Mickey Monthly Theme Park Edition March 2018 Review

When you open the box there is a lot of paper filler and there are no inserts or list of items so you have to dig through it all to make sure you find everything. This month we received 6 items. My kids helped me unpack the box and they were very excited for all the treats!

I do want to say that the values are estimated this month since these are snacks that can only be found at Disney Parks. Values are based on various sites that purchase items directly from theme parks and ship them to you.

Disney Parks Star Wars Chewie Candy Blue Raspberry Gummies 6 oz bag

Disney Parks Star Wars Chewie Candy Blue Raspberry Gummies, 6 oz bag - Estimated Value $9

As soon as my son saw this bag with the “dog” on it that was all he could talk about. He’s only 20 months and hasn’t seen Star Wars yet, but I’m sure there are lots of fans who would be just as excited to receive these Chewie candies.

This 6 oz bag had plenty of candies in it and the best way to describe them is probably as large blue raspberry flavored fruit snacks. The bag is resealable and everyone in the family has been enjoying them (except me, but that’s just because I’m not a blue raspberry fan!).

Mickey Shaped Rice Krispie Treat with Mini M&M’s - Estimated Value $6.00

We actually received one of these in our box last month and again I have the same complaint: there is no card or tag attached to it which means no nutritional information or expiration date. However, this month, all of the items seem to have come directly from Disney Parks so I am much more inclined to accept this as an authentic treat from Disney!

The treat was again delicious- the mini M&M’s are always a hit and it was in the cute iconic Mickey shape which is very fitting for this box.

Disney Parks Goofy’s Candy Company Mickey Shaped Licorice Family Size 6 oz. bag

Disney Parks Goofy’s Candy Company Mickey Shaped Licorice Family Size, 6 oz. bag - Estimated Value $9

These were fun little snacks to receive and again, the 6 oz sized bag was great for sharing. It was resealable and the kids have been asking for them as treats! The tiny bite-sized Mickey’s are perfect for them.

Both my husband and I would probably describe them as stale little bites of Twizzlers. While they aren’t as good as a Twizzlers, I somehow still find myself snacking on them every time I get some for the kids!

Disney Parks Minnie’s Sweets Character Cookies in Vanilla and Chocolate, 7oz box - Estimated Value $10

This little box of cookies actually had a decent amount of cookies inside. They are pretty plain to me- vanilla and chocolate shortbread cookies or maybe more like a graham cookie but without much flavor? Either way, the kids really like them a lot and they are a good treat.

The best part, of course, is that they are all shaped like different Disney characters so it’s fun for the kids to discover which character their cookie is shaped after each time. They actually really look like the characters too- with details and not just the outline.

Disney Parks Goofy Candy Company Peppermint Mints, 1 oz tin

Disney Parks Goofy Candy Company Peppermint Mints, 1 oz tin - Estimated Value $7

This was a nice little break from the candy and cookies and mints are something that I can always appreciate having on hand. Plus this Donald Duck tin is really cute and will be perfect for the kids to reuse.

The little details of the mints were very cute. They all had a front and back showing various characters. The taste was good- not super strong, but just minty enough to freshen up after all that candy.

Astronaut Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich, 1 oz bar - List Price $5.95 (found here for $3.50)

To me, this was the most fun and unique item in the box that I could imagine seeing at a Disney Park and wanting to purchase. Buying this at Space Mountain (as a one time snack of course- I much prefer the real thing) would be exciting. Although it looks like these things are sold a lot of places, I still consider it a fun addition to the box.

As for my kids, they loved it. I really could taste the vanilla ice cream flavor and the freeze-dried sandwich part just tasted like a crunchy chocolate cookie. It was just a fun treat to get in our box that I would never purchase normally. Have I said fun enough?

Verdict: I would never have thought that I would enjoy a Mickey Monthly Theme Park Edition Snacks Only Box as much as I have. I thought it was a great variety of treats and the sizes were all perfect for sharing with the family. It definitely brought a little bit of Disney Magic into our home and I was much happier with this box than our last one!

While the values are really rough estimates, the total came to $46.95 and the cost of the box is $59.44 ($49.99 + $9.45 shipping). That seems to be about $12.49 under the cost, but the draw of this box is that it is supposed to bring you items that you can only find at the actual theme park and the value in that is supposed to offset the fact that you are only receiving about a 55% return on the cost of the box most of the time. Our return was actually a little higher at around 80% so I think that was a good value for the exclusive Disney Parks snacks that we have been enjoying.

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: At $49.99 + $9.45 shipping to MD for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Rice Krispie Treat: $7.60
  • Goofy Candy: $11.39

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I would love this box, but so overpriced.

A lot of those candies can be found at the Disney outlets in Orlando. I wouldn’t trust anything that wasn’t sealed with a label.

I’m a huge Disney fan but this is an overpriced box!!

That’s disappointing to know they can be purchased outside the parks. Thanks for sharing!

Ok sorry, but no way would I pay that much for that little, maybe if I were at the park. I’ll just go to the sams club and buy an 18ct of Fat Boys icecream sandwiches for $8.5. Lol
