Cloth & Paper is a monthly stationery subscription box from lifestyle and stationery shop, Cloth & Paper.

In addition to the Stationery Subscription Box, Cloth & Paper offers a pens-and-pencils-focused subscription called "Penspiration," as well as a subscription that's the two boxes combined into one. With the Stationery subscription (what I'm reviewing today), you can expect 5-8 items, including desk items like paper pads, pens, note cards, and journals, as well as some occasional lifestyle goodies.

Cloth & Paper February 2018 Stationery Box Review

"there is luxury in simplicity" quote card

There is usually a sticker on the wrapping that has this quote, "There is luxury in simplicity",  but this is the first time I've seen a print/card with it on it.

Next is a thank you card with a coupon code to get 10% off your next purchase in their online store.

Then you'll see the familiar card that has a Malcolm Gladwell quote on one side that says "The visionary starts with a clean sheet of paper, and reimagines the world.".

info card with blog address

The reverse side has their blog address so you can see the breakdown of the items.

"HELLO” COMPLIMENT CARDS in package front and back of "HELLO” COMPLIMENT CARDS

"Hello" Compliment Cards, 12 count

These are a super cute idea and a fun way to give a compliment to a friend, coworker, or stranger. One side of the pale pink business-card-sized card says "Hello", with the back explaining "I just wanted to say..." with plenty of space to write something nice. Keep these in your bag to spontaneously make someone's day!

Brass Triangle Drafting Ruler

Yes! Another classy brass desk accessory to add to my others! I previously received a gorgeous brass protractor and ruler from Cloth & Paper, so this triangle completes a nice trio! They suggest using this for bullet journaling, but I just like having it around because it looks so special. The front has two rulers (or three straight edges) and the back is blank.

GREY & PINK sticky NOTES, in package GREY & PINK sticky NOTES GREY & PINK sticky NOTES with back of grey exposed

Grey and Pink Sticky Notepads

These two super simple sticky notepads are the palest of pink and grey- colors that go really well together and are kind of the overall theme of this box. You'll receive a 4x6 pad of 25 sheets in pink and a 4x3 pad of 25 in grey. Per usual with other Cloth & Paper sticky notes, these are BIC brand, which you know can be trusted to have the right "stickiness". You can never have too many of these on hand.

“NOTE” NOTECARDS, in pacakge

"Note" Notecards

These are great to use to include a quick note when sending out a package. You may not want a whole greeting card in there, but a plain sheet of paper just won't do. These come in a variety of colors, but I received five white, and seven pale pink index cards with the word "NOTE" on the left side and lines to the right, while the reverse side is blank.

"Note" Greeting Card

If you DO want to send a greeting card, but for no real occasion, this card has you covered. A minimal dream, this crisp white card mirrors the notecard design by stacking the letters in "NOTE" in bold black letters. The inside is left blank and it comes with a matching stately black envelope.

"Ciao" greeting card in package pale pink "Ciao" greeting card with grey envelope

"Ciao" Greeting Card

Taking the same design from the "Note" greeting card, this one says "Ciao" on the reoccurring pale pink hue. This is perfect to send to my Sicilian bestie across the country as a way to just say hi. It comes with a pale grey envelope as well. I think she will appreciate the barely-there color palette.

MEETING “NOTE” PAD in package 3/4 view of MEETING “NOTE” PAD

Meeting Notepad

I do my very best to steer clear of meetings these days, but if I'm forced into one, I prefer to take notes by hand rather than on my laptop. I'm just better at writing than typing. Plus, I can draw little doodles when I'm staring off into space. This 6x9" notepad comes with 20 heavy card stock pages that you can tear away, and is divided into a top white section and bottom pale pink section. There's a space to write the date and topic to stay ultra-organized in style.

Verdict: This wasn't my favorite Cloth & Paper Stationery Box to date, but has plenty of office basics done is a minimal classy style that includes just a touch of color. I was most excited to receive the brass triangle and will put the other paper goods to use, but I tend to love their boxes that have a wider variety that fits a very specific theme (like their wax stamp or bullet journaling sets from last year).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but it looks like you have until the 16th to subscribe and get the March box.

Value Breakdown: At $38 for this box, you are paying roughly $5.43 for each of the seven items.

I would love to see reviews on Penspiration, if MSA would consider!

This month seems very unoriginal compared to the norm. While I like the idea of simple notes, this many is overkill.
