Miss Tutii is an international beauty subscription featuring popular products from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. There are two subscription options: TutiiBag, which is $16.95 a month and includes 4-5 full-size or deluxe beauty samples and TutiiMask, which is $13.95 a month and includes 6-8 various masks.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the TutiiBag, $16.95 a month, box.

About Miss Tutii TutiiBag

The Subscription Box: Miss Tutii TutiiBag

The Cost: $16.95/month + free US shipping. Save with 6 and 12-month prepaid subscriptions.

Good to know: Charges for TutiiBag recently started coming from Ontario, so you may also get a foreign transaction fee (mine is 40 cents but that depends on the bank) if you are in the US. For what it’s worth, though new subscriptions cost $16.95, I’ve been a subscriber for awhile and am still getting charged $15 per month.

The Products: 4-5 full-size or deluxe samples of popular skincare products, masks, and other beauty items from Asia!

Ships to: U.S. (free), Canada ($5.95), International ($10.95)

Tutiibag April 2018 Review

You usually get a pretty good mix of different skincare items and tools and sometimes a makeup item with this subscription. One sheet mask is also typically included:

The bag came with this information card. It didn’t actually have any product details although the items were easy to figure out this time:

The Face Shop Daily Beauty Tools Eyelash Curler – Retail Value $3.90 (found here for $3.71)

Eyelash curlers are hit or miss for me because I have small, deep-set eyes. But this one actually worked and did a pretty good job of curling my eyelashes. That doesn’t mean I’ll use it all the time as this is a step I tend to forget in my morning routine, but it’s nice to have one that works for me, for special occasions. I like that this one comes with replacement pads, too.

The Saem Saemmul Perfect Curling Mascara

The Saem Saemmul Perfect Curling Mascara – Retail Value $4.90 (found here for $4.66)

Did this curl my eyelashes? I honestly don’t know, since I tried the eyelash curler first. But, I like to switch mascaras out regularly and as it happens, this one does not irritate my eyes (I have sensitive eyes and wear contact lenses). This is a nice, dark black color and I don’t feel that it really gives me length, but I saw a nice thickness that’s good for everyday wear.

CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch – Retail Value $5

I get the oily/acne version of TutiiBag so I suspect this item could vary depending on your preferences. This has 24 patches made from a hydrocolloid material that is supposed to aid in wound healing. (There are several sizes in the package.) This product came at a time when my skin is actually in really good shape (I have monthly hormonal breakouts and I guess it is not time for those right now) but it gets really good reviews (see some at the link in the product name) so I will gladly try it out as soon as I have the need. (I am 40 now and while I still do need such products occasionally, I don’t need them nearly as often as I did, say, 20 years ago.)

Etude House AC Clean Up Toner (30 mL)

Etude House AC Clean Up Toner (30 mL) – Estimated Value $1.50 (buy 274 g here for $15)

I couldn’t read the package on this, so I am not sure how the volume actually compares to the full-sized product, but I am estimating it at 10% or so. This is an alcohol-based toner but I happen to like alcohol-based toners (I know, that probably makes me odd), especially for summer in the South. I am almost certain I have used this product before, but I don’t remember the circumstances. Anyway, I am a fan. This dried quickly, definitely tightened/toned my pores, and left my face in great shape for makeup application. This should be good for keeping the skin clear since it has salicylic acid and papaya extract, which has some natural enzymatic exfoliating activity, and it also has tea tree oil.

Firstlab Probiotic Mask – Estimated Value $3.30 (buy 10 masks here for $33)

So. Probiotics in skincare. I’ve recently come across information on this for a work-related project (incidentally) and it is unlikely that bacterial cultures in a skincare product will colonize the skin and actually make a difference. This one did wrap around a little under my jaw, which I liked as I feel that skin doesn’t get enough attention. This was super moisturizing and includes a turmeric extract which may help with inflammation. The serum in this one took a long time to dry after I removed the mask sheet, for what it’s worth.

Verdict: I calculated a total value of $18.60 for the April 2018 TutiiBag. As usual, take the prices quoted above with a grain of salt. Prices vary widely for these items depending on whether you buy from a US-based seller or straight from Korea, and many of the items have vastly different prices on Amazon, eBay, etc. In general, I think this is a decent value for this box, with a mix of brands and contents that are representative of what you can expect from month-to-month (i.e., one tool, one makeup item, etc.). I particularly liked the toner and the mascara and would consider buying both again.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first shipment would be May's. Also, please note that this is the “oily/acne” combo (selected at sign-up) and if you choose a different skin type, some of your items may vary.

Value Breakdown: At $16.95 for this subscription, you’re paying approximately the following:

  • Eyelash curler $3.55
  • Mascara $4.47
  • Acne patches $4.56
  • Toner $1.37
  • Mask $3.01

Alternatively, you’re paying about $3.39 per item.

This is the most disappointing box I’ve received. I only got four items and it came in a loose mailer with no bag or card. I had to double check the return address to see who it was from. It looked like more of an eBay bag. I reached out to customer service because by my calculations the bag totaled a little over $12. I never got a resolution.
