Disney Baby Look at Me! by Marcy Kelman - Retail Value $8.99 (found here for $7.02)

This book was adorable! The baby Disney characters were all very cute and the little built-in mirror on each page made it a very interactive experience, which we had a lot of fun with. Every page had a different character and an emotion or action that they would then ask the child to repeat. This is a great book for ages 2 and under- the younger ones will enjoy the mirror, and the older ones are getting introduced to new emotions and expressions.

Kids BookCase.Club Box Review February 2018 -6) Look at Me Inside

This was my favorite page that has Goofy making a silly face and asks the child to see if they can make a silly face too. It was really fun watching my son’s expressions in the mirror as we read each page. The last page has Daisy Duck blowing kisses, so of course it was adorable to see my son give his book kisses (it’s way more fun than just blowing them!).

The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli - Retail Value $7.99 (found here for $5.45)

This is a cute story about a crocodile who loves watermelon, but he accidentally swallows a seed. He then goes on to worry about what is happening inside of his stomach as a result which made for a cute and funny story.

Kids BookCase.Club Box Review February 2018 -9) Watermelon Inside

This book was a really fun read- my three-year-old had me read it to her several times in a row- and my son really enjoyed it too. I loved how the book only used black, white, green and pink. The illustrations were great and the watermelon color scheme really kept it simple, but interesting.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Boxed Set: Meeska Mooska Tales by Nancy Casolaro and Joanna Green - Retail Value $10.99 (found here for $7.81)

The last book in our box was actually a boxed set of 4 different Mickey Mouse Clubhouse books. My son was excited to see some familiar Disney characters and I was really excited over how they came in their own little box complete with velcro snaps, which means this will be a perfect set to keep in the car! The collection included four separate books: On the Go!- Mickey explores various modes of transportation, Goofy Goes on Vacation- Goofy goes fishing and plays mini golf among other vacation activities, Perfect Pets- we get to meet the pets of various Disney characters, and Snap Goes the Camera- Minnie enters a photo contest and takes pictures of her friends in silly situations.

The books were all based on subjects that really appealed to my son and the fact that they were based on the main Disney characters made it even better. I liked that some of the books were very short, while others, like Snap Goes the Camera had a little bit more length to them. It was good to have some variety in this pack and getting four books in place of one was definitely a nice surprise.

Verdict: I was so much happier with this month’s BookCase.Club box! Last month I was disappointed that the books weren’t geared towards a newborn-2-year-old male, but this month the books were perfect for my 19-month-old son. This felt like a carefully curated collection and we enjoyed reading all of the books together (over and over). The 4 pack of books felt like a bonus!

The total retail value of the books came to $27.97, which I think is great for a $14.99 ($9.99 + $5.00 shipping) per month box (especially if you opt for a longer subscription which costs less). This box more than made up for my disappointment over last month’s books, so I’m glad I gave it another chance and didn’t even have to contact customer service. I’m looking forward to seeing what we get next month in our BookCase.Club box!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, order before the 25th to get the next box. (Boxes ship on or before the 1st of each month.)

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

“The Watermelon Seed” is a family favorite. My 3 1/2 yr old neice & 18m nephew adore the silly story- it’s absolutely delightful. In fact, last summer we bought a stack of the board books to have on hand, to add to any summertime birthday gifts for children under 4.
I love that they included the book this month!

It is such a great book! Definitely a new favorite in our house! My daughter has had me read it to her at least twice every day since we got it! 🙂
