Scentbird is a perfume subscription where you choose one fragrance per month. They offer a variety of authentic designer scents and allow you to narrow down by either traditional categories for notes (e.g., floral, woody, spicy, etc.) or more general descriptive terms (e.g., mysterious, classic, flirty). Subscribers also receive a monthly discount code that can be used on full-size bottles of perfume or cologne from the Scentbird shop.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Scentbird for Women March 2018 Review

This month, I received Scentbird's “Scent of the Month.” You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:

There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, “In Full Bloom” by Kate Spade.

Some months, you will get a new case for your fragrance, but in months where a new case doesn’t come, your glass fragrance vial is packaged inside a cardboard tube that includes directions on how to replace the fragrance vials in the holders. (I know from personal experience that you can absolutely spray the fragrance vials without them being in holders at all, but if you want to carry one around in your purse, the holders are nice to have around.)

In Full Bloom by Kate Spade

In Full Bloom by Kate Spade – Estimated Value $7.80 (buy 3.4 oz bottle for $98)

I have some Kate Spade jewelry but had never tried any of her fragrances. This one really lives up to its name, with rose, lotus, and peony standing out most. This also has green tea, peach, lemon, and some generic “green” notes, but it is STRONGLY floral, with the floral scent lasting much of the day. I am honestly not such a big fan of floral fragrances and will probably not wear this one often. I do think the general category of the scent of the month varies from month to month, so it still may be worth taking a chance if you like to change things up. You won’t get something floral every single month.

Verdict: This month’s fragrance didn’t meet the price point of the subscription, but if you are interested in getting the best value, you can fill your queue with expensive scents. I definitely still think there is value in getting smaller amounts of fragrance to try, either with the goal of finding your signature scent or with the goal of building up a fragrance wardrobe for less money than buying a bunch of full-size bottles.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this fragrance for your queue.

Value Breakdown: This subscription is $14.95/monthly and this month, I received $7.80 worth of fragrance (but again, this is highly variable based on what scent you receive).

I have been a scentbird subscriber for about 4 months now maybe 5. I upgraded to two perfumes a month after the first two months I love the club hate the shippingperiod two months in a row now I have not received my perfume the first month they send me a tracking number and say that it’s on its way but never comes. When I asked about I finally got them through by email because they have no phone number and no live chat so I emailed them and asked them what happened and they said they did not take money out of my account so therefore I did not get any perfume this month they did however take out $25 which I have an upgraded account which I doubt will last much longer. They sent me a tracking number again and again it didn’t mean anything. I was told by them (scentbird) that it would be delivered yesterday and today or yesterday it was not I did not get perfume again this month very unhappy with scentbird going to probably look into a new perfume Club because they only deliver 50% of the time. And no live chat no phone number so all you get stuck with is emails that they reply back and say they got your email they will get back to you later

I chose this perfume for this month’s selection. Actually, I find I keep selecting their fragrance of the month, including April’s, because they happen to all sound like something I’d like to try. This perfume is still in route to me, but after your description, I think I’m going to really like it, since I love floral scents, especially rose.

I am just not big on florals. I can take rose on its own (and actually like that). But my taste runs more to woody, spicy fragrances.

I like those too! I think the only scents I can’t take are the really fruity (although I do like verbena & citrus scents, but not a fan of the berries) or vanilla ones.

I chose Tocca Cleopatra. It smells nice though to me it smells like it’s better suited for someone older, but I’ll use it.

I often hear people say that the fragrances I like are better suited for men, so there’s that…

You might like (MALIN+GOETZ) Cannabis. I chose that for my husband and son and we all three like it. It’s a neutral scent but I think it’s more for men.
