Now, on to the items!

Cle Cosmetics Highlighter Cushion in Glinting Buff – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $30

I still can’t believe we get the full-size version of this highlighter!

The highlighter looks beige on the cushion, but it goes on sheer with the most subtle and even shimmer.

To use, you push the puff applicator against the sponge then tap on your cheekbones, the tip of the nose, above the brows, etc.

The end result is FANTASTIC! This is officially my favorite highlighter of all time! If you want a look that gives you a natural, dewy, luminous highlight – I think this will be your favorite new highlighter, too. (Plus the application is pretty much foolproof. No makeup skills needed!)

Juice Beauty Liquid Lip in Gwyneth – .7 ml Value $7.64

(FYI – this is a variant item. Subscribers will either receive this or a full-sized Burts Bees lipstick.)

When I saw this described as a “liquid lip” I mistakenly thought that meant a liquid lipstick. It does not. If you are expecting a long-lasting liquid lipstick, you will be disappointed. But, if you want an ingredient-conscious lip gloss with pigment, I think you’ll like it!

Here it is swatched beneath the barely visible highlighter:

It was hard to capture the highlighter in the photo – sorry! It’s a subtle highlight that will catch the light beautifully with motion but isn’t going to stand out as sparkly/shimmery. (This is great for my everyday makeup, but not great for swatch pictures.)

Tarte tarteist™ lash paint mascara – .15 oz Value $15

I sampled this before thanks to Boxycharm, and I’m a fan! I’d say it’s on par with Lights, Camera, Lashes, (my all time favorite mascara), in terms of length and volume. Personally, I prefer a soft bristle mascara brush over a hard plastic one, so that’s the only reason I still prefer the Lights, Camera, Lashes. It’s an A+ mascara formula, though!

Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Minty Mint – FULL SIZE! Value $4.99

SkinFix is another one of my favorite brands (thanks, Target Beauty Box), and I always need a new lip balm, so this is a perfect addition to the box for me.

The formula is a little thinner than some balms, it goes on smoothly, moisturizes, gives your lips a slight sheen, and has a subtle, minty flavor. And on top of all that, it’s ingredient-consious!

Youth to the People Age Prevention Superfood Cream – .25 oz Value $6 UPDATE – .5 oz $12 Value (Sorry for the mistake!)

More ingredient-conscious beauty! (I love the packaging, too.)

Doesn’t this cream look like it would be so soothing? Well, I can confirm that it is super soothing! Hydrating, lightweight, and absorbs almost instantly, too. There’s no added fragrance, and the natural scent is super light and fresh.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $63.63! I thought the January box was my favorite Allure Beauty Box of all time, but this one might take over that title. I cannot repeat enough how fantastic the highlighter is! Everything else in this box is fab, too. I’m so impressed with the brands and samples featured in this box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of 2/19, the Allure website is still showing this box. (Click this link then scroll down. If they are still showing the items in this review, that will be the first box you receive when you sign up.)

Value Breakdown: At $15 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Moonlighter Cushion: $7.07
  • Juice Beauty: $1.80
  • Tarte Mascara: $3.54
  • Skinfix Lip Balm: $1.18
  • Youth to People Cream: $1.41

  1. Love the highlighter, it is the best one I have used so far.

    • I love the high lighter. I bought 2 today with free shipping

  2. Am I the only one who didn’t like the highlighter? I think it probably works best on warm toned skin. It looked garish on my cool-toned face and I only used a subtle dab. I wish I hadn’t tried it; I could’ve donated it or something.

    • Give it to a warm toned friend!

  3. With the highlighter weighing about 1/2 the full size, it’s not a full size product or worth $30. That brings the value of this box to around $48.

    • Cle only has one size available for the essence moonlighter, they do make an essence air cushion foundation that is $49. It’s actually a great product with refills available for the compact.

      • Yes, you are correct. It does only come in one size. The size listed on their website clearly shows the weight at .42 oz. The one in the Allure box says it weighs .25 oz. I checked before I posted.

        • Dawn, you’re absolutely right! What a let down from Allure…

          • My Youth to the People cream is 0.5 oz not 0.25 oz. Which brings the value of the box to around $56. I really wish MSA would be more attentive to what they’re posting lately.

  4. Love the Youth To The People moisturizer- does any of you wonderful ladies happen to know of a great place to buy it with discount? Least expensive I’ve found so far is $48 for 2 ounces

    • You can get free shipping at least on their website by using code ALLUREFREE

  5. I still haven’t received February’s box, anyone else?

    • I haven’t received mine and no shipping notification yet…

      • Im in Chicago and subbed over a year ago. I got my tracking on feb 16, but it literally takes a week to get to my post office in Chi and then takes 3-4 more days for delivery… The usps always says they’re behind due to winter storms….

    • I also didn’t received my box, I called to customer service, they said I will receive tracking information this week

      • I sent them an email yesterday and they sent me tracking info today. It is pretty obvious they had forgotten to send my box. I also inquired about the new subscriber gift which I never got and didn’t receive an answer to that. So far I am happy with the first box I got, which was January’s, but i’m not very impressed with their customer service!

    • I haven’t either!

    • Same. I sent an email last week and just got a tracking number today — no email response, of course. I don’t think they forgot about us, but I’d love to know how they determine who gets what and when. I’m not a new subscriber, but I did just accept the 4 month deal they offered when I tried to cancel (probably in January). Curious to see what will be in my box — if it’s one of those weird end of the month boxes full of leftover odds and ends they’ll definitely be getting a phone call.

      • Same here, I emailed them then got tracking a few hours later. I tried to cancel in January also and then went ahead and took the 4 month deal. Their boxes are nice but customer service lacks a lot to be desired.

  6. I did not receive the lip balm. I have emailed customer service but am just curious if anyone else had this issue.
I thought maybe it was a variant, but have seen nothing to indicate that….

  7. I’m so torn. I had meant to cancel allure this month, but it slipped my mind. I was not wanting yet another highlighter, but it’s beautiful and one I see myself actually using up. I LOVE the moisturizer, but I’ve been trying to find some decent ones at about half that price point and so far I’m failing miserably. I also love the juice beauty lip color, but it’s so small.
Tarte mascara is always a miss for me and so are lip products so heavy in coconut oil. I’m so torn on whether I feel I got my money’s worth or not 😬 my two favorite products were the smallest.

    • Try soap and glory for daily youth moisturizer from ulta/target. it’s my holy grail! very similar to way more expensive stuff

    • I think you will find good, natural inexpensive moisturizers at wholefoods. I really like the dermaE line.

  8. Holy crap! I got the extra item! I got Aerin fragrance collection with five mini perfumes!! Yay! I got everything else too. The burts lipstick instead of the juice beauty. The Aerin collection is worth over $50!! I am not a new subscriber either! Best box ever!!

    • They probably just had a bunch of leftovers from the bridal box.

    • Same! I was so stoked to have 6 items!!!!

    • I received it too! I was so excited, they smell wonderful! And I really like the Burts Bees lipstick, such a beautiful nude. Very happy with this box!❤

  9. So I decided to cancel Allure’s box after my having had my box lost and dealing with customer service- and well the March box didn’t appeal to me either. I canceled a week after I was billed for the February box. Well I decided to call them because I still haven’t received my nox as of February 22. They looked in my account and the told me that it was discontinued. Ya it was- a week after the money came out of my account. I had to wait for a supervisor and she couldn’t find that I was to receive the February box! Oh heck no! The person who I talked to about cancelling must have messed something up in my account but after I threw a bit of a stink about it the supervisor said she would be sure that I got the box. I’m expecting to have to call them back in a week. Allure sends nice items but it just is not worth the hassle to me. Here’s to resisting the next deal that comes along.

  10. The box felt light to me this month like it was missing an item.

  11. I do love the highlighter but is it really full size? Their website says .42 oz for the highlighter and I think ours are .25 oz. Maybe same size compact but less fluid?

    • You are right. The package says .25 oz so it not a FULL size.

    • Wow! No, it’s not full size. I did not notice that! It’s the full sized compact so we can reuse it but it is not really a full size product in the compact. That’s a little sneaky in my opinion.

  12. I love the allure boxes! The higighter is gorgeous. I have away the lippie e because I just don’t do the dark and bright colors. I was so anxious to try the moisturizer after reading the reviews! I opened it and “thud”…a tiny jar that I swear to you had maybe 1/8” of cream in the bottom. Would have been more in a foil packet. Ugh. Very disappointing. Love the balm too and tarte is awesome!

  13. Loved the box. However, that Juice Beauty lip product did not work for me at all. It feels so grainy on my lips and dried them out terribly. Allure box saved me money because I will likely never purchase any full size products from that line – the lip product was that bad for me.

    • Agreed! I liked the Gwyneth color a lot but it felt like it turned to sand on my lips. And it tasted gross when I accidentally had a sip of water, forgetting I had lip product on.

      • Same!! I hated it too. I loved the color but it was drying and felt awful. I tried exfoliating again and moisturizing and then reapplying and it was still bad.

        • Surprisingly, I really liked the color. But it fades fast and must be reapplied constantly. Gorgeous berry color for winter’s end!

  14. Anyone else missing their highlighter? I just got my box, shrink wrapped, no highlighter:( I’m so sad, this is the item I wanted the most. Has this happened to anyone else with this subscription box?? It’s only my second month.

    • Call them immediately, so they can replace it while its still available. AND send them an email.

  15. I was disappointed I got the Juice Beauty gloss, would have much rather had the Burts Bees. Also, on the part of the card that holds the mini gloss, it states it is a “free gift”. So I paid for product that was originally intended to be a free sample.

    • I’ve noticed that happening a bit lately with a few of my subscriptions. Getting products that, on the label of the product say… “free gift” or “we’ve included this free” or “free gift with purchase” or “this is our free gift to you” or some other variation. Its kind of annoying, it makes me feel a little taken advantage of (in some weird way), and put off from ordering any other items from either company. UGH!!!!!

  16. The CLE Moonlighter is fabulous! Great packaging and application. I didn’t realize its actually a liquid. Its so cool how you press on the sponge and the product is transferred to the applicator pad. And you don’t need much at all. On my skin tone (fair/medium w/ cool undertones) it appears as a slightly golden highlight, so this will really work well, for me, in the summer. I love the minty lip balm, but I don’t consider it a balm…its thinner than a balm. I use it at night after my lip scrub. I haven’t tried any of the other items yet. SIDENOTE: (regarding the Sunday Riley CEO Serum) I am one of the subscribers that experienced a break out. I now use it solo and exclusively at night. Its too heavy, for me, to use with other products. I originally used it in my morning routine, topped with moisturizer, primer, foundation, etc. After my break-out healed I decided to give CEO another chance. At night, I clean my face and apply the serum ALONE. I do not apply anything on top, it works as I sleep, and I wash it off in the morning. Its working great so far! It is a super star and prefers to work alone…LOL.

    • Hey Jill, The CEO is so hi in vitamin C that it’s basically purging your skin. Same thing here. Other subscribers mentioned this could or might happen. For some, it could be an adverse reaction, but for most, it’s trying to clear out your pores. I’ve been using this one to two times per week. I’m in my 40’s and believe it or not, I have some clogged pores and other skin issues. I did not think I would like this and at first, I didn’t. Now, I wish I could afford it. It does not feel good when I first apply it and I do let it set for a few before I add a gentle moisturizer. I do this before bed too. I’m 1/2 way thru this bottle and I can see improvement in the texture and appearance of my skin.

      • Hi Dawn, thanks for the reply. I’ve been using vitamin C for about a year now. I have always used it in the morning in the form of a serum and have never had an adverse reaction/break out until Sunday Riley. I don’t believe the vitamin C is the culprit. I think the problem is another ingredient in the formula. The consistency is just too heavy. I think the thinner the serum, the better absorption of the vitamin C into the skin. Just my opinion. I’m glad I found a way to use this CEO, b/c I love Sunday Riley products. The packaging is so cute, but the prices are too unreasonable. There are many other Vitamin C serums/essences on the market that are far more superior and more reasonable priced.

        • Oh good! I’m glad you found a way to use it. I am not a fan of how heavy the ceo serum is. Please do tell what brands you’ve found that are affordable.

          • Hi again Dawn, I replied to your last comment with a few product suggestions but it never posted. Maybe I shouldn’t be making recommendations on here??? IDK.

          • E.L.F. Beauty Shield Vitamin C Pollution Protection Serum is the best I’ve tried so far. Under $20, packaged correctly, and fast absorption. Blows all others away, in my opinion.

      • Vitamin C doesn’t purge skin. It’s an antioxidant that counteracts free radicals by binding with them so they can’t cause damage. Free radicals are found in the environment during the daytime. You are wasting your money using it at night. An alternative solution is to apply thinner layers of products and wait longer between products so they can absorb. When products start pilling up that is also the result of too much too fast.
Try doing serum, then maybe do your hair, then apply moisturizer (SR CEO may be rich enough for you to use something very light), then get dressed, then go back to face…

        • I don’t use the CEO on my face anymore, only on my neck and chest. Its too heavy and highly overrated. I’m about to begin a new trial with Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum. But so far, my favorite is E.L.F. Beauty Shield Vitamin C Pollution Prevention Serum…and its about $16. Easy to use, quick absorption, and properly packaged.

  17. I absolutely love that highlighter!!!! Probably the best I ever used! I also really enjoy the lip balm.

  18. This was my first month subscribing to this box, and I couldn’t be happier!
I was surprised and delighted to receive the Aerin’s 5 pc. perfume set in my box. And I will be able to use everything else, too, which is great.

    • I think it’s the new member gift. Congrats!!! Aerin perfumes smell so good.

  19. I received everything above + an extra Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Minty Mint (so a total of 2 in the box)….Go me, it’s my birthday, not fer real, but go anyway!!!

  20. I opened my box and pulled out the Juice Beauty and for about 5 seconds was all “Not ANOTHER red lipgloss/stick” Then I tried it, because on second glance it didnt look as red as I thought. Its not, its a beautiful dark berry colour. Its gorgeous gloss. Very wearable for me, and I’d actually buy the full size when its done, I like it that much!

LOVE the CLE highlighter. Its amazing! Really unexpected find, well done Allure editors on that one!

I like the mascara too, so happy to get a travel size of that, and the other two products are wins for me too.

Very happy with this box overall. 🙂

  21. My box arrived today. I knew what the sizes were going to be but still disappointed in the size of the moisturizer. The juicy beauty is small but it’s super cute. Not a big lip color girl but this shade looks good in me as a sheer. The highlighter is pretty unique and the full size is a plus. Not a huge fan of flavored lip products. Wish we would’ve gotten the unflavored one. The mascara is not a waterproof formula. This box is a great value, just not my favorite.

  22. your site nevr clicks to this link for me anyone else have that issue ?

    • Hi Misti,

Some MSA readers have reported that having an ad blocker on has been the issue for them. Hope that helps!

  23. Too many customer service issues with this one. Shared a link with my sister to purchase this box and they switched my box emails to her account so I stopped receiving emails and she gets double emails. Then get locked out of my account (but, don’t worry, they’re still billing me!!). I had gotten an email saying I would get a free box for sharing a link with someone to sign up and they said they didn’t have a record of that and wouldn’t send the box and have to speak with the manager to approve the box. So that’s probably not coming for a while (if at all). I think I’ll stick with saving up my money and just buying the full size products that I want to buy.

Oh and the free signing up gift was a tiny neck cream sample. Not worth it.

  24. Got my box today…items same as review. Awesome!!!

  25. Amen Liz… this Cle highlighter is life… second only to Becca prosecco pop liquid. At 20% off, I have to buy the Juice Beauty lip cause it really looks so gorge against my skin, wears to a natural pink without chalky, though I will need the pencil . I will suck up it is named after her. And always need a lip balm, travel size moisturizer and a mascara. Box turned out to be dope even though it didn’t look so exciting on the page. Go February Allure.

    • Same here, that highlighter was awesome and the unfortunately named lip gloss was surprisingly wearable!

  26. I got the full sized Burt’s Bees lipstick and I love it! Such a lovely color.

    • What color did you get?

      • I received Blush Basin and it us a beautiful rosy nude.

  27. I received the free gift for new subscribers (even though I’m not new). Happy to receive it since I got the Burt’s Bees (awful formula and shade and Allure has sent the same one previously).

Check out the free gift on my Insta (glamberwaves)! It’s really cool!

  28. MY box hasn’t even shipped yet. *sigh*

    • Susan – me too. No tracking info
      yet either……🙁

    • Same shipping info and still haven’t gotten the email asking what my shade preference is for the MUFE foundation coming next month.

      • Check your promotion folder in email. For some reason that is where they seem to be going.

  29. Got my box today, same variation as the one reviewed. The highlighter is AMAZING!!! Tarte lash paint is one of my two faves so even a deluxe sample size is welcome. Excited to try the moisturizer and the lip balm, the lippie…not so much lol! Overall another awesome box!

  30. I am curious if anyone tried both the Cle highlighter above and the Wet N Wild cushion highlighter, and how they compare.

  31. Just received February box and got a bonus, Aerin fragrance collection

    • oooooh…..hope I get that, too. Love Aerin products.

    • I got one as well. Love the scents. Don’t know why I received it but am very grateful and happy I did!!!
      Thanks Allure!!!!

    • I got the Aerin fragrance bonus as well, what a treat!

    • I got the bonus as well. No idea why!

    • I think it’s the new member gift that they just accidentally sent out to some. The booklet I got says that if you’re a new member your new member gift is included in the box. I love Aerin perfumes so yay. I just hope all new members also got it.

  32. It’s very easy to sign up for informed delivery on the USPS site, then when your boxes ship you’ll see the dates they start moving. Allure ships from Glendale Heights,IL from One Stop Mailing.

    • Sometimes packages will not show up in there. I’ve had this happen a few times and had to add them myself.

    • My box is shipping from there, but has not moved since Feb 17th, a week ago. Trying to track it down, do you mean sign up for email/text alerts, which I did, or do I sign up somewhere else on usps? Never had any issues with a package from Allure, frustrated.

  33. Still haven’t received February box.😔

    • Same here. No communication from Allure either about it even shipping. Getting really annoyed with them…

      • Got a “it’s shipped” email on the 16th. I’m in Cali. Have not received yet but hope it’s on the way to you!

        • I get their emails too, you can sub through Amazon too and you track shipping through Amazon instead of Allure.
I received my Allure box today and that’s pretty standard for their delivery time.

      • Same here. No mention of it being shipped and no replies to my email in regards to when it will be shipped. At least it’s not just me though, which I had thought it was

  34. I am pretty upset…they still haven’t sent me ANY info about shipping me my February box at all yet, and I was so excited about getting this one. Allure has awful customer service- they just do not do a good job at communicating. They sure were quick to take my money though! I was charged within hours of signing up during the first week of February- yet have not received any communication from them despite multiple attempts at trying to contact them. Super frustrating.

  35. So far the worst box from Allure I had. Hate mint, do not use highlighters, and the lip color is too pink to look good on me (hope I will get Burt Bees lipstick in better color). So only mascara and cream…

  36. Ohhh…I’m so excited!!

  37. I’m loving this box too! Allure is on a roll.

  38. So found out the cause of the shipping issues that people have with Allure. My January box was lost. Allure couldn’t do anything about it because they sent it after all. I finally found a cs rep that at least gave me a refund and that was nice but I would’ve rather had a replacement box. Well in my many phone calls to usps I found out the reason it was lost was because it was sent the cheapest way possible which is called parcel select so it’s not a priority of the post office at all and especially not to forward it. Really?! So ya, my box is lost and IF it is found it will arrive with postage due. I’ve read alot of reviews that show problems with shipping. Allure’s boxes are above the value of the price but so are the other ones. One cs rep agreed with me on this issue and told me that the lost boxes will get destroyed by the post office because they are parcel select and not worth their time. I just want to let other people know what I’ve learned because it shocked me. Allure would have less problems and maybe less people cancelling if they just fixed their shipping method

    • I really have a problem with beauty boxes shipping, been getting beauty boxes for 6 months had 3 boxes loss. Sold Ebay for 6 years as a power seller and had not one package lost. Wondering what is going on here.

      • Sounds fishy and drive me nuts until I got the answer that I did as unpleasant as it is. I cancelled because of it

        • I’ve signed up through Allure and Amazon for this sub and haven’t had any issues with boxes lost. I moved and my Allure boxes were forwarded to me. Kiwi Crate weren’t they were returned to company.

    • Sorry to read you’re having such an issue. Maybe you should try a different service.

  39. The last few Allure months have been STELLAR. I canceled ipsy and Play and I am THRILLED with Allure and Ricky’s NYC. Keep up the good work Allure!

  40. I received this exact configuration. This month’s box was excellent. I also love the highlighter and is foolproof application. The only complaint was that the Juice Beauty lippie smelled old. Apart from that, this was a solid box.

    • I got mine today and it was the same as yours. My allergies have gone bonkers, but I think I agree about the smell of the lippie. It smelled oily. GEORGOUS colour, tho, so we’ll see. I can’t wait to try everything. Awesome box!!

  41. Since I did the deal with the free Thrills box I think February is the last of the 3 included in that offer. Does the subscription renew on a monthly basis after that? I did get the quiz about the foundation so I’m not sure if that means I’m still subscribed going forward or not. (Too late to call customer service now!)

    • I did this same special but had to re-subscribe because they said it does not renew automatically. Hope this helps

    • I had the opposite experience as Deonna. I also did the 3-month Thrills offer (my last box was the January box), and I was automatically rolled over to a monthly subscription (which is what I was hoping would happen). Although, while I was still on the 3-month plan, my account did say it would not automatically renew. I figured that meant the 3-month prepaid plan would not automatically renew, but I still wasn’t sure if that meant I’d have to re-sub to get February’s box, so I just waited to see what would happen, then I was charged about a week or so ago for the February box.

      • Same for me – then I cancelled a few days ago and they offered the 4 for $10 each starting March.

    • According to terms of the deal, it should automatically renew at the 15.00 price. This was also my last month with the 3 months, so I will watch it in March.

      • My account has the renewal set to “monthly” on the allure page.

  42. I adore Allure…it is tied for first place with Boxycharm. That’s right, even though Boxy gives you all full-size items, Allure has a more interesting selection overall. 💋

  43. Can’t wait to get my February box! I’m always excited for my allure boxes 😍

  44. As usual Allure’s full of useful items I will have my box by Friday and I always look forward to it. I’ve been down to one box before and may be soon but I will keep Allure again.
It’s easy to forget they’ve included YSL,Tarte full size Juice lippies and other great products in their past monthly boxes.

  45. I got the Juice Beauty lip and it’s nice.

Kind of wish I had gotten the box a little sooner, because up until 2/17, Ulta had the full sizes at half off. Oh, well 🙂

The highlighter will last forever. I used it on my forehead a little and all I needed was a dot.

The Youth To The People cream is nice, too.

  46. Ooh this is looking good! Should get mine this week. Even though you can’t beat an $85 serum.. this box has more items I will use and you can’t go wrong with a quality travel mascara and lip balm! Gonna skip March but hoping more of these boxes will be great!

  47. I thought we were getting a Foundation? Didn’t we get emails asking for shade preference?

  48. So i did a little “stash cleaning” this weekend and apparently I already have 2 of those Juice Beauty gloss samples in that color from somewhere. Oopsie…does this mean i have a disorder?? Lol. So I guess I hope I get the Burts Bees. I was also dreading the highlighter since I have about a million of those but now I’m excited!!

    • I also did some “stash cleaning” this weekend and also found several (at least in my case) products that I have recently ordered more of, because I apparently forgot that I already had them too. hahahahaha!!!!!

  49. Allure is looking great this year. If I wasn’t swamped with beauty products I would sub to this one only.

  50. Great box! I subscribed originally for January’s Sunday Riley but stuck around, and I’m happy I did! Hope I get the Juice Beauty. Good job Allure!

    • These have been two great months to be a subscriber! 🙂
