Carnivore Club is a subscription box that sends a curated package of artisanal cured meats from around the world.

Each month’s box is themed around a different producer that specializes in a particular style of cured meat. Boxes feature everything from French charcuterie and Italian salumi to Spanish chorizo and South African biltong.

They also know what they are doing with packaging! Everything came in this gorgeous red box that I am tempted to keep around to repurpose!

They even get a little cheeky. I love it.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Carnivore Club

The Cost: $50 per month with a recurring subscription. (Single boxes can be purchased for $55.)

The Products: Artisanal cured meats from around the world.

Ships to: U.S. (Note that Carnivore Club also operates clubs in Canada, Europe, and the UK.)

Good to know: Carnivore Club says that all of the meats they send are cured and shelf stable for at least a month; however, they recommend refrigerating everything immediately after receipt to maintain quality and increase shelf life.

Carnivore Club includes a booklet that lists the shipment’s featured producers and details what's inside the box, with some ideas about pairings and more. This month features father and son duo  'Nduja Artisans Salumeria from Chicago, IL.

I was super excited to receive this box of deliciousness because there is nothing I love more in life than a nice charcuterie board, where meats are a must for me. I was truly selfless and shared them with my good friend Justin (the meat master who prepared all of the cuts from my Butcher Box review) and roommate Tony (taster-extraordinaire, and eater-of-leftovers).

The back of the booklet has a recipe to make using their spreadable truffle salami.

Let's get meaty!

Salame Di Manzo, 5 oz. - Value $14.67 (buy 3 chubs for $44)

There's really nothing as good as Wagyu Beef; it's mild and extremely tender. It also happens to be the most expensive beef in the world! Fancy!

This particular Japanese Beef was seasoned with thyme, black peppercorns, and Cabernet. You can really taste the tannins from the wine pop through, which makes this fantastic to pair with some juicy grapes!

Sopressata (Dolce), 5.5 oz. - Value $12.83 (buy 3 6 oz. chibs for $42)

'Nduja Artisans' soppressata comes either dolce (sweet) or piccante (spicy). I received the sweet variation, but totally would have been cool with the spicy as well!

Oooh, look at that marbling! So pretty! You can even see the flecks of pepper throughout which you can taste while devouring this mild and slightly sweet sausage.

Pepperoni (Uncured), about 5 oz. - Value $5.93 (Buy 2 lbs for $38)

You really can't mess with pepperoni. It's amazing alone, on a charcuterie board, or on your favorite pizza. The pepperoni from 'Nduja Artisans is made from Berkshire shoulder and then seasoned with top quality fennel, paprika, and cayenne

It's not too spicy at all, and actually quite mild. You can taste the fennel that they've used and isn't too salty like other pepperoni can be. This would be perfect, sliced thinly on a homemade pizza with your favorite veggies.

Chorizo, 5.5 oz. - Value $12.83 (Buy 3, 6 oz. chubs for $42)

Made with smoked Spanish pimenton, Rioja wine, and garlic, this chorizo has the perfect balance of sweet and salty!

This Spanish-style sausage has an excellent smokiness that is one of the few meats of the bunch that can stand up to a stronger cheese. We happened to snack on it with olives and pickles.

Cremosa Tartufata, 4.5 oz. - Value $19.50 (buy 2 chubs for $39)

Whoa- I love truffle anything, so this one had me salivating. As soon as I opened it, we could smell the truffles! Such a wonderful, distinct scent.

The consistency of this is like a pâté; super soft and spreadable. The flavor matched the scent of this and bursts into your mouth. We had this on toast, which when warmed almost melts it a bit, so it seeped into the nooks and crannies. Oh my Godddd.

Verdict:  Carnivore Club was a hit with the three of us! I know so many meat-enthusiasts that this would make an excellent gift for, but I'm also into keeping it all for myself. At $50 for the box, I believe I got a great value here after not only pricing it all out on their site (over $65 retail) but checking in at my local Co-op to see what similar artisanal meats go for. They kept it on the mild side across the board (understandable, not knowing the general subscribers spiciness threshold), but I would love to get spicier meats that could stand up to stronger cheese pairings!

Have you tried Carnivore Club
