Each month’s box had a special theme. July’s theme is “Our Favorite Things.” The card lists the items in the box along with their retail value but I also received a separate paper describing the items.

One of the benefits of this box is that some items can only be found in the monthly Causes Crate. The downside of that is that if you love the product, you may not be able to get another but I see with the Causes Crate’s new website (formerly Hart’s Handmade) there will be a product refill page where you can request more of your favorite products. That is great because I need more of the Strawberry Whipped Sugar Scrub from May and I want to send some as a gift too. That stuff is a-mazing!

All products are handmade by Causes Crate so the prices listed come from the Causes Crate card insert.

Along with the name change, Causes Crate made changes to a new website and updated other items related to their subscriptions. Here are the changes:

  1. Subscribers get to choose from 4 different causes now.
  2. They are instituting a rewards program.
  3. More money from each subscription (every single month’s purchase) is going toward a cause.

I love the Causes Crate truly believes in making a difference and helping their subscribers donate too. Their website reads, “By purchasing our products you will know that you have done your part. Whether it be a donation made each month via our subscription box, or wearing that t-shirt you purchased with pride!

Matcha Green Tea Face Mask – Listed Value $25.00

This mask smells like you’d guess- matcha but also a bit minty. The consistency was a bit thinner than I thought it would be but it isn’t too liquidy. It tingles when it is on and I could see some impurities it pulled from my skin. Interestingly, the mask dries clear. I wasn’t too sure about it at first but then I saw how nice my skin looked when the mask was removed- this is great stuff!

Orange Wood Aromatherapy Room and Linen Spray – Listed Value $8.00

I love getting linen spray! And this citrus woodsy scent is going to make my sleepy time even better. I especially enjoy using these sprays when it’s too hot or cold to open the windows for fresh air.

It was a bit difficult to figure out how to use the spout on the spray but right after I received the box, Katie from Causes Crate sent a video to everyone showing them how to use it. Every time I’ve emailed them I received an answer right away. Causes Crate service is fabulous.

Essential Oil Roller - Listed Value $15.00

This oil smells a bit like patchouli and citrus to me and while I’m not typically a patchouli fan, I really love this stuff. Whoever creates the products for Causes Crate has the best nose for scents! All the products smell great.

Marshmallow Whipped Sugar Scrub - Listed Value $8.00

I’m thrilled to see this scrub in the box! I loved the May sugar scrub so much that I’d be happy to receive it each and every month. The scrub goes on smoothly, smells fabulous (as do all the Causes Crate products) and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at all. I want to marry their sugar scrub.

Verdict: I’m consistently happy with everything I receive in the Causes Crate. In fact, this box is quickly moving to the top toward the most loved position. The products are well made and the packaging and curation of the box are impressive. I loved opening the box, taking everything out and trying it – it was a treat for the senses. This box would make a fabulous gift! Everyone I know would like it.

Causes Crate promises no less than $45 dollars’ worth of products in The Biggest Box and this month they delivered $56 worth of great products for a $36 box. For the quality of the items I consistently receive, the value is excellent for me. If you are looking for a high money value box, this may not be your thing but if you want high quality, super smelling, handmade natural products, look no further and try this box!

Hi Robin! Sorry for the late response. I emailed Katie Hart and she said that due to the fact that most items are made to order, each box for a month is typically accounted for. When submit a new subscription, you will receive your box the first week of the following month.

Thanks for reading!

I was disappointed that I ordered a bee box and received a causes crate. Subscribers should have been alerted ahead of time of the change.

Hi, Sharon… The Bee Box and Causes Crate contain exactly the same things. The only thing that changed was the name. Subscribers were notified via email weeks before the transition; mainly due to the fact that we changed from one platform to another. The Bee Box gave to The Honeybee Conservancy. Causes Crate gives you the option to choose that same Cause. I assure you; there is no difference between the two. Thank you for your support.
