Dia & Co. is a monthly plus size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 20% discount is applied if I choose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co. may be entirely different than mine!

The always adorable and stylish Dia & Co envelope that I look forward to every month!

Dia and Co December 2017 note

Enclosed in this adorable envelope is a note from my stylist, Natalie, telling me why she selected the pieces she did for me along with some helpful styling tips. Her selections were less festive holiday pieces and more post-holiday comedown/relaxed items this month.

Dia and Co December 2017 invoice

The other form is an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. The savings would be $91.48 if I did decide to keep everything! That isn’t too shabby! That amount in savings is like getting the East Adeline dress and the necklace for free!

Mellany Belted Cardigan by Fashion to Figure

Leopard print is one of my number one go-to patterns, so I was pleased initially to see this sweater. I am lacking cute sweaters and have picked up a few recently because I am perpetually freezing these days. This sweater is extremely cozy, soft, and stretchy. I also like that it is over-sized. The negative is the length and the tie because it looked somewhat like a bathrobe on me. I paired this belted cardigan with a black mini dress, tights, and biker boots. This sweater would spruce up casual jeans and a t-shirt look or pair well with a button down and skirt for an office ensemble.

This was far and away my favorite item in this month’s box. This dress is incredibly flattering due to the wrap style. The floral pattern reminded me of a dress that Vickie Miner (played by Janeane Garofalo) wore in the movie, Reality Bites. I may have to run into the nearby convenience store and dance to The Knack’s “My Sharona” for my own kicks in this number! This dress’s fit is spot on, greatly in part to the stretchy fabric along with the cut. I paired this dress with black tights, olive green booties, and the necklace Natalie also selected for me. This would look fantastic styled with velvet platform heels, fishnets, and a leather biker jacket for a romantic, yet tough babe look. It could also pair great with flats and a jean jacket in the spring for a casual Sunday Funday look.

Gold and Ivory Sansa Necklace

This necklace is bold yet understated all at once. The delicate gold chain has gold bead segments that link it together. The length of the chain is on the long side, but that is beneficial if you want to layer other necklaces for an even bolder look. The earth tone baubles are framed in hammered gold and rhinestone accents that amp up an otherwise casual everyday piece. This necklace isn’t necessarily my style, but it does compliment the dress Natalie selected for me rather well.

I can sense Natalie sent me this top because it has such a 70s vintage feel. The kimono style top with flowy sleeves, faux lace-up detail on the chest, and the floral print all contribute to the retro feel. That is why I am such a fan of the East Adeline brand. I met the brand’s head designer at Curvy Con and told her I owned a dress (from a previous box) from the line and loved it so much because it reminded me of a modern day Mrs. Roper from Three’s Company piece. I meant it as a compliment, but I sense she may not have taken it that way. I stand by this statement. The pieces always have a retro meets modern Boho aesthetic. This blouse has minimum stretch, but the cut and fit are meant to be a bit roomier and flowier. I paired the top with the perfectly matched pants Natalie sent me, but I foresee this looking fantastic with a black mini skirt and knee-high go-go boots or black skinny jeans and booties as well.

The selection of these pants was a spot on choice from Natalie to pair with the East Adeline top, so big kudos to her! These pants are a gorgeous berry burgundy shade, but sadly they are too big on me. They are so baggy in my legs. I am curious to see what a size down would look like. I love the color of these pants, but other than sizing, I am kind of thrown off by the weird diagonal seam design on the thighs. I could do without it, but otherwise, these pants are cute. They have ample stretch as well. I could foresee styling these with a band shirt, faux fur coat, and booties for a sassy casual ensemble.

Verdict: There were some hits or misses in terms of style and sizing, but ultimately I enjoyed this month’s offerings in my Dia & Co box. The East Adeline pieces were the real MVPs of this box. They reflected my style best and their fit was the most spot on. Sadly, the Fashion to Figure cardigan and RWAN pants were awkwardly big on me, but that is not my stylist’s fault as I am all over the place with my sizing in clothing these days. The necklace was my least favorite piece, but I even appreciate it being sent in this box since it paired well with the items my stylist, Natalie, selected for me. Dia & Co remains one of my favorite boxes I receive because their price points are some of the most reasonable of the clothing subscription boxes I review. The $20 styling fee is sensible considering if you keep any item in the box it is applied. The convenience of having clothing sent to you to try on without leaving the house can’t be beat either, especially since the return shipping is free as well!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Dia & Co curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $285.90. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $194.42 for the whole box. Ultimately, that is roughly a 32% discount.

What price range did you select ?

Nicole Rieder

I have requested higher costing items too at times. But I typically keep it in the lower range.

Nicole Rieder

I went with $50-$100 range.

Vanessa

I love that dress! I usually don’t use the belts on longer cardigans, but I tie them on the back and I think it gives the cardigan a little character and definition in the back.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

This one doesn’t have the belt attached, but I can see how that would add definition for sure!

Alex

Ooooh this was a really nice selection. You look fabulous in everything, per usual. I would live in that leopard cardigan. It’s so cute and looks comfy and pretty.

P.S. The Ms. Roper comment is a very highly compliment!

Thank you so much, Alex! And right? I never understood how Mr. Roper was so indifferent to that stylish minx!

I think you are quite a bit younger than I am, but your pop culture references are spot-on. I love reading your reviews!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, AmyM! I am a pop culture vulture, especially anything from the 60s and 70s. I was born in the 1980s, but I grew up with a HUGE crush on Davy Jones from the Monkees and watched Patty Duke, Dobie Gillis, The Monsters, and Mary Tyler Moore like it was my job. I feel like that has all really impacted my styles and tastes. I am glad you enjoy my reviews because I definitely love writing them!

That dress has to be my favorite item I have seen reviewed on this site. I love it. The shirt is nice, reminds me of the kind of style to wear on nervous days, unique style just gives a little pep when you have meetings, etc.

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Linz! Yes, both were fantastic pieces for sure.

The Orlando Wrap Dress looked so pretty on you!

Caligirl

The dress and top look fantastic on you a must keep.

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Caligirl! Those were hard to send back for sure!

Oh Nicole, this is a must-keep-everything box! Exchange the pants for a smaller size for sure, sell/swap the necklace if you really don’t want care for it but everything else is amaze-balls on you!

Forget the bathrobe gray belt that came with the sweater and replace it with your go-to black retro western belt and that cardi is a winter snuggly keeper for sure.

I never (and I do mean *never*) see a box where everything is must-keep but this is it, IMHO. Besides, the full box discount makes the necklace and leopard cardi essentially freebies!

I tend to agree as this is the BEST box EVER!! Love the flowered dress on you as it compliments your haircolor!! The flowered top was amazing on your also.

I too would send the pants back..waay to big on you..and the necklace..YUCK!!

While you always make everything look amazing..there are some things that just aren’t “you”..and it’s nice that you let us give you our feedback..:)

I’m thinking about doing this, but it seems like a hit or miss at times. How do they find the stylists that come up with what they’ll put in your box?

Nicole Rieder

Maddie in PA, it is such a killer deal! I am still recovering from the holidays, so I had to pass. I say this… but then last night I ordered a pair of Elton John style rhinestone sunglasses. So. Haha.

The dress was so dreamy, that was the hardest to return! It is so flattering on!

Reply ButtonReply

Maddie in PA

I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! Um, I mean Elton John rhinestone sunglasses shopping going on in here!

Too bad you passed on that dress – I’m going to pretend I don’t know that… 😉

Michelle

Everything but the sweater!!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Yes, the sweater was just too long. But I loved the grey a final print. And it was cozy. But not my fave. Thanks Michelle, for checking out my review!

Amy

You need the dress and top-they look like they were made for you!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Amy! It was so hard sending those back!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Please tell me you’re keeping the dress! The top is beautiful too but that dress is a knockout!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

I wanted to Jessica, but I ultimately sent them back. 😭😭😭

Jessica

You have more willpower than I do. Can you include a note to your stylist that says “hey love the dress, can’t afford right now. Send again in a few months?” I’m not sure what the fabric feels like but it could totally be rocked in the spring!

Dani

That wrap dress looks ridiculously amazing on you. You seriously rock everything they send you!

Thank you so much, Dani! I really appreciate you reading my reviews and the kind words!
