Beagle Box September 2017 Dog Subscription Box

I love the little 'people bag' that came with a sweet treat inside.

First, I lined up everything and let Jasper select the first item for review. It didn't take long for him to make his choice!

Beef Trachea Dog Chew – Value $3.14?

This didn't have a label and I had no idea what it was, otherwise I might have been more squeamish about handling it. I only figured it out after looking at photos online. Beef trachea! Ugh! At least, that was MY reaction...

Jasper of course absolutely loved it. He loves hard chews like this, and it was one of his favorite things in the box. He didn't want to sit still for me – I tried telling him to just pose next to the treat instead of attacking it as if he hadn't been fed for weeks, but that didn't work. It never does.

Etta Says! Treats To Go Peanut Butter Dog Treats, 1.3-oz vial – Value $2.49

This cute vial is full of treats made from natural, grain-free ingredients. These are meant to be little rewards for when your dog does something well.

Jasper was suspicious. I shook the bottle and tried to get him interested, but without success. What kind of creature enjoys beef trachea but not peanut butter?! Though normally he does like peanut butter; I think maybe the pieces were just too small for him.

Advance Pet Products Buffalo Jerky for Dogs, 3.52 oz. – Value $6.99

This jerky is made from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. 'Experience the stampede of goodness,' the product description says. Let's see...

It took Jasper a minute to warm up to these. He wasn't sure about them at first – I don't think he'd ever eaten buffalo before. But one led to another and before too long, half the bag was gone. If I'd known how much he'd love them, I would have set more aside for bribing purposes.

ZippyPaws Warriorz Archibald the Archer Dog Toy – Value $9.13

The great thing about this toy is that it doesn't have stuffing. If you have a dog that likes to chew, you know why this is a good thing. It's no fun picking little balls of stuffing up off the floor!

I was glad to get one smiley photo of Jasper before he tried to rip the face off this toy. He has not been successful so far.

Charming Pet Longidudes Pet Squeak Toy, Giraffe – Value $12.97

I had to laugh when I saw this giraffe in the box. Last month they sent a little pink giraffe toy that Jasper completely ignored. (However, it was greatly appreciated by a two-week-old abandoned kitten that we took in.) This month, they sent a really long giraffe toy! It has crinkly stuff inside, and multiple squeakers.

Jasper thought this was great! I waved it in the air and he jumped to try to catch it.

Shishi the cat was interested too. She kept watch over the unboxing to make sure I did it properly.

Verdict: My estimated retail value is around $35, very close to the $36 price of the box. Jasper really enjoyed this box. Usually, he gets the same kinds of treats all the time, so it's nice to be able to give him some variety and to discover new things that I might not have bought for him on my own. Jasper goes through toys and treats pretty fast, so it's convenient to have them delivered.

What do you think of September's Beagle Box? What's your dog's weirdest favorite snack?

Jasper is adorable! Great review and I loved the pictures, he doesn’t have to pose, we all like action shots too! 🙂

Dog photos are literally the only reason for me to read the dog box reviews. Jasper looks so happy to have that ninja!
