Now, on to the items!

OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel 8-Cup French Press – Retail Value $40

This coffee press is unique in that it has a silicone base with a handle that sits at the bottom and allows for easy coffee ground removal once you’ve made your coffee:

While I love that design, the plunger screen is not ideal. The sides don’t fit snugly enough in the carafe, so you may still get some grounds in your coffee.

It’s BPA-free and made of glass and stainless steel, so aside from the plunger screen issue, this is a quality piece for $40.

I’m more of a tea drinker anyway, so this design flaw isn’t a burden for me since loose tea leaves did not sneak past the strainer! (If you are interested, here are instructions on how to make tea with a coffee press.)

Peak Sphere Ice Mold – Retail Value $10

This food-safe silicone ice mold is dishwasher safe and BPA free!

You pour the water in the top, freeze, and then the silicone makes it easy to remove.

Here’s the finished product:

It definitely makes a cocktail look classier, and it melts down slower than your typical cubed ice cubes.

Greater Goods Balance Signature Sonic Toothbrush – Retail Value $89.99 (Currently on Amazon for $24.85)

This electric toothbrush set comes with 2 removable brush heads and a charging base:

The bristles on the brush heads aren’t too soft or firm, and on the back is a tongue scraper:

I found this toothbrush to be comparable to my current electric toothbrush with two main differences. The design is a bit sleeker (always a good thing), and this toothbrush has four different settings:

Clean, Whiten, Sensitive, and Massage. (The Whiten setting seems to be a bit more intense than the clean setting, the Sensitive setting is a bit less intense, and the Massage setting has stronger vibrations.)

Swanwick Sleep Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses – Retail Value $69

I’ve read about blue-light blocking glasses before, but I’ve never tried them. (I’m all about getting as much quality sleep as possible, so I was thrilled to see these in the box!)

The glasses are designed to improve your sleep and health by filtering out harmful artificial light from digital devices. You wear them for at least an hour before you go to sleep, and then you’re good to get a good night’s rest!

Also, from their site:

Optometrists are predicting an epidemic of premature macular degeneration (vision loss) from prolonged exposure to digital devices.

The American Macular Degeneration Foundation reports that “the blue rays of the spectrum seem to accelerate age-related macular degeneration (AMD) more than any other rays in the spectrum”

According to my 23andMe report, macular degeneration is something I’m at risk for, so this is another possible benefit for me.

The glasses come with a little info card with more details on how to sleep better.

And care instructions for your glasses. Microfiber cloth included:

Here are the glasses:

Now, the idea is you are wearing these right before you go to bed, so these don’t have to glasses you’d want to be seen in, but this design is as simple and classic as it can be. (I still look like a bit of a dork in them, though!)

And here I am wearing them to give you a better sense of scale:

They completely block the blue light, and because of that, colors are a bit distorted. It took a few minutes to get used to, but I’m completely on board now. Here’s hoping for even better sleep in my future!

Alien E10 Wireless Earbuds with Charging Case – Retail Value $99

These are officially the best designed wireless earbuds I’ve ever seen.

They charge in the case:

And the earbuds stay snuggly in place thanks to magnets:

The earbuds have a 4.5-hour battery life (or 30 hours with the charging pod.) You can use one or both, they work for talking on your phone in addition to listening to music, and you can tap them for handsfree control to skip tracks, etc.

My husband Eric is the audio expert in our family, and I asked him to help me test these out. He said they were fantastic, had excellent sound, and were the best Bluetooth wireless earbuds he’s ever used.

And they come with additional earbud covers to make sure you get a comfortable fit:

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $308! At the $139 price, (even without the $15 coupon), I think the value is good. (Even with the Amazon pricing you are still ahead.)

I’ll use everything in this box, and I’ve also discovered two game-changing products: the glasses and the earbuds. (I’d pay full retail price for those items.) I feel like the curators at Breo do a great job of finding really well-designed products that I didn’t know I needed. This is one of those boxes that I like when I open it, and then I like a lot more once I’ve tried all the products.

And the wooden box itself is really well made and a great storage box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of today, 3/14, the Spring box is still available. Make sure to sign up ASAP if you want this box.

Coupon – Use coupon code MSA15 to save $15 off your first box!

Value Breakdown: At $139 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Alien Wireless Earbuds: $44.67
  • OXO French Press: $18.05
  • Balance Sonic Toothbrush: $40.62
  • Swanwick Swannies Glasses: $31.14
  • Sphere Ice Mold: $4.51

  1. Finally took the plunge today. I had been shopping for earbuds so this box made sense to me. I used the $40 off so for $99 I got the box. Basically everything is Gracy after the earbuds. I will swap the coffee press and maybe the toothbrush. I already have one very similar. Does anyone know how long it takes to get your box after ordering? I am so excited about this! First box I have bought that wasn’t all beauty products! LOL

    • ARGH autocorrect! Everything is gravy…

  2. Ahhh… I’m still up in the air about getting this box!!!!!! $40 off is a pretty good incentive though….

  3. Liz………. I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Signed up on 3/15/18 to start a subscription beginning with this box; the status of that order is still “Pending.” It is always disappointing when one has been charged for for the order (in this case, it posted on 3/16/18) and the item that was ordered has not yet even shipped. Their Customer Service also has yet to respond to my inquiry sent on 3/27/18. This may be a “one box only, then cancel” experience.

  5. It’s with great sadness that I have to report that these headphones are not that great – it was the only item that appealed to me in the box, and unfortunately they are not all that good.

Both the right and left ear go out randomly all the time and the range isn’t to far – I have a pair of wireless headphones from Jabra, and they’re about $60 and they work far better.

Does anyone else have similar problems with their ear phones?

    • I’ve been using mine nearly everyday and haven’t had that problem. When I power them on, it takes about 20 seconds for them to fully pair. I’ve learned to make sure my Bluetooth is on and I don’t have to mess with anything else.

I am using with a Note 8 and iPhone 7 Plus. I find the range to be fine…but I haven’t ventured too far off.

My biggest issue with wireless earbuds is remembering where I put my phone and making sure I keep them in a safe place when I remove them…

      • Hi Tami. Im using them with my S8 – I have the 20 sec delay like you when I power on, but they cut out randomly sometimes multiple times during 1 song. Right ear, left ear or both. It’s maddening.
I contacted Breo – hopefully they can help me out.

        • Sorry to hear…mine don’t do that. I have had excellent experiences when contacting customer service, so I hope they can resolve your issue. I ordered 2 boxes and both sets have been working fine. Just takes a few extra seconds to pair…

          • Hey Tami,

I was able to contact Breo – a simple reset has seem to done the trick and there seems to be a big improvement but Ive only been using it for about a day now. But Im keeping my fingers crossed.

  6. Wow! Wow! Wow!

I just received my box..Breo Box is amazing me again and again. Every single product in here is a quality product. You would think a toothbrush..eh big deal right? Noooo..not at all..please touch this toothbrush..it feels great..looks extremely aesthetic sitting at my sink and brushes my teeth like no other. These blue light blocking glasses..insane..excited to help my sleep quality and they look so sharp on-can be unisex which is awesome for my husband and I. The coffee press- used it this morning. Love oxo and love the look of it. Can’t wait to put a brunch display together. The ice cube is amazing can’t wait to use it when a guest comes over. Used it in my lemonade and it gives it the perfect touch. The headphones are comparable to air pods. Love them.

I can’t stop saying it..people may look at this box and say eh this one doesn’t amaze me..DONT FALL FOR IT! Each of these products are worth it. Love this box! Can’t wait for summer!!! Keep up the good work Breo Box- your passion shows!

  7. Would love to swap for the earbuds!

  8. Hi Ladies,

Can I get the general rules and procedure on how to swap and what swap means? Or is there a place on there a place on the site were I can take a look? I usually give the things I can’t use to family, friends or my gym, so Im new to swapping.
    Thank you

    • Hi..Did anyone answer your question?

      • Hi Juliane,

I was able to get the basic rules – but its basically like a trade? That’s how I interrupted to be. Is that the basics?
        Thanks so much 🤗🤗

  9. There’s not a single item in this box that I want, but the beautiful blue box itself is stunning!

  10. I was not a big fan if winter box since I am fitbit user and two star products in winter box were sort of useless for me. However, THIS one is 100% winner. I love wireless earbuds and have small collection of 6 different wireless earbuds, so these ones will be nice addition to my mini-collection. I am very overdue to for new toothbrush, coffee press will work great for my tea (big tea lover here), glasses is something new and I am excited to give them a try; and finally ice mold would be something fun for my 2 yrs old son who is obsessed with ice and having ice ball vs usual ice cubes would be different for him. All in all I see myself using every single item in a box and am excited!

  11. I bought this sub for my 15 year old son for Christmas. He loved his first box with the fitness watch. I’m pretty sure he will love this one too. He already has a smaller French press so the larger one may come in handy. Hopefully, the ice sphere will fit in his wide mouth Nalgene that he takes everywhere. Of course he will love the ear buds. The toothbrush is a nice, practical gadget. It would have been great if they had added some really nice toothpaste. He is also looking forward to getting another wooden box. Love the blue!

  12. I just want to blue box! lol 🙂

  13. I think it makes a huge difference in the appeal of a box if I can get the items for much less than retail on my own. Having a large RV item be on Amazon for $25 or whatever is a huge turn off!

  14. This box does well for me at least. I only have one pair of wireless headphones and the cord on them bothers me, so these will be great to try. Been thinking I should try the French press thing and move away from Keurig coffee. Never had an electronic toothbrush, so willing to give it a try! I always wanted the sphere ice cubes, but couldn’t justify outright purchasing them. And I’ll certainly give the glasses a shot, too! Love the blue box, as well. And even if the items are mid-tier on the quality level, it gives me a chance to try them and see if I like them first, before investing in something better if they are indeed lacking.

  15. Coffee in the morning, earbuds for the day, ice ball with a refreshing drink and the glasses as you relax in the evening scrolling through social media. And, well you know, the toothbrush for cleaning grout. I am only kidding. I am looking forward to this box.

  16. Well I have to admit that I’m terribly underwhelmed!! Come on Breo box..I thought that I could rely on you to provide some awesome products, this box it a tremendous letdown! I don’t drink coffee and if I do it’s from my Kurig. I wear glasses so the blue light blocking glasses are completely worthless to me. The silicon ice mold is cute, but not something that I could EVER see myself using or taking the time to remember. I’ll use the toothbrush, but come on..it’s a toothbrush and not a terribly innovative one at that! The earbuds are nice, but not a nice enough item to stand on there own! I’m definitely going to be rethinking my subscription…this bad box just probably lost you a subscriber!! Too bad, as I have subbed since the first box and always looked forward to it!

    • I have reached out to the company to see if we can exchange the glasses for the fitover glasses that go over your regular glasses, but I am not sure the company is still in business.

  17. I’ve got Robb Vices boxes to swap for the earbuds n glasses. Not all are listed in swap section.

    • Hi Karol, I’ll swap the glasses with you. Where do I find your stuff for swap? New here.

  18. I’ve been looking for a pair of earbuds like this. If anyone has a pair they would like to swap, I’d love to!

  19. Great review as always Liz. This would be a good box for people who want to upgrade their basics. I got the winter box and am glad I did, but I don’t think I will buy this box again. I don’t want to end up with a lot of high RV stuff to swap. This is a good box to just read the reviews and buy those 1 or 2 things that stick out to you that you could really use for their real world price.

  20. This would’ve been my first box, but I had to skip after seeing the toothbrush and the coffee press. I already have an electric toothbrush and I don’t drink coffee. That’s two of the “big” items right there that I can’t use. The earbuds might’ve been worth it, but I didn’t want to risk it.

Oh well. I think it’s a decent box overall but I hope summer’s box is more my speed.

  21. ugh, so disappointed in this box. all i would use is the earphones.
only reason i got the box is because i didn’t know how to skip – i had purchased the one time box and had no idea i had signed on for quarterly boxes.
as soon as i figure out how to swap – 1st time swapper, I’ll put the majority of these items up.

  22. I think the retail pricing of the items seems high, especially for the toothbrush and glasses. I will likely be swapping most of the box and re-evaluating my subscription.

  23. I am very excited for this box! I love the blue on the box and I love love the French press! Coffee is life for me!!! I also can’t wait for the earbuds and blue light blocking glasses…I’ve always wanted wireless buds for my crazy workouts and definitely have issues with looking at my phone too much at night… I also can’t wait to try the ice sphere that will be prettt cool… overall excited and can’t wait for this box! You guys have done it again.

  24. The blue box is super pretty. One thing I notice about Breo is they like their coffee, I think almost every box so far has had at least one mostly coffee related item (I say mostly because the item typically CAN be used for other beverages but it’s mostly built for coffee drinkers).

I agree there isn’t a cohesive theme here – I feel like they did really well with that for a hot minute. None of the boxes have come even close to the Summer 2017 box. I’m so glad I snagged one of those and I’m not upset I haven’t gotten one since.

  25. I’m obsessed with Breo Box!!! There’s always amazing products in every box! Customer service is always extremely helpful. Can’t wait to use the French press!😋

  26. Wow Breo Box!!! You’ve done it again. I’ve never seen a subscription box company do such a great job with curation. This box has so much value to it..it’s a no brainer. Loving the fun color of the box as well!

  27. We get 2, and I’m excited for the earbuds alone—the contents are both fun and useful for us and we love upgrading our kitchen gadgets without scouring shopping sites or reading endless reviews. I have found the new gadgets I’ve discovered from Breo so useful!!

I creep Indiegogo, where I’ve seen some of Breo items; purchased from some campaigns but get tired of waiting, delays and tracking updates.

My skincare and make up stash allows us to donate, use, swap and share with 3 girls! I just put together 35 beauty boxes for a youth shelter from “extras”.

Looking forward to this box!!..I emailed through CS web portal earlier this week; within minutes received a response with follow up dialogue. Should be here next week 🙂

  28. The blue box is so pretty! I skipped this box because of the spoilers (only thing I’d use is the toothbrush). Looking at the rest of the items, this is a nice box, but not for me. Looking forward to the Summer box!

  29. I think the box is decent but it doesn’t feel like a $139 box. Just not special enough for such a chunk of money. Sure, a toothbrush is useful but if you’re going to include something so boring make the next item exciting……

  30. I too am disappointed in this box. FIrst, they did promise 6-9 items. Secondly, they have a retail value for the items that is above the value that some of these items can be acquired for – sometimes the RV is substantially more than what the items can be acquired for. Lastly, some of the items, particularly the coffee press, have very poor reviews. I appreciate the curation and will use most of the items in the box (Particularly the blue light glasses), however, at $140 I do not think I will be continuing the box in the future. Of course, I said the same thing about the last box and I ended up using all but one of the items and absolutely love my misfit phase watch.

  31. I’ve been looking at buying quality earbuds similar to this and need a new toothbrush. With $15 off, this is still a good deal for me. Will probably swap the other three items when I receive them.

  32. Liz, will you reach out to breo about the promised 6-9 items in a box? This box only has 5…

    • Yes, I’ll reach out. Sorry I didn’t notice that. I just checked their website and I’m no longer seeing any mention of the item count, so that might be outdated information. I’m sorry and I’ll find out more.

      • I just saw it on their main page, so it’s stoll ther. With the price breakdown for this box, I’m a bit disappointed and not feeling like this was a great deal/box at all, and it’s definitelt seeming a little “empty.” This is far less full than the 6-9 item box from last season. I’m curious to hear what you hear back from them!

      • This is on their homepage:
Every 3 months, we hand pack a custom wood box with 6-9 premium essentials centered around everyday lifestyle, fitness and tech, curated to fit the season. Only $139, four times a year.

      • Liz, did you ever hear back from Breo box about having only 5 items in a box that was supposed to contain 6-9 items?

        • Yes, here is their response:

“Rule of thumb is there will generally be 6-9 items in any given box but there could be times we have 5 items or times where we have 10 items it just depends on the curation for that season. Our value holds strong on this box and we decided to opt more towards quality of products”

    • I was thinking the exact same thing. Little bit disappointed in the count of items

    • Here is their response:

The rule of thumb is there will generally be 6-9 items in any given box but there could be times we have 5 items or times where we have 10 items it just depends on the curation for that season. Our value holds strong on this box and we decided to opt more towards quality of products.

  33. There doesn’t seem to be a cohesive theme to this particular box. We go from an ice mold to toothbrush to blue light blocking glasses? I think these items would have been more successful if they had been put together with other items that work together. It’s like a grab bag of gadgets one would buy on a late night Amazon shopping spree IMO (to be regretted in the morning!).

  34. I’d like to try the glasses and ice mold. Anyone interested in swapping those? Click my name to find my swap page please. 🙂

    • I have them up for swap. Link in name.

  35. I like a good amount of items from this box, but the ones I like I can find on Amazon for a lot less (or something very similar and highly rated). Just doesn’t have the draw for me personally. Bummer, I like the blue box.

  36. A complete miss for me. I’ll be swapping the entire box. Really disappointed.

    • I’d like to try the glasses and ice mold. Would you like to swap? 🙂 my swap ID is 24015, look me up please!

    • I would love the earbuds if you are interested in swapping!

  37. I love the blue box. I think the next one will be gold/yellow. I will def use the toothbrush, earbuds, and ice mold but not tge other items. I read on my kindle before going to bed and it has a blue shade for nighttime reading built in for nightime.
This box isn’t super exciting but I’m happy with it overall. I hope the next box has that wow factor.
