ABOUT ME Snail Essential Mask Sheet, 1.2 oz - Listed Value $2.00
This mask contains snail mucus filtrate. Let's just take a moment to process that. I've used snail masks in the past, but something about that particular word, 'mucus', on the Mishimask info card made me a little uneasy. The effects more than made up for my hesitation, however. This mask sheet was on the thicker side, so it was able to soak in and hold lots of product (that precious, precious mucus *shudder*). It was a good size for my face and adhered well. Most importantly, it left my skin super hydrated and glowing!
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch, 1.2 oz. - Value $5.00
This mask pack is a little different from the sheet masks that I'm used to receiving. You get a sheet of 24 clear, hydrocolloid patches in 3 different sizes: 7 mm (10 pieces), 10 mm (5 pieces), and 12 mm (9 pieces). They work sort of like blister bandages in that you apply a patch on top of your blemish in order to dry it out and heal the area. Each patch has plenty of adhesive, so I didn't have an issue with them coming off during the night. Speaking of, yes, I wore 2 patches on my blemish-prone chin for about 8 hours. I don't know that this product really caters to my needs since I rarely experience whiteheads or cystic acne, and patchy redness is more my issue. It's probably why I didn't notice much of a difference in the morning. These little stickers have excellent reviews, though, so it seems that they work wonders in absorbing the gunk in noticeable pimples.
NATURE REPUBLIC Real nature Mask Sheet (Aloe), 1.2 oz. - Value $1.65
I love aloe masks because of their cooling quality. This mask was no exception. The essence was incredibly drippy and sort of goopy, which isn't my favorite. It had a light, pleasant aloe-meets-cucumber scent. After leaving it on my face for 20 minutes, I did notice that my skin was very hydrated. I massaged the excess essence (and there was a lot of it) into my face and neck, but I found my face to be sort of sticky, so I did end up washing off most of it. Overall, this was a nice mask that would be ideal for someone with dry skin.
LEBELAGE Natural Mask (Snail), 1.2 oz - Listed Value $2.00
More of my new favorite ingredient: snail mucus filtrate! This was another super liquidy mask. I applied it while in the bath which was easy to do without a mirror (and made dripping a non-issue). My skin felt refreshed and nourished afterward, but, all things considered, I didn't love this mask as much as the ABOUT ME Snail Essential Sheet. This one was nice but not quite as form-fitting to my face as the first.
JAYJUN Rose Blossom, 1.2 oz - Value $4.00
Containing rose water and hyaluronic acid, this mask is said to brighten and hydrate. I use a rose water toning spray every morning because of its softening properties. It's been quite effective for me, so I was looking forward to trying this sheet mask. First off, the sheet itself is a lovely blush hue. When applied to my face, it looked eerily similar to my own light-medium warm skin tone. Just a tad alarming-looking. The sheet runs a bit wide and short. It's a shape that I prefer because it tends to fit my face best (I hate those really long masks that you have to sort of fold upwards in order to line the holes up with your features). This one fit my face well, and it was easy to press into my skin to remove bubbles. The essence had a surprisingly cooling effect, but my favorite part was the light floral scent. Fantastic for stress relief!
JAYJUN Multi-Vita Tone Up Mask, 1.2 oz. - Value $4.00
This mask, also from JAYJUN, "uses Vitamins C, E, B3, B5, and B6 to turn dull skin into glowing, bright skin." The sheet is made from ultra-fine cellulose fiber, so it is incredibly soft and comfortable. I used this one on a day where I noticed some extra redness in my skin since the Centella asiatica extract is supposed to calm irritated skin. The serum was quite watery, and some even made its way into my eye (but this probably had more to do with the fact that eye holes in the sheet were on the small side). After about 20 minutes, my skin was left revitalized and definitely had a newfound glow.
BLUMEI Jeju Moisture Aloe Vera Mask Pack, 1.2 oz. - Listed Value $2.00
More aloe goodness. This is another great basic sheet mask. Hydrating, moisturizing, and cooling, with a calming aloe scent. Though I did notice its softening effects on my skin, the light scent was the best part for me.
ABOUT ME All-In-One Hair Mask Cap, 1.2 oz. - Listed Value $4.00
I did this hair mask while taking an Epsom salt bath (along with the LEBELAGE Snail Mask above), which I'd highly recommend for an all-around luxuriously calming experience. Don't forget the candles, tunes, and a good book. Anyway, my hair is pretty long at about 7"-8" past my shoulders, so I was curious to see how this would work out. To my surprise, it was actually quite easy. The cap is a very generous size, and it has a sticker strip that allows you to control how tight you want to secure it along the hairline. I simply piled my hair, on the top of my head, a bit, placed the cap over my head, and pressed it into my scalp to move the product around. Most of the deep-conditioning formula is concentrated in one area of the cap, so you have to push it around a bit for even distribution. After 15 minutes and rinsing with warm water, I found that my hair was more shiny and moisturized than usual.
DR. JART+ Vital Hydra Solution, 1.2 oz. - Value $6.00
Amazing! I applied this mask at night before bedtime and looked forward to noticing its effects in the morning. An extremely liquidy thin sheet must be peeled off of its thick paper backing before carefully unfolding. The mask was short and wide, which I love. It adhered to my face nicely. Even though its smell is sort of a medicinal furniture polish scent, it didn't bother me. I actually enjoyed it. The deeply saturated mask had sort of a tingly sensation, and you could feel it working its magic! In fact, this mask provided the most dramatic result of them all. I awoke with very soft, luminous, new-looking skin.
Verdict: This was my second Mishimask box, and I'm loving it SO much. As a skincare and beauty junkie, not a whole lot beats having a pack of curated, quality masks delivered to your door monthly. And I was happy to see that this month featured a full 10 masks (Mishimask promises to deliver 8-10 monthly). I definitely had my favorites, but even the ones that rendered less impressive results were enjoyable to use. I also enjoyed the variety with a hair mask and acne patches included. The total value was about $31. For Korean skincare that's not readily available in the US, the $13.95 box cost is more than reasonable in my opinion. It puts each masks value at about $1.40. Definitely worth it. I can't wait to see what's to come in future shipments!
