Wowbutter Samples - Value $1? (Full size available for $3.94 from Amazon [add-on item])

I've tried a lot of different nut butters, but never a soy butter. My son isn't in school yet so we haven't had to deal with any peanut allergy situations, but I appreciate that something like this exists! (Although, isn't soy also a somewhat common allergen?) Taste-wise, it wasn't exactly like peanut butter, but it was close enough and still pretty tasty on its own.

Lance Gluten Free Peanut Butter Crackers, 1 oz - Value $2.75 (Available in a box of 8 for $21.99 from Amazon)

I don't follow a gluten-free diet, but I've tried a variety of gluten-free products from Trader Joes and Aldi. These crackers were definitely just as good or better than the Trader Joe's brand that I've tried, and personally, I don't think they taste any different from the regular version. They had just the right amount of salt for me, too, and my toddler *loved* them.

Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Bakery On Main Oatmeal Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Bakery On Main Oatmeal reverse

Bakery on Main Maple Multigrain Muffin Oatmeal, 50g - Value $1 (Available in a pack of 3 boxes/18 packets on Amazon for $11.73)

I was so intrigued by this multi-grain and gluten-free oatmeal; I love maple oatmeal normally and "maple muffin" sounded amazing, plus I love multigrain anything. I found this to be a little too sweet for my personal preference, but the flavor was delicious anyway. The included flax, chia, quinoa, and amaranth must be finely ground because although I could definitely taste the different types of grains, there were no visible whole seeds or grains other than the oatmeal.

Mandy's Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins - Value $0.60 (Buy 25 for $15 from Love with Food)

This is definitely my favorite discovery this month! These were light but satisfying, and not too sweet -- and they had a delicious crunch. (Apparently, there is also a Dark Chocolate version which I have got to get my hands on!)

Madegood Chocolate Banana Granola Bar - Value $0.95 (Buy a pack of 20 for $18.99 from Love with Food)

In theory, I should like this snack: I like bananas. I like chocolate. I like granola bars. There's just something about cooked banana that I do not like, and in this case, it was a little too much for me. My toddler, however, loved this! And I do love the ingredient list and thought it was interesting that they included some veggie powder for a nutritional boost. (This is another snack that is peanut-safe for any schools that have that restriction in place.)

La Panzanella Multigrain Croccantini - Value $0.60 (Buy a pack of 25 from Love with Food)

This was a pretty basic crispy cracker. I thought these were perfect for eating with some sort of spread or dip, so I actually ended up dipping them in the Wowbutter samples - it was a great little afternoon pick me up.

Dolcetto Petites Vanilla Cream Filled Cookies - Value $0.66 (Buy 30 for $19.99 from Love with Food)

These were delicious but I'm glad it was a small packet; I could have eaten them by the handful! They reminded me of little pirouline bites and the cream filling tasted like delicious cereal milk.

Organic Crunch Dried Apple Harvest - Value $0.96 (Buy 25 for $23.99 from Love with Food)

I'm not normally a fan of freeze-dried fruit because it seems overpriced and does nothing to stave off my hunger when I'm feeling snacky. These were really good though, and live up to the "crunch dried" name - they were like eating little apple chips! This was another surprise hit with my toddler and we shared the bag as a snack one day.

Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Dill Pickle Route 11 Chips Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Dill Pickle Chips Detail Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Dill Pickle Chips Detail 2 Love With Food Tasting May 2017 - Dill Pickle Chips Reverse

Route 11 Dill Pickle Chips - Value $1.25 (Buy 12 for $15 from Love with Food)

I don't normally buy chips unless we're having a party, so these were a great treat. Unlike other pickle chips I've had, these weren't too overwhelmingly dill-y. The chips were a great thickness and crunch too - more substantial than a regular chip but not too thick like some kettle cooked brands can be.

This box also included a few cards from the brands represented, a few wine vouchers, and a Gwynnie Bee card.

Verdict: This month's Love With Food Tasting box has a value of $9.77, right around the price point of the box itself. Value about the same as the price itself is pretty much the standard for food/snack boxes that I've reviewed; the value is really in the discovery and the fun of sampling all of the things! I thought they did a good job this month of picking snacks that are great for families or would be perfect packed into a school lunch; pretty much everything that I shared with my kid was a big hit, and most of these products are available for purchase in single-serving sizes that make them easy to bring along, too.

Haha, I immediately gave away the pickle chips.

I was really disappointed to get the gluten-free crackers in the box again. If I wanted gluten-free items, I’d subscribe to the gluten-free box.

I didn’t think I was a pickle chip kind of person, but these have convinced me that I am! So good!
