Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to plus size women between the sizes of 10-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. I just started using the service a couple months ago and can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

Gwynnie Bee February 2018 Review

This review is of the one item at a time for two items that I received February 2nd through March 1st.

Three-Quarter Sleeve Border Print Shift Dress by London Times, Size 20

I opted to try this boat-neck style spandex and polyester blend dress for the retro paisley pattern. I went down to a size twenty in this dress, but I may have been able to go a size smaller since it was rather roomy! If you prefer your dresses to fit more like a snug bodycon, I would suggest going down a size. I was surprised at the length of the dress since it looks more like a mini dress on the Gwynnie Bee model. This piece is perfect for the office but would be fantastic for a wedding with glitzy gold sandals and tassel earrings.

Three-Quarter Sleeve Green Floral Dress by MOCI, Size 4x

This month I was sent another three-quarter length sleeve dress, this time an olive green, floral, retro style number. I am not sure when I closeted this piece, but for whatever reason, I chose a 4x. I would have preferred this to be more form fitting and would have preferred the 2x. The dress isn’t extremely baggy, but I feel that a smaller size would have enhanced the twisted fabric detail at the waist. The fabric is an ultra- soft, stretchy, comfortable, polyester. I paired the dress with black wedge heels, but I could see it looking fantastically with pattern clashing leopard print heels as well to amp up the vixen vibes.

Verdict: This month’s selections had a few sizing issues, but I was partially at fault due to selecting the incorrect size for the second dress. Both dresses were extremely comfortable and would be fantastic for my office job, but also with the right accessories could translate well outside of the workplace. Gwynnie Bee remains one of my favorite subscription boxes, especially since I am between sizes. Having a rental service where I don’t have to commit to quality pieces that I will outgrow in a few months is a blessing! It is also fantastic for trying out different trends without breaking the bank!  I also am excited that Gwynnie Bee has broadened their sizing to be inclusive of straight sizes as well. It is truly a service I would suggest to my friends of all sizes, especially young professionals in need of work clothes on a budget!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, the two pieces I received are available to rent or purchase at Gwynnie Bee!

I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I got two items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly.

I think that both dresses look really good on you but I don’t think that they are too big. I think that they are just perfect. It is the first time I have seen clothes on you that I thought fit. Usually they are very tight. I can ascertain from all your reviews that you like to wear things really tight but clothes look better on you in your size. These two dresses make you look really thin. I know that you have lost weight and I applaud your effort. I wish that when I was younger that I would have felt as comfortable in my skin as you do. I am a plus size as well and have always dressed differently than most people. So I appreciate your style. I am a personal stylist and I think that you really put your clothes and accessories together very beautifully.

Thanks Melanie Wellman! I do typically prefer my clothes more form fitting, this is true. We all have our fit preferences for sure. Thank you for the kind words, though! I try to be thoughtful in my styling, so I appreciate what you said.

It took me some time to get to where I feel comfortable at any size I am. I spent my 20s being harsh on myself. My 30s definitely have been a turning point. The body positivity community changed my life. It is extremely liberating and exhilarating for sure.

Again, thank you so much Melanie!

Nicole,
If I had a daughter, I’d want a young lady exactly like you.
You are so refreshingly honest about the style and fit of things, and you don’t goof around with 2000 words regarding a dress, top or pants. I appreciate your style in all ways.
AND, not to be superficial or too personal, but you are looking great. It’s very obvious that you’re dropping sizes even without reading about the changes. : )

Mandy, thank you so much! You really have made my day with what you said. I can’t say thanks enough for checking out my reviews. Writing these reviews is a passion of mine and it is so cool to have you and others appreciate them.

And thanks! I made some changes to improve my health. I am feeling great these days (aside from the funky cold I had last week)! I just am constantly struggling on figuring out my clothing sizes. Hahaha. Thank you again, Mandy!

I need to just add “ditto” to everything above! Love your reviews, honesty, and confidence. We’re all different, and we all have different styles, but, Nicole, you could make a potato sack look great! You’re an inspiration to many! Thank you. XO

Awwwwwwe Connie! Thank you so much! What you said means a lot. Your kind words have warmed my heart on this freezing cold night! I do what I can, but if it helps other bodacious babes— that makes it all worth it!

Zara

I have to add my voice and say that I think both look great on you (also like mentioned, the second dress you can only see the mis-fit from the side). I especially like that first dress.

Now, can you tell us where we can subscribe to get your amazing sass? Because I definitely would pay top dollar to have that certain sparkle you do.

Awwwwe, Zara! You just made me smile so big. Thank you!

I would share all the sass if I could! Like the classic Coca Cola commercial from the 60s! Haha. There is enough to go around!

Loba

I liked both dresses on you (it wasn’t until I saw the side shot if the second dress that I noticed that it was too big from the front it looked like a traditional shift shape with some interesting ruching).

The first dress I like a little more. Just because the olive green background with that particular floral pattern just isn’t my favorite.

Thanks always for these reviews. I don’t always get to comment (kids are keeping me super busy theses days) but I always appreciate the reviews you do. You breathe life into every review. I never feel like I am reading some rehashed copy and paste review when I easily your reviews. And, last but definitely not least, it is so great to see not only a plus size woman but a plus sized woman unabashedly rocking fashion.

Girl, you slay!

Awe, Loba! It is always so good to hear from ya! I know things get busy, especially with kiddos. Totally understandable. Thanks for taking the time out of your days to read my reviews! It means a lot to me!

I agree, I prefer the first dress myself! It is ultra comfy to boot! Win/win!

I appreciate all you said because I truly love writing these reviews and I am glad the love for doing them shows. I always want to deliver a sincere review to you all! 😊
