canvas pouch from joya

Collections by Joya March 2018 Welcome Card

Those of you who have been following along with my Collections by Joya reviews will know that I adore this box. I got so excited when it showed up on my doorstep the other day! It was really lightweight, but no less filled with bliss than it usually is. This month, all three items came packaged in this canvas pouch and also included was a little thank you card. I do wish Joya would share which charity they support, even if it's the same one each month!

I've learned from the comments section on previous Joya reviews that not everyone receives the same jewelry each month. I haven't the slightest clue how the Joya team decides what goes in whose box, but I'm supposing it's somewhat random since subscribers don't fill out a questionnaire when they sign up, nor is there an opportunity to fill out a monthly feedback form. I'm sure there's overlap, but I also like the element of surprise and the idea that there can't really be any spoilers—all their jewelry is beautiful, so it's hard to go wrong.

joya necklace

joya matchstick pendant necklace

Matchstick Pendant Necklace — Retail Value $58.95

This necklace is simple, lightweight, and super versatile. It's made up of a fine, golden chain featuring a matte brass bar pendant. After last month's statement necklace that probably wouldn't appeal to just anyone, this necklace feels a lot more universal. Quite honestly, I would probably overlook this necklace in favor of something bolder while shopping on the Joya site, but now that I have it here with me in person, I'm finding it to be a piece I love. And, that's just one reason the Joya subscription is so great; I've had my eyes open to a number of beautiful accessories that I might not otherwise have given a chance!

This bar necklace totally blends into the dress that I was wearing the day my box came, but worn with something more minimalist (either dressed up or dressed down), it is simultaneously noticeable and understated. It's a really lovely piece.

jori earrings

joya jori earrings

Jori Earrings — Retail Value $68.95

These fringe earrings are so my speed! They feature golden beads leading down to hammered, matte brass hemispheres that support ivory cotton tassels. This is the second pair of fringed earrings I've received in a Joya box and I certainly hope they're not the last. I love the way the off-white color matches the platinum blonde streak in my hair, and I am forever on team hammered brass—it has a nice, warm tone to it and a rustic feel. I thought these went well with my dress that day and proceeded to debut them right then and there!

joya jenna earrings jenna earrings

Jenna Earrings — Retail Value $48.95

As far as jewelry goes, earrings are by far the kind I wear the most. I think it's because necklines can be tricky to pair necklaces with, and, because I work at a desk job, rings and bracelets can often feel clunky and in-the-way while I'm typing. So, if ever there were a type of jewelry to receive two of, earrings are always welcome in my world! This is another pair that might not have caught my eye while scrolling, but I absolutely love them. They're a really unique take on the geometric jewelry trend, they're lightweight, and I can see them going with a ton of different outfits. Heart eyes!

Verdict: Welp, I'm obsessed with this month's Collections by Joya box! What else is new? I was sent one piece that felt hand-selected by my proverbial Joya guardian angel and two that are something a little different for me, and I couldn't be happier with all three. This box costs $49.95, including shipping, and the three pieces I received add up to $176.85. As always, this is a killer value.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by 4/8 to get the April box!

Value Breakdown: At $49.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $16.65 per item. Hello, amazing deal! I mean, these pieces are nice. Here's about how it would break down per item:

  • Matchstick Pendant Necklace: $16.65
  • Jori Earrings: $19.47
  • Jenna Earrings: $13.82

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

This is one of my favorite subs and I have tried many since coming across this site! I always fall in love with at least one piece each month and, like you, gift or swap those that aren’t for me:) I always look forward to your reviews!
