Wantable Makeup is one of several different subscription boxes offered by Wantable, including Wantable Intimates Collection, Style Edit, Fitness Edit, and Men’s Fitness Edit. At the beginning of the subscription, you fill out a fairly in-depth questionnaire to customize what you will receive in your box. You can update these preferences at any time from your profile.

Here’s what they picked for me this month:

Liberty Republic Spellbound Nail Lacquer, Snap Dragon - Cost to keep: $5.54 (Retail Value $14)

I can’t seem to find this line of nail lacquers online anywhere. Maybe they are no longer in production? Anyway, I like this formula because it is thin and dries quickly so I can put on multiple coats without having to wait around forever. It has good staying power and is 5-free. This shade, Snap Dragon, is a coral-red color that is bright and fun. The square cap cover should come off so you can use just the regular cap, but I couldn’t get mine off. You can see it is a little crooked so it is probably just wedged on there.

Billion Dollar Brows Brows on Point Micro Pencil, Light Brown - Cost to keep: $6.33 (Retail Value $16)

This automatic brow pencil has a spooly brush at one end and a micro fine tip pencil on the other. It is perfect for getting a realistic look because the strokes look like hairs. It can also be blended to get a softer look. The texture is almost like a powdery pencil but doesn’t smudge and lasts all day. This shade was too light for my brows but they have a darker shade I will consider because I like the pencil so much. Plus, I like a pencil with the spooly attached so I don’t have to carry around a separate tool.

Billion Dollar Brows Brow Duo Pencil - Cost to keep: $7.12 (Retail Value $18)

Oh, I like that they included two complementing products from the same company! This is a non-mechanical conceal and highlight pencil for the brows. Both ends are creamy and blend down to a velvety finish. The highlighter doesn’t have any shimmer and would be good for highlighting the face as well. The concealer end is great for cleaning up the edges of my brow and to give a more defined shape. I have to sharpen this when it gets dull, but I get a lot of use out between each sharpening. Again, like the brow pencil, I like having a dual-ended tool. It helps keep my on-the-go makeup applications simple.

29 Cosmetics Cream Foundation, Vintage Medium - Cost to keep: $17.01 (Retail Value $43)

This cream-to-powder foundation comes in a compact that holds both a shallow pan of foundation and an applicator sponge. It’s always nice to have a tool built in but it also makes for a bulky compact. The foundation has SPF of 15 in the form of titanium dioxide but doesn’t leave any white cast. I’m not loving this formula for my whole face because I feel like it tends to build up on any dry or flaky areas that I have. However, I like it as an under eye concealer because it is buildable and matte in texture without looking cakey. The shade is a pretty good match for me right now when I have a little summer color still. $43 seems a little steep considering some of my favorite foundations run in the $20-$25 range.

Swatches from top to bottom: eyebrow pencil, brow highlight and conceal, and foundation.

Here I have on the foundation all over my face and overall I like the semi-matte finish and shade. I used the brow pencil to fill in my arches. I applied the highlight under my brow and the concealer above and then blended in to clean up and highlight the look. I got a nice subtle look which is my style.

Verdict: This month’s Wantable Makeup Collection was ok. Even though the formula wasn’t my favorite, I was pleased that the foundation shade matched so well. I know how hard it is to do that with this type of box. I like the nail lacquer but I feel like it may be a product that is not readily available due to maybe being discontinued. It was nice to have a set of brow products included that work so well together. The value of this collection is $91 with free shipping. That is higher than last month and about 2.5 times the cost of the box. Even though this subscription box will be ending December 1st (read about it here), I hope they finish out strong.

I quit a few years ago, as the quality started to decline. I always keep an eye on this sub, in the hopes that they would have a comeback. Sad this is ending, but I can see why. In the 4 years I subscribed, the 4-5 full sized items was NEVER 5. Not once. I would get so many repeat brands and colors I would request not to get. In the beginning, I was introduced to LUXURY brands which I am greatful for, but that ended quickly. I’m curious, Tiffany, have you ever received 5 items in the 4-5 item box promise?

Hi Taren, I have received 4 full sized items in each box since I started with this subscription in June. Some items have been 2-in-one products but to me, that still counts as 1 item.

Yeah, I got that exact polish 2 years ago, and I’ve seen it in boxes ever since.

*in Wantable boxes ever since.

I got that foundation a month ago, and I thought the $43 price seemed steep as well, especially since the box actually had a $34 price tag on it. Not a fan of dishonesty in subscriptions, so I cancelled. There’s that, and the fact that they just recycle a few products. I see why this is ending.
