KitNipBox "Rock and Roll" March 2018 Review

KitNipBox has monthly themes. Around holidays, they are holiday themes, but you can never predict what it’ll be at other times:

The information card included a list of items in the box. They included values and I have used a lot of these below because KitNipBox toys can be hard to find for sale online. This month had a rock and roll theme.

Multipet “Catnip Garden” Catnip (0.5 oz)

Multipet “Catnip Garden” Catnip (0.5 oz) – Retail Value $4

We have a lot of cat scratchers around the house and this will be great for refreshing them. (I never have to buy catnip anymore.) It is definitely good catnip; you should’ve seen Monkey perk up when I let him sniff inside the bag.

Leopard Wand for cats

Leopard Wand – Listed Value $7

Most months, with this subscription, you’ll get a dangly toy on a wand. I am happy about this. My cats tend to love these. Angus and Madison got the most out of this one (although Sneaky did seem to enjoy biting the wand, itself).

Wellness Kittles Chicken and Cranberry Treats

Wellness Kittles Chicken and Cranberry Treats – Retail Value $2.49 (found here for $2.37)

These are small, hard treats. I knew my cats liked the turkey and cranberry ones (we received them in a different box last month) but now I know they like the chicken and cranberry ones, as well. Sneaky will get most of these (we use them to get her into the bathroom so we can give her her asthma inhaler).

Safemade Keyboard for cats

Safemade Keyboard – Listed Value $6

This is a larger, kicker-style toy. Monkey really liked rubbing his chin on it. This is more of an Angus-style toy in terms of play, though, so I’ve left it in an area where he will find it in the middle of the night.

Rock and Roll Crinkle Pillow

Rock and Roll Crinkle Pillow – Listed Value $5

I didn’t think my cats would be so into this, to be honest. It is quite large. But check out the photos of Mr. Kitty below. He thought it was wonderful. He kept rubbing his chin on it and chewing on it and drooling on it. He is old and chronically ill so any time he can get some enjoyment out of a toy, I am happy.

Safemade Microphone Kicker for cats

Safemade Microphone Kicker – Listed Value $6

This is another catnip plush. I’d call it medium-sized. Monkey enjoyed rubbing his chin on it, but I think this is another one that Angus will have the most fun with.

All for Paws “Hiss” T-Shirt Toy for cats

All for Paws “Hiss” T-Shirt Toy – Listed Value $5

The final toy is also a catnip plush. I think this is the smallest of the bunch. Again, I am pretty sure Angus likes this one the most. (That is not so surprising. He is just under two years old; my next youngest cat is Sneaky, who is turning ten (!) later this year.)

Gratuitous cat photos below:

Angus liked these treats.

He also had a lot of fun with the wand toy.

Madison enjoyed the wand toy, as well.

Kitty tongue!

Monkey is so weird. He got really excited to sniff the catnip.

And he just wanted to rub his chin on everything else.

Sneaky bites a stick!

OF COURSE Sneaky liked the treats.

Mr. Kitty really liked this toy. He drooled all over it. And do you see him BITING it? Made my day.

He is still kind of interested in catnip, too.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $35.49 for the March KitNipBox. That’s more than five dollars over the cost of the subscription on a month-to-month basis. This was not the best box in terms of toy variety for KitNipBox (there were a lot of large catnip plushes) but there were some surprises (like seeing Mr. Kitty with the red pillow) and the wand, treats, and catnip were well-loved.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first KitNipBox will ship right after your payment processes, so you should still be able to get March's box if you sign up now.

What a cute assortment of toys, very on theme. I especially like the catnip keyboard. Seeing Mr. Kitty happy made me smile. I just love orange cats. Of course I also love black cats, and gray cats, and white cats and striped cats, and spotted cats and multicolored cats… OK all of them. 🙂
