CHC Vintage January 2018 Review

Included is this adorable card with a colorful owl design. They resemble Russian nesting dolls to me, so even better!

There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. Nicole and the team suggested I style this dress with the bag they sent me in my first CHC accessory box. They are spot on, they would pair amazingly together!

Well, CHC Vintage truly knows how to appeal to me: send me all the leopard print you got! They sent me a leopard print pillbox hat in my CHC accessory box this month as well as this glorious leopard print slip dress in my November CHC review. I loved the previous leopard print dress, but this one is edging it out, I must say! I am a sucker for mini-dresses and mock turtlenecks, so combining that with animal print fabric makes for my idea of an ideal dress! The fabric is super soft and “furry”, but it has extreme stretch. I was concerned it wouldn’t fit me upon unboxing, but I was pleasantly surprised that this dress fits me like a dream and perfectly hugs my curves!

This dress immediately made me think of Poison Ivy from the Cramps when I put it on, so I styled it in honor of her. It is cold here in the Tundradome (see what I did there? At least I am amused, right?) so I paired this amazing dress with my favorite pin covered faux leather biker jacket, black opaque tights, saddle shoes, glasses from my latest Pinup in a Pack box (review coming soon!), favorite jewelry including my treasured Shake Appeal necklace and a Lux and Ivy pin from Mood Poison. I would wear this ensemble to my favorite dive bar to see my friends’ bands play on a Saturday night.

This dress is versatile and has a life beyond a wild Saturday night out, though! This beautiful mini-dress can easily translate to a Monday at the office with tan buckle accented booties and black blazer for a professional, yet sassy ensemble. For a post-work hang out with friends, pair a large brimmed hat for some Stevie Nicks vibes. I mean, when isn’t a touch of Stevie good for an outfit? This dress will also be able to be worn into spring months without tights and paired with high heels for a date night. You could also easily swap out the heels for flats and a jean jacket for a casual weekend look in warmer weather months. The possibilities with this dress are endless and make it such a great value!

Verdict: CHC Vintage nailed it again! CHC is so dedicated to providing a customized service, and it truly shows in details like their handwritten, personalized cards to the surveys they provide to pinpoint your personal style preferences. I love going thrifting, but it can be difficult finding plus size items that aren’t frumpy and dowdy. For a while, I didn’t even bother looking at anything but the records, housewares, accessories, and men’s clothing sections because it was so frustrating sifting through clothes that didn’t fit me or were matronly nightmares. CHC eliminates that frustration by doing the searching for you. They are inclusive in offering sizes in vintage from XS to XXXL and their price points are incredibly reasonable. $35 for a dreamy vintage dress personally picked for me: uh, HECK YES!

Someone had to say it: THAT DRESS IS WILD! Pun intended :p

You look like Shirley Manson, love it!

And you have amazing skin. Probably mainly good genes, but I’m curious what skincare you use.

They must have a lot of leopard print dresses in many different sizes. They sent me one last year:
