The bag came with this information card, which included directions for each product (many of the labels did not have much English so this was helpful) as well as the products’ intended effects.

tutiibag-february-2017-hair-mask

Lador Hydro LPP Treatment (150 g) – Value $2.21

This is a hair mask. I love getting such a large amount; you really get a chance to try it a few times and see if it works for you. This includes collagen and other proteins, which are supposed to help with dry and processed hair. (It also has beta carotene but I’m not sure how that is going to affect hair other than that it might help avoid UV-induced damage.) The instructions on the package said to leave it in for 25 minutes under a shower cap but I didn’t have time for that. I just used it in the shower like I would for any other hair mask and I will say, my hair is pretty soft today.

Goodal Waterest Lotus Water Cleansing Tissue (20 sheets) – Value $1.27

I like Goodal products a lot and this was no exception. I’m not one for using wipes to remove foundation, but I found this gentle enough to use as a first-pass eye makeup remover. It was about as effective at this task as other wipes. This contains lotus extract, which can hydrate (I found that to be true) and potentially control sebum production (I think I’d need to use this for awhile to see effects in that area). Lotus extract also has lots of vitamins and other antioxidants.

TheSaem Pure Natural Mask Sheet (Snail Brightening) – Value $1.89

As you might expect, this contains snail secretion filtrate and is very moisturizing (but it’s not slimy). The mask sheet was excellent – fit around my mouth and eyes perfectly and it wasn’t too drippy. This also has some “white flower” extracts that are supposed to help with brightening, but I can’t find more information (in English) on those. At any rate, you’d have to use this periodically for a few weeks to see brightening effects.

tutiibag-february-2017-scrub

TooCoolForSchool Coconut Milky Body Scrub (7g x 2) – Value $1.26

I love trying new scrubs and this was just enough for one shower. It had a lovely coconut scent and I am pretty sure the exfoliating particles were natural material based on the feel, although I tend to prefer harsher scrubs with a greater concentration of exfoliating particles. If you are looking for a gentler scrub, this could work.

It’s Skin Nail Styler Nudie – Value $1.17

You can see a swatch of this on the information card. I am not so much into nude or neutral nails – I tend to favor dark, bright colors. But, I have some sheer polishes that I think will look good if I use this as a base.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $7.80 for the February 2017 TutiiBag. Although that seems low, I want to offer a few cautions. First, the online shops linked to for most of these items are shipping directly from Korea, and I was finding shipping costs upwards of $23 for some of them. Also, wait times to receive the products can be as much as 2-5 weeks. So probably you should add at least a few dollars to the cost of each product to account for shipping costs and times. Finally, there are not consistent suppliers of some of the items in the U.S., so there is a convenience factor involved.  ou don’t want to buy something, sight unseen, from Korea, pay $20+ for shipping, wait a month to get it, and then find out you don’t like it; the subscription simplifies this aspect of things. (Alternatively, you can look for some of the products on Amazon instead of directly from Korea – the Goodal tissues there are $7.99.) So, although the value seems low, there are a lot of additional factors to consider that may increase the value of this subscription.

For my part, I am happy with the mix of items from the box. While I was familiar with some of the brands, the items were new to me, and I am thinking the hair mask is going to do some really great things for my hair.

What did you think of the February 2017 TutiiBag? Do you get any K-Beauty or Asian Beauty subscriptions?

Hmm maybe do an Amazon value lol. what the value it would be for us to buy from Amazon. Overseas
Prices are always super low

I agree a domestic value would make much more sense for comparison, but then you’d probably get the folks who started complaining because they found it cheaper elsewhere and accuse her of inflating value.

Ragan

Sometimes you just cannot find these items for sale domestically.

They shorted the shipping on mine and I had to pay almost $5 when the mailman brought it to the door 🙁

You can see they sent this as 8oz – would be interesting if someone could weigh the full package to see if that’s correct or not.

Same, except I got the TutiiBox, so I had to pay $8.95 (or something like that; it was definitely over $8). I wasn’t expecting that at all so that was a quite upsetting (especially since it was my first month with them).

The value just isn’t there for this bag which is unfortunate. I do agree with your point that there is value in being able to try new products, but it was pretty weak this month. I’m gonna stick with them for now, but I do hope next month is better than this.

Ragan, how do mask sizes work for you? I’m an overweight Caucasian woman, and I find that the K-beauty sheet masks I love seem designed for the delicate Asian faces, and some are really short in the nose/mouth configuration. 🙁

i’m an avid sheet mask user and i’ve always considered my head to be kind of on the large size (like, popsugar hats are always too small as a reference point)! i run into most sheet mask fit issues rather than any special ones due to my facial structure; i have a round face with full cheeks and that usually falls in line enough with the idea of ‘v-line’ ideal shape pushed in many asian countries. if you’re having fit issues where they feel short, it’s probably not because the mask is too small! there’s only so many nose/bridge shapes that a mask can accommodate and that’s why we end up with masks where the nose cut-out is huge or the mouth space won’t fit our mouths. either they do a standard face outline and hope for the best, or they overdo it and make it big enough for nearly two people. in my experience the best way to combat tightness across the nose/mouth section is to cut the sheet in half (this is also why i have a way better experience with 2-part masks!). that’s easier said than done with some of the more serum-saturated masks, not gonna lie, but if you can manage it, it’ll give the mask more flexibility across the other parts of your face i.e. the forehead, cheeks and jaw, letting you pull more fabric in if your nose and mouth aren’t getting covered or pull more fabric out if your cheeks aren’t fully covered.

I am a small-boned Caucasian woman (I think I also have a small head, but that may be my own perception and not based in reality, I don’t know) and most of the time, I don’t have any issues with the fit of the masks. Although I would say they are fitting me better since I lost weight last year — my cheeks are smaller now. (The picture of me below the review is old. There are more current pictures of me in the Unique Vintage reviews.)

I do like it when the little strip between the nose and mouth stays in place instead of falling and hitting my lips.

Wow… The value of this bag is really low.. I unsubscribed from this service after my first bag. Not only they don’t respond to messages in timely manner, they charge foreign fee (not mentioned anywhere btw) per transaction since this company is based out of Canada. On top of that , they are so slow to ship even though, despite being a Canadian company, they ship their bags from Brooklyn which is across the bridge from where I live, and it takes forever to receive the package..
There are far better K-beauty subscription services than this one, imho.

I don’t get foreign transaction charges. I don’t think they are a Canadian company. A WHOIS search shows an association with Shopify in Canada, but the domain is registered to an address in Brooklyn, which is where they ship from.

Once I had to change my credit card info. because my credit card number was stolen and I emailed them on a weekend and they got back to me in maybe 8 hours.

I do get the foreign transaction charge, but it’s only $0.12.
