Godiva Snack Lovers Subscription April 2018 Review

Before I show you the chocolate for this month, I would like to explain this subscription a bit more. There are four products included in the 3-month subscription. Month 1 sends you one pound of chocolate covered pretzels, month 2 sends you two specialty chocolate bars, and month 3 sends you a 6-piece dark chocolate truffle flight. The total cost for these items alone is $56, which is less than the $65 price for the three months. However, each month is shipped via UPS 2 Day delivery, which adds an extra $56.85 in shipping costs. This brings the total value of the subscription to $112.85.

Along with the info sheet explaining the products, this box also includes a small envelope with a customizable message inside.

Godiva Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels Canister, 1 lb - Retail Value $25

How lucky am I that part of my MSA duties includes getting and tasting an entire POUND of Godiva chocolate covered pretzels? I am not a fan of the basic chocolate covered pretzels you can get at the grocery store. This version, however, is next level. There is the perfect amount of chocolate in the chocolate layer over the pretzel, and the pretzel retains that salty bite. Together, the combination is really stellar. While I could easily eat this entire pound by myself (probably in one sitting, if I really wanted to), I brought this canister to work with me the day after I got it in the hopes of a) sharing the tasty joy and b) preventing my mom from texting me telling me she's disappointed in me for eating the entire tin (she would totally do that). Once word spread I had free treats, a lot of coworkers stopped by for “just one.” Only they ate their one pretzel and had to go back for more because they are just that good— nobody had just one. These appealed to me (and I have a major sweet tooth), as well as to people who usually don't like sweet treats (shoutout to Tuck, if you're reading!). I also met some coworkers who I had previously never seen before in my life. Godiva: Bringing coworkers together since 1926.

The Verdict: This chocolate covered pretzels are spectacular, and if you have easy access to a Godiva store you need to buy these immediately. However, you may be like me, and the Godiva in your town may have recently shut down. You may be like my mom, who lives in a small town about 100 miles away from the nearest Godiva store. If you don't have easy access to a Godiva store, I would really recommend taking a look at this subscription. Mother’s Day is coming up, and this would be a great gift that would bring joy to your loved one over a period of three months. The chocolate arrives in pristine condition thanks to the UPS 2 day delivery and ice packs included in the box (my pretzels were actually cold when I bit into the first one, and it was a hot day in Baton Rouge!), and you can introduce your loved one into the joy of subscription boxes while knowing they will love everything included (Pro tip: Don't buy your Mom this box if she won’t like the items. You can check out the items included in each duration of the two different subscriptions here).

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, the first month of any Snack Lovers subscription starts with this tin of chocolate covered pretzels!

Value Breakdown: The $65 cost for 3 months breaks down to $21.67 a month, and I received a $25 tin of chocolate covered pretzels shipped UPS 2 day, which would be an additional $20.95 if I didn't purchase this subscription.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This sub has been around for a long time, I got a year long as a gift maybe 6 years ago. It was called Godiva of the month I think. I did get a month of chocolate pretzels but I feel like the other months were more chocolate than just two bars and a 6 piece flight.

Well I have been spared. I love, love sweets and live an hour away from a Godiva store. I do not like chocolate covered pretzels, choc bars ok, and I would love the truffles if they were not dark chocolate. Interesting concept on the way they are doing the delivery. Are there new items if you decide to re sub after 3 months?

Hi Virginia! I recommend checking out their other subscription option which focuses purely on chocolate. From what I can tell from the website, months 1-3 of the subscription are always the same. I wonder if you could reach out to Godiva after three month subscription to see if you could continue your subscription on month 4.

I hope this helps!

I’m excited about this, but I’m confused. It says four items, and I only see three. What am I missing? Otherwise, I’m excited about this sub!

Hi Laura!
The four items are the chocolate covered pretzels, the truffle flight, and two of the specialty chocolate bars.
Hope this helps! I am enjoying the last of the pretzels while contemplating buying this for my mom for Mothers Day and her birthday (they are a week apart). She lives in Arizona, so the ice packed 2 day shipping is a must for it to arrive to her in good condition.

Laura

Yes it does. Thanks!

This is not my idea of a great box, there’s no real deal or special feature and two day shipping isn’t an exciting inclusion. Love Godiva but may as well go into store and choose my own snacks

Not interested can go into the store & get anytime. The chocolate covered pretzels & the bars are not worth it. Now if largest of the gold box that would be a complete different story. I just think they are getting stale & wanting to get rid of them . Not quick moving item’s. My opinion only

Nope, I’ll go to the store, or order directly from them.

I appreciate that they spell out what you get – it’s a hefty price point for a few snacks no matter how you look it so it’s nice to be able to double check it makes sense for you/your recipient!

My store closed down recently too. I wonder if this the future? I love this type of snack! Salty and sweet!
