Orglamix September 2017 Natural Beauty Subscription Box

Orglamix
2.8 overall rating
4 Ratings | 3 Reviews

Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Night Circus Confetti Soap Bath Salts – Listed Value $12

This smells lovely and is also quite pretty.  I haven’t had time to take a bath since I received this box (busy weekend) but am hoping to soon. I like getting small amounts of bath salts in subscription boxes since I don’t have much time to take baths – this is enough to satisfy the urge every now and then without overwhelming my bathroom cabinet. Bright colors are just a bonus.

Mystic Fortune Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

Guilded Carousel Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

You’ll usually get at least one loose eyeshadow pigment in Orglamix. This month, there were two. I love their formula – I find it blends well and has enough pigment to show up, plus it does last if you put it on over a good primer. The purple one is a little dramatic for me but is a nice accent when used in small amounts. The gold one (should be “gilded,” by the way, rather than “guilded,” but oh well) is an excellent everyday color for me. See swatches below.

Fairy Gloss Liquid Glow – Listed Value $15

This has a very, very subtle shimmer (you can kind of see it in the swatch below).  I don’t think this is something I would use during the day, but applied on the arms or decolletage would look nice during a night out.

Circus Peanut Kissing Potion – Listed Value $12

At first, I thought this was a fragrance rollerball, but it is actually a lip product. It does smell just like a circus peanut candy. It dispenses much better than previous rollerball lip products and also has a subtle shimmer. I’m not totally sold on oil-type products for lips (Lancome Juicy Shakers were a HUGE disappointment for me) but I did find this moisturizing and the rollerball didn’t get stuck with the glittery stuff in there.

Here are swatches of the Kissing Potion, the Fairy Gloss, the Mystic Fortune eyeshadow, and the Guilded Carousel eyeshadow. (I put the eyeshadows on heavy for the photo so they would show up but you can get a somewhat lighter color by using a bit less.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $64 for the September Orglamix subscription box. These products were not in their shop, but the prices from the information card are consistent with similar items in the shop (for instance, all the loose eyeshadows go for about the same amount). I think they did a great job achieving a subtle shimmer with both the Fairy Gloss and the lip rollerball, the eyeshadow colors are fun, and those are about the prettiest bath salts I’ve seen for awhile. This was a fun month for me.
