Baby Bedtime Box November 2017 -0005

A detailed booklet was included in my box outlining each product and brand in great detail. I found this to be extremely helpful since I like to research all products before I use them on my son. This month is really focused around creating a routine that your child can be apart of and understand, plus something that the whole family can do together!

Daytime Nighttime by William Low - Retail Value $16.99 (found here for $8.98)

This book is filled with the most gorgeous illustrations! My son was drawn to the bold images on each page right away and loved that the story talks about so many different animals. This book takes us from day to night, discussing what we can see in the daytime versus the nighttime. My son obviously has an early bedtime so he really loved hearing what you can see at night and why they don't come out during the day. This is another great book to add to our growing collection and a great story to read before bed!

Baby Bedtime Yoga - Retail Value $2.00? (No retail value listed)

This little sheet is a helpful guide to yoga poses that are great to practice before bed. They focus on stretching and calming your body, which is so important to do before heading off to sleep. While the poses are relatively easy to follow, my son was not having anything to do with this little routine. I honestly think it got him more excited than calm since I was doing it with him, he most likely thought we were playing. He might just be a little too young, but I would love to introduce this to him again when he is a bit older. For now, I think I will be using this routine for myself as a way to wind down in the evening.

Bedtime Routine Chart - Retail Value $6.00? (price estimate based on similar product)

From my own experience with my son, I know how important it is to have a solid bedtime routine. Now that he is almost two, I can feel the need to change up that routine a bit, and we will absolutely have to once we transition him to his big boy bed. This fun little chart allows your little one to engage with their bedtime routine in a fun way by adding a sticker to check off each step before bed. By doing this, I can see how the routine would quickly become ingrained in their mind and become second nature. Plus, who doesn't love stickers?! While my son isn't there yet to really understand and enjoy this chart set, I know that he will be ready soon, and I will have these ready to go whenever we need to start really going over his nightly routine with him.

Helianthus Herbals: Herbal Baby Bath Blend, 2 oz. - Value $11.99

This handmade herbal bath blend is beautiful and smells so fresh. The herbs were selected to calm, moisturize, smooth, and heal. In this blend, you will find lavender flowers, rose petals, chamomile, and calendula. While I loved the smell of this blend, I don't know if it was the right product for us. My son ended up putting a lot of the herbs in his mouth and clean up was a bit of a mess since we have so many toys in his tub for him to play with during bath time. The herbs were sticking to his toys and it was hard to get everything cleaned quickly. I do think this would have been great to use when he was in his infant tub since it is a smaller space and there wasn't the worry of him eating the blend. While I don't think I will be using it for my son, I do love the scent of this and plan to use it for my own bath time to relax with.

Smile Tooth 2-Minute Timer - Retail Value $3.79

Now that my son has almost all of his teeth, we are really focused on proper teeth care! I didn't realize how tricky it would be to teach your little one how to brush their teeth, but it honestly is hard to get him to brush at all and not just suck on the toothbrush. He was instantly drawn to this timer so we were hopeful that this would do the trick! We have been using it for a few days now, and he loves watching the yellow sand go down while he brushes happily away. Such a fun product!

Crayola My First Canvas and Crayons - Retail Value $14.94 (currently out of stock)

I absolutely love this canvas set! It comes with these little holders so the crayons don't slip out of your little one's hands during bath time, but they also help to teach the proper grip on a crayon. So fun! I was a little surprised to see that the set only came with one drawing, but it is sticky so it can stay in the tub as long as you want. The crayons wash off the paper easily and come off of your kiddo without a problem! My son didn't seem too interested in this during his bath, he just really loves splashing around. I decided to take it out of the bath and let him just color with it in his playroom which he loved! I really enjoyed it too since the crayons are easy to clean up and he can reuse the image over and over!

Verdict: This was a very unique Baby Bedtime Box! This month really focused on the overall routine and getting the whole family involved, including your little one. While my son didn't really take to a lot of the items this month, I did think that the products as a whole were great! He might just be a little young for some of the items, but I plan on keeping everything to try again as he gets closer to two. Having a book come in a box is always a huge win, and my son is still obsessed with the one we received in our Baby Bedtime Box last month. A few of the items didn't have a value listed on the monthly card, but I did calculate an overall value of $55.71, or you could say that the average value per six items this month would be $6.16. Overall I am continuing to be delighted by my Baby Bedtime Boxes and am learning new ways to improve our sleep routine!

You can buy little ‘tea bags’ for bath tea and bath petals, I got mine on ebay I think. Just in case you wanted to use that product in the future. I agree it’s messy if it’s floating about. 🙂

That’s a great idea, thank you!

I always thought you steep the tea and pour the tea into your bath, not toss the herbs themselves into the bath. That would be hell on drains, and like you said, clean up. But, I don’t even have a bathtub 🙂 I love all the subs for babies/toddlers. I wish they had stuff like this when mine were small.
