There was a full-color information card with more details about the products and brands included in the box. I thought it was quite informative.

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Beauty Balm 1

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Beauty Balm 2

Rose Damascus Beauty Balm by W.S. Badger Company, Inc. (1 oz) – Retail Value $16.99

This is quite a thick product (basically solid at room temperature). This can be used as a face treatment once a week or as an eye cream – it’s pretty versatile. I’m not in need of extra facial moisture right now, but I have some places with chafed skin on my legs and very dry elbows and this seems to be helping there. Although some of the products in RosePost Box will be vegan, this one happens to contain beeswax. It has a rose fragrance that’s moderated with some other scents and it comes out kind of “green” in the end.

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Lip Balm

Rose Organic Lip Balm by Anitako Organics (0.15 oz) – Retail Value $5

This is from a Canadian Etsy seller. The color here is quite similar to my natural lip color, so it doesn’t really show up much on me, but this applied smoothly and didn’t get all chunky like some other handmade lip balms that contain coconut oil. (This one also has beeswax.) It was moisturizing and the scent (more of a traditional rose scent) stayed with me for a little while.

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Serum 1

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Serum 2

Rose Otto Nourishing Bio Damascena Face Serum by Alteya Organics (0.68 fl oz) – Retail Value $55

This has steam processed organic Bulgarian rose oil in addition to some other high-quality extracts and oils. I’ve only used this a few times so far so I can’t say much about long-term results, but I love getting a full-sized container. You really only need a few drops so a little will go a long way and I should be able to make a decision about a purchase by the time I get to the end of the bottle. This does absorb well and was compatible with the other steps in my skincare routine. The scent is lovely (if you are a fan of rose, of course) and great for layering with other rose-fragranced products.

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Toner

Awake Rose Toning Mist by Niu Body (2 fl oz) – Retail Value $12

Rose water has been advertised as a toner for ages. It’s very gentle. This also has witch hazel, which is in a lot of toners, and aloe vera leaf juice (has some salicylic acid which is good for breakouts), and I really thought it did a nice job of removing excess oils from my skin and addressing some of my current skincare needs. (The weather where I live has been swinging in all different directions lately and this is sufficient for my oily/combination skin in hot weather but non-drying if it happens to get cold again.)

RosePost Box Fall 2017 Postcards

“Winter Roses” and “Pink Vespa” Art Postcards by Georgianna Lane – Listed Value $4

These are postcards and the Georgianna Lane Etsy shop only has blank notecards so I am using the value from the information card. It seems reasonable based on the notecard prices. Seeing as there were four full-sized beauty/skincare products in the fall box, I am totally OK with a few little extras like this. I have been weirdly into pink things lately and I’m going to pin these up somewhere to brighten my day as we get further into fall and winter.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $93 for the Fall 2017 RosePost Box. I think that is a wonderful value. It is definitely above the price of an individual box and it is also above the promised $75+ value. (I appreciate getting accurate prices on the information card, as well!) The products all fit into the niche of rose-scented beauty items and all seemed high-quality (plus, they can be used by anyone, regardless of skin tone or hair type). I learned about some new Etsy artisans and indie brands, as well, which is always fun. I am pretty much homebound at the moment and not feeling too glamorous (just had surgery) and this was a lovely way to brighten my day and pamper myself a little bit.

I can always tell it’s a Ragan review when the writing is thoughtful, precise, and provides detailed descriptions of product ingredients. (Particularly info about whether or not a product is vegan/vegetarian!) I love it! Best wishes to you in your recovery. (And gosh, this box is tempting me now…)

I enjoy lightly scented rose things like by Terry lip balm but if the scent is too strong or too fake it gives me a migraine. This is definitely a sub to watch though. Thanks for the great review and hope you have a speedy recovery from your surgery.

Loving anything rose scented, I’ll definitely be adding this to my list of boxes to potentially subscribe to. 🙂 I like that it’s a quarterly sub too!

Thanks for the review! I just ordered a box using the coupon code, $41 for my first box. I love rose scent, and have been a fan of the few rose oil products I’ve tried before. I believe I will use all the products in this Fall box. Due to product overload, I’ve stopped subscribing to most boxes, (including my CatLady box, have loved your reviews of that box 😻.) But this is a little different, so I’m excited to give it a try!
