Buff Bake Birthday Cake Protein Almond Spread (1.25 oz) – Value $1.90

I’m familiar with this spread from PrettyFit . I think Buff Bake is one of the best in terms of adding protein to nut butters (I’ve tried other brands that just aren’t as good). I don’t know that this reminds me of birthday cake, exactly, but it wasn’t too sweet to put on a sandwich, so I’m happy.

Synergee Resistance Loop Band (green) – Value $2.80

I received a different Synergee band in July. But, that was the yellow one and this is green, which is a higher resistance level, so I don’t mind the repeat. These things do wear out over time. (You can Google “resistance loop band exercises” to find some free tutorials and suggestions on how to use this.)

sweatybox-january-2017-sunscreen

Turo Skin Moisturizing Lotion + Sunscreen (3.4 fl oz) – Value $30

This is SPF 15. I do like to wear sunscreen on my arms and face every day. Because the active ingredients here are chemical sunscreens, I’m reserving this for my arms. (I once got a rash from a chemical sunscreen product and I’d rather not chance getting a rash on my face. To be fair, I haven’t had any problems so far, but I’ve only used this twice.) Because it is chemical instead of mineral, it doesn’t leave a white film. (It also contains antioxidants.) And the tube is quite a generous size!

sweatybox-january-2017-nail-wraps

NCLA Nail Wraps in “Fresco” – Value $16

I am pretty terrible at putting nail wraps on (plus I am in the middle of a 6-week break from nail polish and other nail art products as my nails are currently in poor condition). However, these are adorable – it’s hard to see, but there are little flamingos on some of them. Of all the ones I’ve ever received in subscription boxes, these are my favorite pattern.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $50.70 for the January SweatyBox. That is pretty amazing for a $10 box (a little more with shipping). Only one product was completely new to me (the sunscreen/moisturizing lotion), but that is a hazard when you have multiple beauty and fitness subscriptions. I can use everything, and I feel like this is a representative example of the types of items you’d get in this box.

I, too, got the sunscreen with an expiration date of march 2017. Shipping is also now $4.95, not $2.95. I won’t be renewing either, because the company itself doesn’t seem to put much effort in, judging by some of the items I’ve seen, as well as the lack of communication with their customers on any social media.

The expiration date on my sunscreen is 03/17. This was my second box and I cancelled after receiving it. I won’t use any of the items.

I’m open to swap the contents of my Sweatybox if someone has something I need/want. I don’t use chemical sunscreens or nail wraps.
