FabFitFun Winter Box BB Dakota Poncho

BB Dakota Poncho in Black – Retail Value $70

FabFitFun Winter Box BB Dakota Poncho Label

This item is available in 3 different colors. If you are a FabFitFun select member (annual subscriber) you will be able to select the color of your choice starting November 7th!

This poncho is open in the front and drapes beautifully.

Here are the care instructions: Machine wash cold, no tumble dry, ironing OK on delicate setting, dry cleaning OK.

(The fabric is 65% acrylic, 35% polyester.)

It features a blanket stitch edge and just like a blanket, it’s super soft and cozy! (Perfect to keep at a chilly office!)

And, it is reversible!

Here’s a better idea of the size of the poncho:

(And you can see the little tag you might want to remove on the reverse side.)

8 Other Reasons 9 Lives Choker in Rose Gold – Retail Value $58

This item is available in Rose Gold or Silver. If you are a FabFitFun select member (annual subscriber) you will be able to select the color of your choice starting November 7th!

I love delicate jewelry, and I actually had been eyeing a similar style necklace at Bauble Bar, so this is perfect! And my favorite feature of this necklace? It has a 4-inch extender, so you can wear it as a necklace or a choker.

Here it is at the longest length:

And here it is at the shortest length:

I think this is my favorite piece of FabFitFun jewelry ever!

Doucce Cosmetics Freematic Face Palette in Nude – Value $70

This item is available in Nude or Smokey. If you are a FabFitFun select member (annual subscriber) you will be able to select the color of your choice starting November 7th!

These palettes are magnetic so you can swap out any of the pans:

This palette includes 5 shimmer eyeshadows, 3 mattes, and a highlighter. Here they are swatched:

The pigment is good throughout on both these eyeshadows, they were easy to blend, and I had minimal fallout.

Homemade by Ayesha Curry Ceramic Mug – Value $16

All subscribers will receive one of three designs. Designs will be randomly selected. (I’ll show you all the options at the end of the review!)

This cute mug is 15 oz and microwave and dishwasher safe! And “I’d rather be in bed,” really speaks to me! 🙂

(Did you know Ayesha Curry has her own meal subscription box? She does it all!)

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate – 1.7 oz Value $75

(Good to know for swapping – this item has an inner foil seal.)

All subscribers will receive this item.

I’ve sampled this a few times before thanks to subscription boxes, and I love it.

First, it’s a super quick-use beauty product. You only need to use it for 30 seconds (and you can leave it on for up to two minutes) and apply it twice a week. And it’s paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free!

The exfoliant particles are super fine, so it’s gentle on my skin, and I love the cinnamon scent, too. And the best part? It left my skin feeling super soft and smooth.

Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks – Retail Value $19

All subscribers will receive one of three colors. Colors will be randomly selected. (I’ll show you all the options at the end of the review!)

Cozy, fuzzy socks! What a perfect Winter box item! I’m already picturing myself curled up with a book, these socks, and tea in my new mug!

(FabFitFun recommends washing them on the cold setting and tumble dry low to ensure the aloe infused part lasts 25-30 washes.)

Ahava Mineral Hand Cream – Retail Value $33

(Good to know for swapping – this item has an inner foil seal.)

All subscribers will receive this item.

Another perfect winter box item! AND! FabFitFun sent us the extra-large version! And it’s another great beauty product!

The formula is super hydrating, but it somehow still absorbs almost immediately – no greasiness!

Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle Energizing Eye Masks – (Set of 8) Value $16

This is the Beauty Choice item. All subscribers will have the opportunity to pick between these eye masks or Nelson J. Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Hair Mask in Coconut (Value $23).

These eye masks stay on easily and they are unscented – two things that I always look for in an eye mask! The formula is made of collagen and minerals and is designed to help fight fine lines, puffiness, and under eye circles.

FabFitFun TV Fitness Ball with Jillian Michales Videos – Value $16

This is the Wellness Choice item. All subscribers will have the opportunity to pick this Fitness Ball or This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (Value $29).

This exercise ball is paired with exclusive workouts from Jillian Michaels that you can access through FabFitFun TV. (If you are a FabFitFun subscriber, you have access!)

The ball comes with everything you need to inflate + deflate it, so it’s easy to bring in your suitcase when you’re traveling:

Here it is in hand to give you a better sense of scale:

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $373! (And this box is the lowest value variation you could receive!) Amazing! This is my favorite FabFitFun box of all time! (Fall 2016 previously held that title.) I can’t believe how many awesome items are in this box. It’feels like a perfect cozy/luxe box for Winter, too.

You can totally wear this as a scarf, too!

And here are the other Choice options:

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (Value $29)

This sleep spray has a lavender + chamomile scent blend. (No surprise, it is very relaxing!)

Nelson J. Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Hair Mask in Coconut (Value $23)

This has a beachy, coconut scent, and you can use it in different ways:

  • Leave it in for 5 minutes and set with a blow dryer
  • Or apply post shampoo and let sit for a minute before rinsing
  • Apply throughout hair before swimming to protect against chlorine + salt water damage.

I went with the quicker 1-minute option, and it left my hair feeling just a bit softer!

Ok, that’s it! This might be the longest review ever! Hope it helps you pick your items! Let me know if I can answer any questions for you!

  1. I assume you’re aware, but just in case, I just saw online that the 8 other reasons website is using your photos of this necklace on their page for it. Not going to link in case that marks this as spam, but definitely check it out if you didn’t approve that.

  2. Love, love, love this box! I debated and bit the bullet getting this as my first from FFF, and was not disappointed. A couple things I could do without (mug, pillow spray…though I wouldn’t have cared about the ball, either), but I’ve been looking for a poncho like this, anyway, am always looking for a great cream for my super dry hands, and have a new favorite necklace and eye shadow! The other items are great, too, but just from my newfound favorites, totally worth the price. Only two spoilers into the Spring box, and I’m already sold to purchase again!

  3. Has anyone been able to figure out a good way to make the BB Dakota shawl not shed? I really like it but it leaves white fuzzies alllll over everything I wear under it. I’ve tried washing it twice and freezing it overnight (random hack I found online) but still getting tons of shedding. :-/

  4. So cute!! Jamie from “Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug plus One” was wearing the BB Dakota poncho in the navy and burgundy version in last night’s episode. I recognized it right away!!

    • And she rocked the grey and black one later in the episode!!

  5. I sent my hubby a link to this for Xmas and he accidentally bought the Editors Edition, everything was different, lots of good stuff and a really pretty cozy shawl, but it sheds like crazy! I am kinda bummed that I didn’t even get the one as described, not sure how he got directed to that one, oh well.

  6. I’m disappointed we couldn’t choose a mug design. The stay in bed one was the only one I liked but I would’ve been ok with the love latte one. Instead I got the coming in hot one, which I think was the most unattractive design. Nevertheless, FFF always gives great value and variety so I can’t complain too much.

    • Hi Ying,

I have the love you latte one. Would you be open to a trade? I was hoping to get that for a friend who uses that catch phrase ALL the time!

  7. I love my new winter box but my mug was broken, right in the box! What do I do?

    • Have you contacted their CS? they’re usually pretty good about replacing damaged items

  8. I finally opened my box today. This box is always a treat but I was a little disappointed with a few things. I was hoping the eyeshadow palette would be better quality than other products I’ve tried from doucce but sadly it has tons of fall out and glitter in several shadows. The hair mask seemed a lot smaller than I would expect also. The necklace pleasantly surprised me. It looks very pretty on even though it is very light and doesn’t look like much in the package. The poncho was actually great. I got the black and it feels nice and looks good on! I’m seasonal so I don’t get to pick the variant items but it seems like I always end up with the colors or patterns that work for me even though they may not be my initial first choice. Overall good box and great value!

    • I was supposed to have received my box on 12/07 rescheduled for 12/09, apparently it’s been lost by FedEx and I was told a replacement would be sent and it would be 10 business days. I guess I’ll get it by New Year’s Day.

  9. Obsessed with this box! Love it!

  10. I received my box on Thursday. Unfortunately it was missing one of my add-ons. I contacted customer service and they replied the following day, apologizing and said they would ship it out within 10 days.

Random question/observation: does anyone else think the Exfolikate smells like sweet pickles? I like sweet pickles and all, but it made me laugh because it seems so random!

  11. I’m cancelling after my annual is over. They are dishonest and their CS is horrible.

  12. Does anyone know much about DOUCCE cosmetics? I am trying to find out if there are parabens in the eyeshadow………

    • I looked on their website and this was all I could find.

“Do Doucce products contain any animal products?
We are continually evaluating alternatives to animal-derived ingredients and have replaced many ingredients with vegetable derived substitutes. However, certain Doucce products may contain animal derivatives, such as lanolin. If you would like further information as to which Doucce products contain animal derivatives please contact customer care and we will provide that information.
Why do some Doucce products include parabens?
Doucce has made it it’s mission to eliminate parabens from most of its products. That being said, it is important to use preservatives to prevent bacterial and fungal contamination. With the high level of natural ingredients in our formulations, the absence of preservatives would require our products to be refrigerated and would need to be used within approximately two weeks after production. Additionally, we strive to ensure our products do not present any health risk from contamination by harmful microorganisms by using preservatives such as parabens.
Parabens have been used for over 70 years and are approved by the US FDA for use in a wide variety of consumer products, including foods and beverages. Parabens provide a critical role in frontline defense for preventing disease and infection in humans by preventing fungal and bacterial contamination, and are recognized as safe by the World Health Organization as well as government agencies around the world. In the United States, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) expert panel (an independent body of internationally recognized medical and scientific experts in safety evaluation) has reviewed parabens and concluded that they are safe for use in cosmetic products. All our products are allergy tested and dermatologist tested.”

    • Looked on their website under customer service it explains that they do have parabens in some products.

  13. I received mine today & it’s missing the necklace 😟

  14. I had add-ons and was charged 11/17, said it would ship within 10 days, still says processing. Has anyone else gotten theirs?
