Stylogic Subscription Box March 2018 Review
Here’s the note that came with my box from my stylist, Alice.
Here’s my invoice, which features a visual product list of the pieces I received. There’s also a little guide on the back that explains the try-on and return process. Note that subscribers have 3 days to pop their returns back in the mail to avoid an unwanted charge.
This pre-paid shipping envelope comes folded up in the box to help make returns quick and easy.
When I signed up, I filled out a style profile regarding my size, style, preferences, and interests in terms of what kinds of clothes I’m looking for. I was also able to share social networks that might shed a little light into my style, including my Pinterest boards.
Here’s my outfit! Cute, right?!
Fleurette Charcoal Long Open Knit Cardigan Sweater, Size Small – Cost to Keep $45.00
I love how lightweight this soft, rayon/polyester/spandex cardigan is. It’s perfect for work, where the office starts out cold in the morning and gets downright warm by the late afternoon. The invoice says it’s a size medium, but I noticed on the tag that it’s actually a small. Funnily enough, I don’t think it mattered much—the small might not be as flowy as a medium (my usual size) would’ve been, but it did create a slightly sleeker, fitted silhouette while still being just as comfortable. (I didn’t even notice that it was a small until after I took it off!) Oh, and three cheers for pockets!!! I love cardigans with big pockets.
Violet + Claire Ivory Blouse with Black Piping, Size Medium – Cost to Keep $60.00
This blouse is really cute. As much as I love unique, statement-making blouses for work, there’s nothing quite like a classic white button down. This 100% polyester top is semi-sheer, as you can tell from my gray bra showing through! It’s smooth and comfortable, and even a little bit billowy. The piping gives the top a retro vibe, too.
NYDJ Petite Black Convertible Denim, Size 10 – Cost to Keep $85.00
Next up is a pair of jeans. I live in jeans (with a pair of leggings thrown in here or there for good measure), but I don’t have a black pair in my current wardrobe. I like how these jeans can sneak into a more laid-back office look with help from pieces like the blouse and cardi I got. They’re Not Your Daughter’s Jeans brand, which is designed to accommodate a curvier silhouette. They do have some shaping qualities to them that I’m so-so about. But I like the sturdy water-conscious denim (made from cotton and a hint of elastane). It’s soft yet not flimsy nor easily stretched out.
Premise Studio Black Draped V-Neck Blouse, Size Medium – Cost to Keep $45.00
Hooray for more black! Hehe. Most of my current closet is black, so this top is a good pick for me. I found the fit to be just a bit more blousy than I typically like—it’s close, but I feel it sort of hanging on my shoulders rather than sitting happily. I do love how versatile it is, though. It’s a lot of shirt to tuck, but it does look fab tucked in. The front of the shirt and the sleeves are 100% polyester, but the back is a rayon/polyester blend, which is slightly stretchier and softer. The difference is barely noticeable, but I kind of wish it was the 100% polyester, organza-esque fabric all the way around.
MIA Faux Suede Taupe Tie-Up Ankle Bootie, Size 8 – Cost to Keep $69.00
This style of shoe has never really caught my eye before. They’re just a little more rustic than what I’d typically reach for. But trying them on, I do think they look cute alongside these other pieces. The vegan material is a little stiff, and I might suggest popping an insole in there to give some support to the ball of the foot (the soles aren’t super shock absorbing), but I feel like they’ll soften a bit as you wear ’em. I love the height of the heel—it’s just enough to make the outfit feel special and polished, but easy to walk in.
The Verdict: I was really impressed with my first Stylogic box! I can see why Alice chose the pieces she did for me—if someone saw me in this outfit, they’d be like, oh yeah, that’s Anna! Not everything flat-out wowed me (I’m so-so on the boots and the black shirt), but I liked the neutral colors, fit, and pops of personality (that cute piping detail on the white shirt!!!) on the other items. The subtotal for the box is $304.00, which feels high to me (though these are, I’d say, department-store-quality pieces), but if you keep everything, you get a discount and of course, the styling fee goes towards your purchase, bringing the cost down to $218.20.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stylogic curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $25 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the 5 items inside is $304.00. The styling fee goes towards any purchase I make, and if I keep everything, I also get 20% off, bringing the total to $218.20. That’s a savings of about 28%.
