This month's country is Indonesia. They did a great job on the packaging here, and this booklet is extensive!

My favorite part is probably the playlist they've created to go along with the Indonesian snacks. This seems to be something that a couple boxes do now, and I am a fan.

The TopPhrase section is pretty cool too, so you can learn some basic greetings and vocabulary.

The TopTravel section tells you about different areas that would be crucial to visit on a trip to Indonesia, as well as things to do in specific places.

This section details the 7 snacks to explore this month! Let's get into it!

Astor Wafer Sticks, 5.29 oz. - Value $4.00

Beginning strong, these are a fantastic start for the box this month. I am fond of wafer cookies, and these are easy to eat a lot of. Crispy and chocolatey tubes of plenty.

Rotary Medan Style Peanuts, 3.5 oz. - Value $3.50

Well, these are interesting (she says, as she keeps robotically dipping her hand back into the bag to retrieve more). They're "Medan Style", which I am assuming is named after the capital city, located on the Northeastern coast of the island of Sumatra. It's sort of a deep-fried tasting breading that I CANNOT STOP EATING. Holy cow. Get this bag away from meeeeeeee!

Kusuka Saos Balado: Glazed Tapioca Chips in Spicy Chili, 5.71 oz. - Value $5.00

I fancy myself a chip connoisseur, so I am pleased to see these in the box. When looking at the photo on the bag, I immediately thought "Whoa. These are gonna be red and spicy!", but they are toned down in real life. There isn't an insane amount of coloring, which makes me happy, but they are pretty spicy. The tapioca glaze mentioned on the package is also a unique sweet flavor for a chip. I think the sweet and spicy do a good job of balancing each other out.

Bagelen Biscuits, 1 ct. - Value $1.16? (the booklet features a bag of 6, valued at $6.99 in their shop, but I only received a single biscuit)

Ok, so I am a little weary of this. It just looks like a super dry, crusty bun. Biting into it, I immediately taste the sweet butter that is said to be topped with, but I can't get past the crumbly dry bread. Even though this is super popular in Indonesia, this treat isn't for me.

ACS Kerupuk Casandra Tapioca Crackers, 3.5 oz. - Value $3.45

These are by far the most visually stunning snack of the gang. I've never seen a snack so lacy before! I rather like these, and they remind me of the prawn chips you can get at Chinese restaurants but are made of tapioca. The consistency is the same, and they even taste similar, though there is no fish in them!

Kopiko Cappuccino Candy, 4.23 oz. - Value $3.25

Oh gosh, I adore these! Coffee flavored candy is top notch in my book and these are no exception! Creamy and smooth, these are individually wrapped, so I can toss a few in my purse to enjoy while I'm out and about. I'm so happy they included a full-size bag!

Taro Net Chips in Seaweed flavor, 40 g. - Value $3.00

First and foremost, the shape of these chips rule. The package features a deep sea diver, reaching for the net-shaped snack. I happen to enjoy the flavor of seaweed, so these chips are A+ for me.

Verdict: I was excited to get some truly unique and obscure snacks this month! My favorite item was probably the cappuccino candies, with the sleeper being those Medan-style peanuts! I am impressed with the size of each item, most being full-size packages. The only big miss for me was that crusty biscuit, but you can't win them all. I think TopMunch does a fantastic job with presentation and a well designed and extremely informative booklet. I calculated the value to be just over $23, so I have no problem with the $22 monthly cost. Great job, TopMunch!!

I used to live in Indonesia, and this just made me crazy homesick. Oh, Kopiko…sigh. I love those. 🙂 And the biscuit…I’m shocked they sent one in the box. They’re amazing when they’re fresh, but after shipping…probably not so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the box, though…Indonesia makes some great snacks. 🙂

Whoa- how cool! Happy to know you support these snacks, and are familiar! Their shop stocks all of them, so maybe you can nudge a loved one towards it for your next birthday? 😉
