Busy Bee Stationery March 2018 Review

This month’s theme is Wanderlust. From the Busy Bee blog:

This month’s theme is all about planning, exploring and making memories! Use this month to plan the places you’ll visit and the things you will do once you arrive then keep a book of all the memories you made! This month we included items to help you create your own personalized memory book!

I found the blog to be very helpful to learn more about each product in the box and how to use them for the theme.

Heidi Swapp – Wanderlust Collection – 5 x 7 Memory Binder - Retail Value $15.00 (found here for $13.12)

The blog says you can use the binder to create a calendar, journal or anything else that you can think of. This binder is well made and has the saying Happiness is Free on the front. It is very cute.

Heidi Swapp Wanderlust Collection Flea Market Pouch Kit - Retail Value $12.99 (found here for $9.09)

Use the Flea Market Pouch to personalize your binder. Additionally, you can use the clear zipper pouch to store things in the binder and keep them easily accessible. I like how many things are offered in this pouch and that they all can be used in different ways, from adhesives to cards.

The pouch includes:

  • 27 pieces including ephemera pieces
  • banner stickers
  • gems
  • ribbon

American Crafts Memory Marker 5-Pack, Fine and Medium Point - Retail Value $12.89

American Crafts Memory Markers are the perfect all-around scrapbooking markers. With a fine and medium point tip at each end. They are acid-free, non-toxic, non-bleeding, permanent, waterproof and pigment ink.

I may have just gotten an old batch of markers because when I opened the yellow marker, the tip of the pen fell out. I put it back in and it seemed to stay. The colors all worked but I was hoping for more vibrancy.

Heart Correction Tape Set - Estimated Value $2.23 (buy a 2-pack for $4.47)

These are cute correction tapes, aka white out. I couldn’t find only one for sale, so the link is to two, and estimated the cost of one. The heart is really cute and I love white out, so I liked this product. It’s definitely an upgrade to the traditional white out tapes because of its adorable factor.

The Verdict: I enjoyed this box because it introduced me to new crafting products I otherwise wouldn’t have known about. I think that perhaps this month could have used something else to complete the theme, maybe some pages to put in the binder and use the flea market items on. I liked the white out the most as it was super cute and something I would put in my pen case! I was, however, not impressed with the value. All the products in this box total $43.11 before shipping (less with sale prices), which is slightly higher than the $39.90 plus free US shipping box cost.

The Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the April box. From Busy Bee Stationery:

Busy Bee Stationery boxes ship during the second week of each month.

I like the idea of this box, but it’s too expensive even if the value was okay and the value is not there.
