Happy Mail February 2018 Review
Dolly Parton Embroidered Quote Print by Daily Disco
The first item is in the form of a print, which is a familiar item to past Happy Mails. This time they've teamed up with Daily Disco, makers of pins and custom patches, instead of designing it themselves. It features the Dolly Parton quote "Find out who you are and do it on purpose" in various pink and red embroidery. Happy Mail prints have always had a positive vibe, and this one is no different.
You Make Everything Groovy Postcard
Another quote (from The Troggs song "Wild Thing") in trippy 70s inspired lettering gives us a colorful postcard. The front is orange with yellow, red, and purple lettering while the back is a crisp white to jot down more compliments to the receiver.
Broken Heart Card
I don't know about you, but I've been through my fair share of heartbreaks, as well as helping numerous friends get through them as well. Whether it's losing a love, a dream, or one of the myriad ways life can bum us out, this card can be a shining beacon to someone who just wants a little love. The front has a pink and red hear broken in two while the inside simple says "sending love".
"You're My Favorite" Stars Card
Sometimes life isn't fair, and you know in your heart that you have a favorite person, above all the others. This pale lavender card is covered in hand-drawn style darker purple stars with one shiny gold foil one that stands out, while the inside reads "You're My Favorite!". Send this card over to your bestie, your partner, or heck, even your favorite child, to show them how much you appreciate them.
Honey Bear Thank You Card
Honey bears are one of the cutest containers for a condiment I've ever seen. Here, it's emblazoned in gold foil with the words "pure honey" in white across it. On the inside, it reads "Thank you for being so sweet". You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and this card knows it.
Happy Birthday Card
This birthday card keeps with the theme of the postcard with its vintage letting. Muted green, pink, and orange "groovy" letters spell out "Happy Birth Day" against a pale pink background. It comes with a vintage green envelope that matches. Shoot this one out to a friend who loves That 70s Show and won't stop talking about their friend Maryjane...
"High Fives" Card
Yet another waggly-lettered colorful card conjures up 70s vibes with this one. If you know someone who did something deserving of a high five, this is the card to let 'em know! Celebrate their accomplishment with this far-out greeting that comes in purples, reds, pinks, oranges, and yellows.
Rainbow Thank You Card
Rainbows will usually bring a bit of cheer to a persons face. This little one in pink, orange, yellow, green, and purple simply says "THANK YOU!" underneath. It comes with a lavender envelope to match and is left blank inside.
World's Greatest ____ Card
I like a card that allows you to DIY it up. This pale pink and red one has one of those sticky name tags on the front and begs for you to write in a noun that describes the great receiver of this card. You can be funny or sincere, it's up to you!
In addition to greeting cards, Happy Mail brings a little of the defunct Messy Box in with some fun stationery goods to jazz up your correspondence.
Gold Star Stickers
Ah yes- the coveted gold star that I remember always wanting to receive on a classroom chart as a kid. These are a cute little throwback that you can decorate your envelopes with!
Lavender Washi Tape
Purple and lavender were a theme throughout a lot of the cards this month, so this washi tape should compliment most of them nicely. Use it to decorate the outside of the envelope to make it a little "extra".
Verdict: This first delivery after the 5-month hiatus from Happy Mail was filled with a lot of different cards for a myriad of occasions. I love how colorful they always are and am digging the pops of gold on a couple. It's always good to have cards on hand since my memory isn't so great and I'll often not realize important events until it's too late. This subscription also encourages more "snail mail" correspondence with pals and to celebrate all sorts of wins. I like to see the addition of a couple of accessories as well since Messy Box is no longer in existence. Since most greeting cards are $4.00+ these days, getting nine of them plus a couple of goodies for $27.00 is a pretty sweet deal.
