Keto Krate February 2018 Review

My box included a really nice, large, fold-out info card!

Now, onto the products!

Basil & Garlic Oloves, 1.1 oz

Basil & Garlic Oloves, 1.1 oz – Retail Value $0.99

The packaging for these green pitted olives couldn’t be cuter! I really don’t care for olives, but I gave these a taste and… Nope. I still don’t like olives. However, if you do, I really couldn’t imagine a cuter snack version to toss into lunches or on the go.

Milkadamia Unsweetened Vanilla Macadamia Milk, 32 fl oz

Milkadamia Unsweetened Vanilla Macadamia Milk, 32 fl oz – Retail Value $5.49

8 oz of this milk is only 50 calories! I have never tried macadamia milk but this is really creamy and I love the taste. So far I’ve tried it in coffee and oatmeal and I am a new fan!

Nekstella Sugar Free Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, 1.06 oz

Nekstella Sugar-Free Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, 1.06 oz – Buy a 16 oz for $12.36

This spread is meant to be a low-carb alternative to Nutella. Nutella has 21 net carbs, whereas this spread only has 4 net carbs per serving. (FYI net carbs = total carbs – dietary fiber). I think that if you’re eating keto and you want a sweet treat or are craving Nutella then this seems like a pretty good substitute!

The flavor is actually pretty good, but I do think you can tell the sweetness tastes a little artificial in the flavor profile and aftertaste.

Cherry Pomegranate Ultima Electrolyte Replenisher, .12 oz packet

Cherry Pomegranate Ultima Electrolyte Replenisher, .12 oz packet – Buy a 20-count pack for $19.99 (found here for $15.12)

This drink powder is actually pretty good! The cherry pomegranate flavor is tart and tasty. On the keto diet, it’s easy to lack electrolytes (especially when transitioning into ketosis), and replenishing them is pretty helpful.

Hickory Smoked Pork with Uncured Bacon Roam Stick, 1 oz

Hickory Smoked Pork with Uncured Bacon Roam Stick, 1 oz – Buy a 6 pack for $14.95

I’ve never heard of these but I love them! Roam Sticks are the first non-GMO, pasture-raised pork stick! They’re also free of gluten, dairy, antibiotics, MSG, preservatives, red dye, corn syrup, nitrates, and more, which I am so excited about! The flavor is fantastic. This is a new favorite high-protein snack!

Know Better Cinnamon Cookie, 4 oz

Know Better Cinnamon Cookie, 4 oz – Buy a 4-cookie box for $10

These cookies have lots of good, keto-friendly characteristics. Each cookie is only 4 net carbs! And these babies are hefty – each one is 4 oz. Because they’re so big (and keto, which is high-fat), they’re also nutrient dense: 380 calories for one cookie. That being said, you could totally split this in half or even quarters for a treat.

The flavor and texture is good, too! Very chewy, and sweet but not too sweet at all. It’s a nice balance.

Ketologie Chocolate Keto Shake, 2.1 oz

Ketologie Chocolate Keto Shake, 2.1 oz – Buy a 2.38 lb tub for $49.95

This powder can be used to make a cold shake or hot chocolate. I thought it actually tasted pretty good! It’s not too sweet, and the macros are right where they should be for Keto: 0 net carbs, 14g protein, and 25g fat).

Keto Carne Spicy Beef Jerky, 2.5 oz

Keto Carne Spicy Beef Jerky, 2.5 oz – Retail Value $24.99

This jerky is so good! Literally, the only ingredients are beef, water, and seasonings! The texture is fantastic – you can tell its real beef by the way it breaks off and it’s even a little crispy here and there. I like beef jerky but regular store-bought kinds are mushy, highly-processed, and full of sugar and chemicals.

It’s definitely spicy, but not unbearably so. I’m a big fan of this stuff.

Tangerine Smartcake

Tangerine Smartcake – Buy 8, 2-packs for $36.99

These Smartcakes are pretty interesting! Tangerine is a new flavor, but I wish I could try their chocolate or cinnamon cakes because I think I’d like those better. The tangerine isn’t bad; it tastes like orange soda cake. It’s alright, just not my fave.

But I have to say their formula is spot-on. It’s sweet but doesn’t have a weird aftertaste, it’s fluffy, light, and tastes like a proper cupcake, for being gluten-free.

Skout Backcountry Organic Roasted Spicy Texas Chili Pumpkin Seeds, 2.2 oz – Buy 6 pouches for $23.95

I didn’t realize pumpkin seeds have so much protein per serving (10g!).

These have a great flavor and I love that they come in a re-sealable bag. I’m just not one to sit and munch on seeds, texture-wise, but I think these are a great choice if you do.

Chocoperfection Dark Chocolate Almond Bar, 1.8 oz – Buy 12 bars for $48.95

This chocolate bar lives up to its claim of being the “best tasting”sugar-free chocolate!” The flavor is actually very good and has a creamy texture. I didn’t even get any kind of cooling effect or anything from the erythritol.

The bar itself looks cute and fancy, too. I liked this!

Healing Butterfly Chocolate Matcha Tea, 3.65g – Buy a 25 pack for $29.99

This sugar-free chocolate matcha drink has antioxidants, probiotics, and chlorella to support digestive and immune system health. Green tea and chocolate flavors go together really well!

Verdict: Right off the bat, I was pleased with this Keto Krate because it had more items in it than I was expecting (12 items)! I love the full-sized macadamia milk and the high quality of all of the items in here. I think my favorite discovery is maybe the beef jerky and Roam Sticks. I love that there are keto subscriptions because I think having a larger variety of things to snack on and the discovery of new products definitely adds some fun and maybe helps ease the transition into a new way of eating.

One of my favorite boxes! Every month there are great new products to try. Keto can be hard to keep without variety, and the monthly box makes it much easier.

Great to see a keto box but several of the items are sweet, which is usually taboo for me. In future reviews, can you tell us what the sugar substitutes are? Thanks

This was an awesome box!! I loved the roam stick!! The choco-perfection is literally the best sugar free chocolate I’ve had, and the tangerine smart cake is surprisingly my fave out of the ones I’ve tried so far, and that Know Cookie was great, Keto Krate is one of my favorite Keto subscriptions and totally worth it
