Avid Dresser is a monthly dress styling subscription. Subscribers take a style quiz and work with their stylist to find dresses that work for their lifestyle. There are 2 different plans: Basic (1 dress per month) and Signature (2 dresses per month). They have also just introduced a Curvy Girls plan (1 dress per month). All the dresses you receive are yours to keep!

Avid Dresser February 2018 - Box Open

For the sign-up process, I took a style quiz answering questions about my size, color and style preferences, for what occasions I need dresses, etc. I also had the option to choose to talk to a stylist directly or not. I would recommend choosing yes because it was super helpful!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the subscription review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the Signature subscription box, which is $49.99 a month.

Avid Dresser February 2018 Box Review

Let’s see the dresses my stylist has picked for me this month:

Avid Dresser February 2018 - Info Front Avid Dresser February 2018 - Info Back

My stylist, Rachel, included a handwritten note telling me a little about her selections for me. Last month I asked her to send a size larger than I have been receiving to have a little more room. I’m usually a 6 in pants/dresses and M in tops. Let’s see how it worked out.

Geometric Print Maxi Dress, size L - Estimated Value $29.99

I’m excited to have received a maxi! I love layering my favorite denim jacket over them for going out on cool spring nights or even wearing them to work. This a light, chiffon material with a navy slip layered underneath the bottom half. The top has an overlay that splits in the back so there is a little peek-a-boo effect. I don’t have a lot of orange in my wardrobe but it is toned down a little by the teal and navy. I can see myself wearing this to the beach or pool. I think this fit is forgiving so, even though the large feels a little loose, it still fits and holds everything in.

Avid Dresser February 2018 - Tribal Sleeve

Tribal Print Midi Dress, size L - Retail Value $34.99

I’m glad to have gotten a size large in this tie-waist dress because it has the perfect amount of flow. I love this warm toned tribal print for summer. The vertical lines create an illusion when the waist is tied and are slimming. The cotton/rayon blend fabric feels soft and airy and doesn’t get super wrinkly and there is a slip underneath that helps the dress float comfortable over my body. The sleeves have cute tie details that can be scrunched as loose or tight as you like. I’m happy with the little metal bead details at the end of the ties too.

The Verdict: I’ve found that I usually receive one dress that is totally me and one that is outside of my normal fashion zone. I think that has been good for me and is what a subscription like this is meant to do. So, I got two cute dresses for $49.99. I’m finding that many of the dresses have a cut that might align with what you’d find in a junior’s department (not a lot of space for ample busts) so sizing up seems to have helped. Customer service is always great and has helped with any issues that I have run into along the way. Spring is here and, while this month’s dresses seem very summery, I’m looking forward to some springy styles.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Avid Dresser picks dresses for you based on your style preferences and what they have in stock. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: The cost of this box is $49.99 for two dresses. That means you are paying about $25 for each dress. I think the value of the dresses at least equals or exceeds that amount.

Can I be honest? First dress is big no no. It makes you bigger and older. The second dress is fabulous. It is flirty and you look very beautiful in it. It is just right length and cut to show your pretty legs and figure.

Those dresses look great on you!

I just checked out their website. Clearly, I’m not in their demographic.

The sleeveless mesh dress on page 2 of their listings is really, uh, interesting. It’s basically a strapless body suit. The rest of it is light colored see-through mesh.

Thanks, Beth! I’m assuming that dress would match up with someone who tells their stylist that they want club or “going out” dresses. I haven’t received anything like that because I want to be able to wear my dresses to work or when I go out.
