The chests are always filled with officially licensed items - and sometimes a few exclusives. Their summer themed chests keep summer in mind with each item.

Not all the teams are represented, but they are smart to offer our FIVE TIME STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS. Especially right after those BACK TO BACK WINS. Ahem.

Penguins Beach Towel - Value $13.49 (similar "vegas gold" color way available at Kmart)

I've had my fair share of Pittsburgh sports beach towels, but never a Penguins one, so I'm stoked to finally have one since hockey is the only sport I will actually watch.

There's nothing too fancy about this one. It's not too cushy, but maybe a step above a free one you'd receive at some event.

It features the current Penguin logo which is cool, even though I prefer the older, more approachable chubby Penguin. 😉

Penguins Burlap "Market Tote" Bag - Value $29.50

When you order Fanchest, you can choose one of two available genders, and I am assuming this one is unique to the "womens" version. It's a pretty large sized burlap tote bag with faux leather straps and the Pens logo on the front. I can totally see this being used as a beach bag, or a grocery bag. It would fit a whole heck of a lot of stuff and the straps seem pretty sturdy.

The back is just plain burlap.

Here's a close up of the logo against the burlap.

There is a thin cotton lining that features several pockets, including a large zippered one to keep all of your gear organized.

Penguins "Fanband" Headband - Value $9.99

Also seemingly exclusive to the women's version is this officially licensed headband made by Little Earth Productions.

It's a 50% cotton/50% polyester blend, and has an elastic band at the back so that it fits almost anyone. There is also an embroidered patch on left side.

The right side has "Pittsburgh Penguins" screened on it, and almost looks like it was recycled front a shirt, the way it sort of wraps around that band.

How does one wear a headband like this? I'm not entirely sure, but this is what I came up with. I have a teensy head, so this was kind of loose on me. I will probably end up gifting this to another fan.

Penguins Lanyard - Value $5.99? (similar at Dicks)

This is a pretty standard lanyard (heh- that rhymes) that is black on one side...

...and the Penguins marigold color on the other. I've never used a lanyard before, but they make you look kind of important, because I normally only see them used for people with "credentials". Ya know? I need to get some of those. Or I guess college students seem to have them a lot too.

There's a plastic clip so you can separate the metal clip from the rest of the strap if you need to.

At the back of the neck, there is another plastic clasp so you can snap it on and off instead of lifting it over you head.

Penguins Hockey Club Sign - Value $10

Next there's a wooden sign with a sturdy rope hanger that you can display wherever you watch the games! I can see this going up in some sort of "cave" or workshop easily. Though I suppose it's nice enough to hang in a more common area of the house like a living room if you see fit.

Here's a close up of the quality- which it pretty great!

Penguins SPF 30 Sunscreen - Value $2.55? (found comparable customizable sunscreen online)

Lastly, there's some sunscreen with SPF 30 that you can clip right on to your market tote when you head to the beach!

Verdict: I'm not sure that I'm the target demographic for these specific items from Fanchest even though I'm a Pens fan, but there is certainly a good value here since I got over $70 retail of officially licensed merchandise for a $59.00 cost. I prefer throwback merchandise and logos of the Penguins instead of what I received in this box, though I was happy to see the more yellow-y marigold color instead of the "vegas gold" that they were using for a long time. The beach towel was the best thing in my opinion. I bet if I ordered again in the winter, I'd receive things I'd use more, like a nice pom pom beanie or scarf.

What did you think of the Penguins Summer 2017 Fanchest?

Not very exciting for $59. Love hockey myself but I would be sorely disappointed in that cheap looking stuff.
