Green Piñata January 2018 Review

My son, Fox is 22 months old and very active. Let's see what toys this month's Green Piñata brought:

Green Pinata Box January 2018 Caterpillar Train Set Green Pinata Box January 2018 Caterpillar Train Set Built

Hape Caterpillar Train Set - Retail Value $21.99 (found here for $15.88)

This wooden caterpiller and train set is great to help your toddler build their fine motor skills. I encouraged my son to help me set up the track and take it apart when we were done playing with it. He loved making the caterpillar crawl over the track. Back in the fall, he was very interested in finding real caterpillars outside, and we spent a lot of time talking about what caterpillars are and what they do. This toy was a great way to talk about them again and get excited to see some lovely butterflies this summer. The toy itself is made very well and will wear well over the years and through siblings.

Green Pinata Box January 2018 Concertina Green Pinata Box January 2018 Concertina 2

Concertina by Plan Toys - Retail Value $22.50

Best toy ever! I have to say, this did take my son a bit to get the hang of how to hold and move the toy on his own. I was trying to show and help him, but I quickly realized that this was something he needed and wanted to figure out on his own. He was determined and quickly was walking around the house making lovely music! This toy is incredible to get your little one started learning about the sound and touch of music, fine motor, and of course cognitive skills. Beautifully crafted and a great way to let my son's creative side shine! If you have a dog, they might not like the sound very much like our dog, so we had to keep this one contained in a room where our dog can't go.

Green Pinata Box January 2018 Who's in the tree puzzle Green Pinata Box January 2018 Who's in the tree puzzle out

Hape Who's in the Tree Puzzle - Retail Value $14.99

I spy a little fox in the tree! My son's name is obviously Fox so we have A LOT of fox themed items in our house. I get really excited now that he recognizes that these little animals have the same name as he does. While my son normally gets very excited for puzzles like this, he didn't really gravitate towards this puzzle set. I love the felt tails and thought he would get a kick out of it, but he passed it up most days. This beautifully crafted wooden toy is great for fine motor and cognitive skills, but it will also help your little one identify different animals and colors.

Oval Xylophone by Plan Toys - Retail Value $26.99 (found here for $25.49)

Another amazing music toy that Fox could not get enough of! The toy is wooden and crafted to really last over time, plus it allows your little one to explore different notes and identify colors. This toy, in particular, showed us that we should really be encouraging music more with Fox. He had great rhythm and identified the different sounds associated with each color. I see a guitar in his future!

Here is an action shot of Fox playing with all of his cool new toys! So much focus!

Verdict: I always look forward to my Green Piñata box arriving! My son Fox is very curious and will often get distracted or grow out of a toy quickly. Green Piñata allows us to keep each box for as long as we like to watch him interact and learn from each new toy. We can send everything back free of charge for a new box, or we can decide to keep any of the toys Fox can't seem to part with. When I first started receiving Green Piñata I remember thinking, "am I really going to like a toy rental, what if I misplace pieces from a toy?" What I have learned is that yes, a toy rental box is a really fun experience for everyone! Fox gets super excited when I take the Green Piñata box out, bringing in a fresh batch of toys that he can learn from. After he plays I just put everything back in the box for safekeeping until the next day when he asks for his new toys again. Easy and fun for everyone!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized to your child's age, so you might not get this exact box. You can order today to get a February box!

Coupon - Save 50% off your first month with code MYSUBSCRIPTIONADDICTION50. Or, save 20% off any gift subscription with code PINATA20

Value Breakdown: This box costs me $24.99, but I received $86.47 worth of toys. I am able to keep the toys as long as I'd like and returning them is free of charge! It is also important to note that toys can be purchased at "the same price as its Amazon list price. Please send us an email at [email protected] with the name of the toy you'd like to purchase." You will get a discount if a toy you received and would like to keep was gently used.

I grew up in a non-musical household but discovered the joys of being a musician in 5th grade, and now it’s a lifelong passion. Happy to hear that you want to start early with him.
