at a close 2nd.

Lancome! Also SO TRUE about the strong makeup remover for the better than sex mascara. I love how this looks on me but it’s such a pain to remove.

Lancome or Bobbi Brown for sure

I buy this collection every year. Getting the free mascara makes it worth it to me. Not that one ever gets out of Sephora without spending a fortune. I can’t vote yet because I haven’t tried them all. Jessica, they all look great on you except maybe the IT Cosmetics.
