The box came with this information card detailing the items in the box.  There are also usually coupons and/or product literature.

Ugo Bars Anutter Sweet/Salty Snack Bar (51 g) – Value $2.92 (buy a box of 12 bars for $35)

This was a fairly standard nut bar. I actually didn’t think it was overly salty.  I appreciated that it didn’t totally taste like dates, which is a trap a lot of these bars fall into.

Eat Your Coffee Mocha Latte Coffee Bar (1.6 oz) – Value $2.99 (buy a 6-count for $14.99 or 12-count for $29.99)

I tried this and I was not a fan. But I am a longtime coffee hater.  Coffee was all I could taste.  My husband, a coffee drinker, noticed a chocolate flavor that was totally absent for me.

Reed’s Peanut Butter Ginger Chews (2 oz) – Value $1.10 (buy a 20-pack for $22 or 11-pound box for $36)

These were interesting. They are maybe a little less sticky than other brands of ginger chews.  They started off with a peanut butter flavor and the ginger was more apparent at the end.

Krimsey’s Cajun Kitchen Jambalaya Mix (7 oz) – Value $8 (buy a 3-pack for $23.99)

This is allegedly enough mix for four servings so we bought some black-eyed peas and some fake sausage to put with it and will have it for dinner this week. (Box arrival time does not usually coincide with dinner planning time for us, so sometimes pantry items have to wait awhile to get used.)

Solsimple Organic Mangos (6 oz) – Value $10 (buy an 8 pack of 1.5-ounce bags for $20)

This brand is new to me. These were pretty simple dried mangos. I put some out on a plate to eat, which is good because I would’ve kept eating them until the bag was empty…

Pipcorn (“cheddar,” 0.65 oz) – Value $0.81 (buy a 4 pack of 4-oz bags for $20)

The idea behind Pipcorn is that smaller kernels are used and there’s less to get stuck in your teeth. While I appreciate the sentiment, the pieces are so small that they’re actually a little difficult to eat.  For what it’s worth, this tastes absolutely nothing like actual cheese. (This flavor is sold out from the Pipcorn shop so I’ve calculated the value using a different flavor.)

Pop Chips Potato Ridges (salted, 0.8 oz) – Value $0.92 (buy a 24-pack for $21.99)

I’ve had Pop Chips before, but usually ones with more flavor. These were fairly plain, but they were oddly addicting anyway. With some dip, they would be amazing.

Munk Pack Maple Pear Quinoa Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze (4.2 oz) – Value $2.50 (buy a 6-pack for $14.99)

While I’m not a big fan of pouch snacks, Munk Pack oatmeal pouches are some of the better ones I’ve had. This was a new flavor for me. I’m much more of a fan of maple flavor these days and the whole combination worked well together.

Runa Organic Guayusa Tea (unsweetened guava, 16.9 fl oz) – Value $1.75 (buy a 12-pack for $20.96)

I have passed this on to my husband. I have had Runa tea in the past and it made the back of my throat all tingly in a way that made me immediately want to down some Benadryl, so I am staying away from Runa tea in the future.

Zumba Shake in “La Vida Mocha” (1.16 oz) – Value $2.50 (buy a 12 pack for $29.99)

Protein powders, shake mixes, etc., immediately go into my morning smoothies.  The other smoothie ingredients hid the coffee flavor enough for me to enjoy this.

Nutiva Organic Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa (0.78 oz) – Value $1 (buy 10 packets for $9.99 or a 13 oz. jar for $4.99)

I’ve had this half a dozen times before. I think individual packets is the way to go with this stuff because then you are not tempted to eat a whole jar at once. Here’s a tip, though: Don’t use this in place of peanut butter on a sandwich. Chocolate sandwiches sound good in theory, but they are actually not so fun to eat.

Spiced & Infused Popcorn in “Chipotle Taco” (1.1 oz) – Value $1.25 (buy a 12-pack for $14.99)

I think this is one of the only repeat items this month. It is a spicy, non-cheesy flavor that is fairly strong. You may not want to eat this when you are going to be around other people because it is somewhat likely to give you bad breath. But it is tasty.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $36 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Snack Box. That is one of the best values I’ve seen for this subscription. There were very few repeat items this month, but many of the brands and items were new to me. I liked almost everything (that wasn’t strongly coffee-flavored…) and the mix of items was nice, as well. (I also love the convenience of someone else choosing snacks that I will be able to eat without reading the ingredients label.) This was a really good month from the Vegan Cuts Snack Box!
