I found the way this box was packaged to be just lovely! Even though I knew about how many items to expect, I was still taken by surprise at how full the box looked after unwrapping its neatly stickered tissue paper.

This is a nice little welcome card from Rose War Panty Power. It mentions that this month's box is focused on the body and soul, and with an image like that, my soul is already starting to feel soothed!

Youmita Cotton-blend Boyshort Underwear — Value $3?

I am unabashedly an enthusiastic fan of cotton underwear, so I was pretty pumped to see that a pair was included in this box! Undergarments are such personal pieces that I was worried I wouldn't like what I'd receive, but I tried these on right away and they're definitely going to be added to the rotation. Quick tip: it's a known fact that the breathability of cotton has positive implications for vaginal health, so for those who don't typically go for this type of undies day-to-day, it might not be a bad idea to keep them in the back of your drawer for lounging or in case an infection comes along.

René Rofé Lace Thong — Value $10

All that said, I won't say no to an opportunity to fancy up right down to my skivvies. This pink lace thong is ultra-feminine and very sultry! It's a nylon-spandex blend and is mostly sheer. I'll be saving this for a special occasion, for sure.

Natracare Organic 100% Cotton Tampons with Applicator — Value 2.41 (Buy a 16-pack of regular size for $6.42)

Oh, how I love organic cotton tampons! No, they don't feel any different to wear than other tampons do, but it gives me peace of mind knowing that no random chemicals are being absorbed by my body. These ones have cute daisies printed on their paper wrappers, which made me smile.

Rose War Panty Power September 2017

Six tampons in two different sizes were included in my box: three regular and three super. I took one of each out of the wrapper so you could see the cardboard applicators—the regular is on top and the super is on the bottom. I typically wear both sizes throughout my period (super on the first few days and regular on the last day or two), so while six isn't enough to get me through my entire period, these will certainly be useful for me.

Assorted Yejimiin Organic Cotton Pads — Value 5? (Buy a 16-pack of 25cm pads on Amazon for $11.93)

Next up, a variety of pads and one panty liner. Just from eyeballing them, it seems I received 2 large pads, 3 medium ones, and one thin panty liner. These are from Korean brand Yejimiin, and while those who have done lots of research on organic feminine hygiene products may have heard of this brand, I found pricing and availability to be somewhat limited.

Rose War Panty Power September 2017

I opened one up so you could see the pretty sticker on the inside. It's a pretty classic pad, with a nice cotton feel to the inside. While I don't typically use pads throughout my period, I have done some experimentation with menstrual cups and like to use them as a backup while I get the hang of it. The panty liner will come in handy for the very last day of my period, while my discharge is getting back to normal.

Mes Amies Soaps Sleepy Bath Soaks — Value $2.99

Hello, dreamy! This is a handmade tube of bath soaks, and holy smokes does it smell good (that's lavender for ya, I guess). The tube touts all-natural ingredients and a promise that it was made with love. The Mes Amies Soaps website mentions that this product is vegan and cruelty-free, which I guess is easy to achieve with plant-based ingredients, but it's nice to be reassured nonetheless.

The Crème Pink Lemonade Face Mask — Value $3

If you want to get serious about your self-love situation, you could apply this face mask before hopping in the tub to soak in your lavender salts. The back of the package mentions that the active ingredient is lemon, which helps with acne and acne scars, helps to fade age spots, and brightens the skin. Sign me up! I didn't give this mask a try in the bath, but rather just while relaxing on my bed on a Sunday afternoon. It smelled delightful and was wonderfully cooling for the entire ~20 minutes that I had it on my face. The directions tell you not to wash your face after peeling the mask off, but I found that after about 10 minutes my face felt a tiny bit sticky, so I did give it a quick rinse. Even after that, my skin was left feeling really soft and smooth and refreshed.

Bling Bling Nude Nail Glass Nail Shiner — Value $12.77

Check out this snazzy nail tool! Nail enthusiasts, forgive me if this is a basic nail kit necessity, but it was new to me and I found it to be super cool. Its function is to shape and shine nails; it's kind of like a nail file, but it's made of glass and its 'rough' section is very fine. It comes with a frosted plastic storage case.

And now for a little somethin' you can wear. I loved the little arrow stamp on this canvas baggie so much that I almost didn't care what came inside of it!

Designs by Katie Leigh Camden Bracelet — Value $12

Turns out, I actually love what's inside of it: this simple slip-on bracelet with wooden beads and one feature red bead. The Designs by Katie Leigh website calls this a diffuser bracelet—the idea is to drop a little essential oil onto the beads. Actually, my housemate (who is a guy) really liked this bracelet when he saw it on me, so I gave it to him. He was concerned that the red bead might appear a bit too feminine, but ultimately decided it didn't bother him and now he sports it on the daily.

Vitamin C Candies — Value $1?

This box is just never-ending, isn't it? Included here are two single-serve Vitamin C candies. I was unable to identify the brand to see what the deal is with these guys, but I'll tell you what, they taste delicious! They have a lemonade flavor to them, which was cutely on-theme with the face mask included in this box.
Rose War Panty Power September 2017

Chocolate-covered Matcha Tea Snack Cake — Value 2?

And, finally (drumroll, please), this curious snack cake! As with the candies, the packaging is printed in a language with unfamiliar characters, so I was unable to find where this cake is from or where else it could be purchased, but I was really intrigued and excited to dig in.

Rose War Panty Power September 2017

It tasted more or less like a Hostess cake, but with matcha-flavored filling, aka it was delicious. Matcha isn't for everyone, but those who like the flavor will almost definitely enjoy this cake.

VerdictMy thoughts? Two thumbs up for the Rose War Panty Power box! Given the wide variety of offerings, I feel like there's truly something for everyone in this box. Plus, prior to even calculating the estimated value of this box (which came to around $54, by the way), I felt like I was getting my money's worth just sorting through the contents. When you consider that some women spend around $10 per month on tampons and pads alone, the 12 feminine hygiene products in this box take a big dent out of that cost. Plus, they're sent alongside all sorts of other self-care treats that make the whole experience a heck of a lot more enjoyable. I look forward to October's box!

Oh, I’m so happy to hear you like what you see here, Gracie! I really hope it helps ease you during that time of month, and I have a feeling it will (it totally did for me). Cheers to self-love!

This box is awesome. Organic cotton underwear is so pricey and all the extras are so nice. I think the price is very fair.

Christen Russo

Hey Wendy! Quick note: the underwear is a cotton blend (with elastane), but not organic. I’m sorry if I misled you! I still felt as though this box was a great value and I hope you agree. 🙂

A quick plug (hehe!) For cotton tampons: cotton is the preferred material to use to prevent toxic shock syndrome, but some polyesters are cheaper, and since most big- name tampon companies don’t tell you their tampon composition, I always buy the slightly more expensive 100% cotton ones. Costco is a good place to get them at a lower rate, or one of the many sub boxes that provides them! And no, I don’t work for any of those places.

Natracare tampons are not $2.88
At wholefoods market or at sprouts, they (with applicator) are sold for $8.50 for 16 tampons.
So 6 tampons should value $3.20ish 🙂

Hey Christina! Good catch. I realized the link & pricing I had listed was for tampons without an applicator. I’ve adjusted it so that with-applicator tampons are represented. I think they must be cheaper from iHerb.com than they are from Whole Foods & Sprouts. Good to know, eh? 😉

This is such useful info! Thanks for sharing, Michelle. 🙂

That ‘nail shiner’ also goes by the name of ‘buffer’ and they’re fantastic little tools. If you want a manicured look but want a break from/can’t wear nail polish they’re perfect. A lot of guys use them.

I received that glass file in my first RWPP box and it’s EVERYTHING! Shapes and shines nails beautifully.
