Buddy Biscuits in Tempting Tuna (3 oz) – Value $3.16

These are grain free and made in the USA (both important when it comes to cat toys!). My cats have had Buddy Biscuits many times before and they are always popular. These are semi-moist treats and they don’t smell too bad.

Wellness Kittles in Turkey and Cranberries (2 oz) – Value $2.69

These are crunchy treats. Madison and Monkey and Sneaky like them. I like that Monkey will eat them since he has had some urinary tract issues in the past and cranberry can help with that.  In general, Wellness is a pretty good brand, too.

Yeowww! Pumpkin – Value $9.09

This seems a little pricey for a cat toy but I actually found it selling for more from other shops. Anyway, Yeowww! toys are pretty much always worth it. My cats love them. Monkey monopolized it the day I took photos, but I caught Sneaky and Madison playing with it at other times.

Imperial Cat Candy Corn Toy – Value $5.95

Madison claimed this. He really liked it. We got another one from another cat subscription box in October (sorry, I get so many I don’t remember which one it was). I actually got some OK pictures of playing with it – the colors contrasted nicely with his black fur.

Sweet Pickles Designs Candy Corn Bowtie – Value $7

PetPack sends a lot of cat bowties from Sweet Pickles Designs. I’m pretty sure this is at least the fourth one I’ve gotten. (I also got this same bowtie from The Cat Kit last month…) If your cat will tolerate such things, these are good for a picture. But, my cats refuse to wear collars (they are “indoor only” cats) so these are of not so much use to me.

Gratuitous cat photos ahead:

I love pictures where Madison shows his tongue!

Enjoying a treat.

He really liked the candy corn toy. It was a bit easier to photograph him with than the black felt bat that was the last toy he fell in love with. (Also yeah, he wouldn’t leave the bedroom again this day.)

It is difficult to express just how much Monkey loved this toy.

He liked the treats, too, though.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten her to sit still long enough to take a photo like this.

I always like the looks on Sneaky’s face when she is going for treats.

Mr. Kitty REALLY wants to hang out in the sunny window. Like all the time. I can barely get him to do anything else.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $27.89 for the October 2016 PetPack for cats. That is the best value I think I’ve seen for this subscription yet. However, it still falls short of the price of the box plus shipping.  I am encouraged, though, at this improvement and hope the trend continues. I do feel that all the items are high quality (I could do with fewer bowties, though) and my cats like them, I think I’d just like to see one more item to round out the value of the box.

Hey Ragan, how is Mr Kitty doing? I literally only care about these to see pictures of your cute cats lmao. I could never justify spending this much money on my one girl and she wouldn’t like half the stuff in them anyway.

He is getting better. We went to the veterinary ophthalmologist yesterday and we don’t have to go back for a month (it used to be 2 weeks, then 3 weeks). Also we can discontinue one of his eye drops. He is walking around with his eyes open most of the time now (and no longer bumping into furniture).

He has stinky breath but the vet recommends against a dental cleaning in his case due to his IBD medications (which slow down healing and make him vulnerable to infection). But I have been pureeing his food with water and he drinks it. He has a good appetite and he likes to snuggle and of course sleep in the one sunny window in the house. Not bad for a 12-year-old cat with a chronic illness!

FYI that is lipstick on Mr. Kitty’s head. Don’t judge. =)

I love the lipstick!!! I foster kittens for the local shelter and while they tend to ignore all of my other house rules, the number one rule in not up for debate….Rule #1: I am allowed to kiss them on the head whenever and as much as I like.

Meanwhile I am going to have to explain to the veterinary ophthalmologist YET AGAIN that it is lipstick on Mr. Kitty’s head. That may have come up the last time we went in (three weeks ago), as well…

He and Monkey are the only ones who would tolerate such a thing. Coincidentally, he and Monkey are probably the only ones on whom it would show up.

Ragan Hi I was wondering if you could tell me where you get the scratcher pads from ??? I see the ones you have are much more wide than the ones I can find or bought. Thank you Keri 🙂
