Degustabox March 2018 Review
Degustabox always has a really nice info sheet that goes over each item included in the box with their retail values.
The content on the back changes from month to month, this time it showcases breakfast items.
HomeBrew Quick Pickle Mix x 3- Total Listed Retail Value $4.50 ($1.50 each)
The first series of items are unique to me. They've sent three packets of different pickling mixes that include Spicy Pineapple, Snappy Apple, and Pickled Red Onion. My mom used to do a lot of pickling when I was growing up, but I've never done any on my own. I love dill pickles so I wish one of these was a more classic flavor, but these should be pretty fun to try. Each packet suggests a different fruit or veggie to use and only requires you to cut it up, mix the packet with water, sugar, and vinegar on the stove, and then seal in a jar with the veggie in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Julian's Recipe Belgian Pastry Waffles, x2 - Listed Value $4.99 for a box of 4
These waffles look like they are normally found in the freezer section of the grocery store, but can be eaten at room temp right out of the package, as they've come here. I'd prefer to heat mine up, so I did so in the toaster oven for a few minutes. As they mention on the package, there's no need for syrup with these because they are already sweet! For an added experience, you can slather it in Nutella, whipped cream, or fruit!

7Days Soft Croissant in Peanut Butter Creme and Chocolate - Listed Retail Value $1.49 (Buy a pack of 6 for $12.00)
As far as packaged croissants go, this one is pretty darn good. The bread is really soft and has stayed moist. It's filled with creamy peanut butter and chocolate (my favorite croissant filling) and almost tastes like a PB+J sandwich with chocolate instead of jelly. This is a great little on the go snack.
OREO Chocolate Candy Bar in Mint, 2.88 oz - Retail Value $0.99
OREO has been coming out with all sorts of wild products lately. This one uses the popular European chocolate brand Milka chocolate which is insanely creamy and smooth, along with a mint and cookie filling. I love mint with chocolate and these remind me Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies, so I am majorly on board.
Post Great Grains Cereal in Coconut Almond Crunch - Retail Value $3.28
I don't buy or eat a lot of cereal, but if I get the hankering, this would be exactly what I'd go for. The coconut almond combination is my favorite for granola to put in my yogurt or a cereal like this. This has a subtle sweetness to it that makes it easy to eat but feels healthy. The flakes are accompanied by nice big slivers of coconut and almonds.
Elmhurst Milked Brown Rice, 32 oz. - Retail Value $5.99
I've never seen brown rice milk before, so this is new for me! Knowing a lot of vegans, I've tried a myriad of plant-based milk, and I have to say that this one is pretty impressive. Even though I'm a whole (cows) milk kinda gal, I can appreciate the nutty flavor of this that does indeed taste a lot like brown rice (which is my preferred rice). I wouldn't call it "creamy" like advertised since it is rather thin, but it has a great flavor.
Here, I tried it with the cereal from above. Good stuff!

Loacker Quadratini in Espresso, 7.76 oz. - Retail Value $4.69
Ah, my beloved Loacker wafers! These are no stranger to Degustabox, but this is the first time I've received the espresso flavor. The package boasts that they are "#1 in Italy" and I understand why. They're so crispy and light but filled with creamy espresso flavor filling that goes perfectly with coffee. These are really easy to overdo it with.
BluePrint Organic Energy Tea in Guaya-Fiyah, 14 oz. - Listed Retail Value $2.49 (Buy a case of 12 for $34.50)
I had to look up what "Guayusa" is because I was not familiar. It's apparently in the holly family and is prepared by drying like tea. It naturally is packed with caffeine, so this energy tea is all organic and made without additional boosters. It has maple syrup to sweeten, lemon juice, Guayusa extract and essence, turmeric extract, and cayenne pepper extract, so it is a lot like a juice cleanse product. The taste is a little slow to get used to, but not too bad. I'd definitely prefer drinking this to a chemical-packed energy drink.
Verdict: This month's Degustabox was great! I love breakfast, so I enjoyed all of the morning-friendly items included and I was exposed to a lot of new products as well. More heavy on the "snack" side than the "pantry-staple" side this month, but I still enjoy the mix from delivery to delivery. The top items for me were probably the cereal and espresso wafers, but that Oreo candy bar was also bangin'!
