FYI - Mishimask Monthly Box is ending their subscriptions after the January box:

Please note our Mishimask subscription has been discontinued. January Mishimask is our last subscription. =( Your Monthly Mishimask subscription will automatically cancelled. No further charges will be billed and no more box will be shipped.

We believe Mishimask is a great service but it just didn't get the traction we wanted, and it's not feasible for our business to continue the service. We will focus more on growing Mishibox and getting more/better products for our online shop. If there is more demand in the future, we will consider re-doing Mishimask or a similar subscription service.

Thank you for your support for Mishimask!

Snails are actually put in stressful conditions in order to produce mucin. I didn’t know that before but now I won’t use it.

At least they’ll be focusing more on Mishi Box. I recently re-subscribed with a 6-month subscription, and have only received one box so far. That’d be cool if they got even better than what they already are!

I almost got this box, so thankful I didn’t as I would have subscribed for a while. I think part of the problem was too many variables. Like a snail mucus mask…..pass. Give me more cute stuff like Sailor Moon masks, Disney masks, fruit masks, etc.

It’s possible that it wasn’t even snail mucus to begin with. So many companies make sheet masks, and most of the liquid in them is just witch hazel. It’s possible that what they are really saying is, “snail mucus contains chemical XYZ, which is good for your skin. So our mask also contains chemical XYZ (which we synthesized in the lab from other source materials or from chemical precursors). No snails were actually harmed… It’s just the same chemical that’s found in snail mucus.”

Snail mucin isn’t gross like it sounds. I use it every day as a serum. Just feels like any other serum.
