Menlo Club Subscription Review + Coupon – March 2018

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. If you buy something, MSA may earn a commission. Read the full disclosure.

Menlo Club (formerly Five Four Club) is a monthly men’s clothing subscription service. You take a brief survey when you sign up (sizes and style preferences), and then each month they send you on average 2-3 new clothing pieces or accessories. For reference, my style profile is “Casual”.

I’ve been subscribing March 2013 (when they were still Five Four Club) and in general, I’m very happy with the quality of the clothing and the value – especially the t-shirts. (We’ve found the sizing to be similar to American Eagle’s sizing if that helps!)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

March 2018 Menlo Club Review

My March package was perfect for the end of winter – it included two items, new jeans and a basic black sweater.

Five Four Jeans

I was pretty excited to get a new pair of jeans in this month’s package! The downside – they have a button fly which just isn’t something that I like.

Outside of that, you should know that you’ll need to get all Five Four pants alter for height – I’ve rolled them up about 3 times here to adjust to my height.

Overall, I loved the style and how soft they were – but the button fly killed it for me!

Gilroy Sweater

The second item in my package was a basic sweater.

This was also on the soft side, which I loved!

The fit was perfect – maybe a little on the loose side, but I like that with a sweater. It was warm enough for the colder weather, but still on the light side – so I’m thinking that I can pop this on when Spring decides to start.

Again, nothing flashy here with the construction. Basic and straight-forward.

Verdict: This would have been a home run with zipper jeans! It’s still a nice delivery, though, and I should mention that you do receive a preview of your shipment which also allows you to add items to your package and save on shipping. While this one wasn’t perfect for me, I know that scenario is bound to happen every once in a while, but I still like the direction this year.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? All Menlo Club deliveries are based on your profile, so you’re not guaranteed to get the same delivery as me.

  1. Five four is the best in the Business! I love there products.

  2. Eric, congrats on the weight loss (which is very much obvious in your pics). I also noticed your Menlo size dropped by one “X” 😛

Hopefully, I can drop a few sized myself this coming spring/summer.

  3. I was all ready to sign up for this sub for my heading off to college teen son but this shipment has completely changed my mind.

That denim wash is so off trend! I don’t want to call out the cut/fit because it may just be the size Eric opts for but those pants are baggie and sad looking.

And that black top is a sweatshirt, not a sweater, which is an odd pick for mid-spring.

Nope, this box is a complete fail. Too bad – I was looking for a good fashionable/trendy sub to send to my kid while he’s at school 300 miles away.

  4. Their FAQ states that pants are 32” inseam in my husbands size, are they longer than 32’ inseam?

    • I wear a 30 and had to roll these three time to make them anywhere near usable.

    • My hubby wears a 32 32 and we have never had to have 54 club/Menlo hemmed. Length was perfect.

    • Yes they’re about a 32″ inseam in the smaller sizes. My husband used to be a couple waist sizes bigger and they were longer and had to be hemmed.
