Ahalo Butter Shampoo & Hair Mask samples - Value $2?

Ahalo Butter is a Japanese body care/hair care brand that was developed in Hawaii. The Rich Moist Shampoo smells amazing, lathers well, and makes my hair feel very clean. The Rich Moist Hair Mask is a repairing hair treatment that aims to give strands a glossy, luminous finish. I use it like a conditioner. After rinsing, my hair is easy to brush and silky to the touch. Both products smell amazing too! The fragrance lingers even on second-day hair.

A'Pieu Tea Tree Spot Patch - Value $0.99

These thin adhesive patches help reduce inflammation and redness from blemishes. They work best on open blemishes and can absorb excess sebum. Sadly, these patches don't work nearly as well as hydrocolloid bandage-style pimple patches (like my go-to CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch). However, they protect pimples from outside bacteria and from my touchy touchy hands, which can exacerbate the inflammation. They're also thin and inconspicuous so that I can wear them around during the day.

Skinfood Cleansing Puff - Value $2.70

This spongey puff is designed to be used in place of tissues when cleansing the skin. The description isn't very clear, though-- is this used like a makeup removing cloth or should it be used in conjunction with something like cleansing oil? I tried both ways and found that the latter is better. The puff is soft and pliable, making it easy to maneuver around the contours of my face. It's also great for washing off face masks, especially of clay or honey consistency.

WIN-Beauty-Kit-April-2017-Etude-House-Essence

Etude House Zero Sebum Oil Cut Silky Essence 10 ml/0.34 oz. - Value $2.67

This essence aims to control areas of excessive sebum, which is desperately needed for my oily skin, especially in the summer. This tube is 1/4th of the full-size product, so it's a pretty nice sample size. It applies like a gel cream and dries down quickly to a silky matte finish. It also layers well under skincare and makeup. I find that it help my T-zone look slightly less oily throughout the day, but I'd still need other products such as mattifying powder to keep my skin in check.

WIN-Beauty-Kit-April-2017-PACKage-Mask

PACKage I Love Myself Makeup Boosting Mask - Value $2.50

This cotton face mask contains an AHA complex for exfoliating properties and hyaluronic acid for hydration. It doesn't have an added fragrance, so the essence smells a little strange. I prefer this over highly fragranced masks, though. The mask fit is great and it stays moist for a long period of time. After use, the watery essence dries to a minimally tacky finish. I wore this mask after I had a bad reaction to a skincare product that I was testing. Other than deep hydration, this mask also soothed a lot of the itching and redness that resulted from the mishap.

Verdict: This month's W.I.N Beauty Kit has nice curation but low value, which is consistent with past months. Most of the items are new to me. I love the Ahalo Butter samples and I'm contemplating on purchasing full-size bottles. The total value is around $10.86, which is a few dollars short of the cost of the box. It's definitely better than last month's value, but I think it could still be higher. I've heard some people say a "finder's fee" increases the personal value of a box, which is fair. Even then, I personally would still want a box that's valued at least equal to what I paid for.

The sponge is usually used to remove clay masks.

I think I would need like 4 of those hair mask packets to cover all my hair.
