Bear Naked Granola August 2017

One issue that I ran into with this box: I originally received an info card for September, but this is the August box. I reached out to customer service to confirm and they provided me the correct info card.

This month, I received Eastern Spice: honey granola, curry, peanuts, and sweet ginger organic coconut chips & Sweet Heat: chocolate granola, chipotle essential oil, dark chocolate chunks, and dried cherries.

From the packaging tape to the canister lids, there are so many cute details.

Eastern Spice, 11 0z.

This blend has a gorgeous yellow hue, so I knew that the curry seasoning would be prominent before even opening the package. The ingredients listed are curry, peanuts, and sweet ginger organic coconut chips. The granola's base flavor is honey. Upon unsealing the bag that this granola arrives in, the curry scent really hit me! This flavor profile is right up my alley -- I love Thai and Indian food! However, I don't believe that I've ever experienced their traditional ingredients in a sweet (vs. savory) snack. I was pumped to taste this unique blend!

The granola has a strong curry flavor, as you'd imagine. The peanuts and ginger bits add varied texture, and the coconut pieces add some creamy nuttiness to the mix. I first tried this granola as a snack -- I'm talking handfuls straight out of the bag --  and then poured some over my morning yogurt. It was awesome with plain greek yogurt and honey, and I've noticed that Bear Naked Custom Made Granola tends to stay incredibly crunchy. Lots of crispy clusters to enjoy. I appreciate that! Overall, this blend was a real winner.

Sweet Heat, 11 0z.

As its name suggests, this mix has some heat to it! It starts with a base of chocolate granola and chipotle essential oil, dark chocolate chunks, and dried cherries are added. I love a little spice, so I was just as excited to try this flavor as I was the first.

This is a nice spicy-meets-sweet granola. I'm not normally a huge fan of chocolate granola (more mellow flavors like vanilla or honey are preferred), but the cocoa perfectly balances the chipotle heat. I enjoyed this granola with Greek yogurt and honey as well (it's a morning ritual), and it was wonderful. Adding some berries to the mix would have been even better!

Verdict: My second curated box of granola from Bear Naked Custom Made Granola was fantastic and better than the first. The flavors are interesting, and I continue to be thrilled by the adorable packaging. Props to their design team! At $18.99 per box, each 11 0z. canister comes in at around $9. As an avid consumer of granola, that's totally worth the value... especially for such special blends. I'm looking forward to continuing to be surprised by Bear Naked Custom Made Granola's flavors to come.
