This box came with an info card and a Target coupon good for $10 off a baby purchase of $50 or more. These are great to save for future baby boxes, or (my favorite!) use them to save on diapers and formula that you'd be buying anyway!

Skinfix Gentle Eczema Balm - 2 oz FULL SIZE! Value $18.99

This full-size item was one of my favorite in this box. I hadn't used Skinfix products before, but I loved the 0% water formula! This stuff is very thick but it warms quickly in your hands, and absorbed and hydrated well -- a little goes a long way.

My son is 18 months so he's through his baby eczema phase, but I wish I had known about this when he was a newborn! We used it on a little rash he has around his mouth from teething and it did seem to help overnight. So far it seems like a great general purpose moisturizer too, with no discernible scent and a lot of hydration power. I appreciate that it's steroid-free and nut-free as well - you never know what products your baby is going to react to.

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes – 10 wipes, Value $1.79

I love that Target threw in something for mom, too! When I traveled a lot for work, I always had pre-moistened towelettes in my laptop bag. I tried these instead of my normal nightly washing routine (Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream, which I've been using for years). The fragrance was bright and herbal, and they left my skin feeling soft the next morning.

SheaMoisture Baby Shampoo & Bath Milk - 3.2 oz, Value $2.45

We used this in our nightly bath time routine and I'm obsessed! The lavender smell is SO rich and good and it lasts all day. It turns my toddler into an walking, babbling aromatherapy treatment! When he starts throwing a tantrum, I just pick him up and smell his head and we work on calming down together.

I'm definitely buying this in the full-size when I run out.

California Baby Calendula Cream - 0.5 oz, Value $2.45

Calendula cream was also a new item for me - lots of people love it for treating baby eczema and other skin issues. This one had a very strong scent, so I hesitated to put it on my son since his skin can sometimes be a little sensitive and he doesn't have any skin problems that need treatment. (It works great for mom's dry hands though!)

The Honest Co. Wipes - 10 wipes, Value $0.99

I'm an Honest Diapers & Wipes subscriber already, so even though these are my favorite baby wipes, the last thing that I need is more of them! These travel sizes are handy for the car though. I'll probably gift these to a friend; they're definitely nice inclusions in baby gift baskets.

Dapple Pure ’n’ Clean Bottles & Dishes - 3 Oz, Value $1.49

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but I did smell the liquid and it's definitely fragrance-free. In the early days with my son, I was using a regular dish soap, and it left a terrible residue on our bottles and nipples if we weren't careful. I've since switched to a fragrance-free soap, so I'm excited to see how this stacks up with washing our sippy cups.

Plus, I love that it's travel size and airplane-ready. When I first went back to work after maternity leave, I had to travel for work, and little things like this make traveling and pumping so much easier.

Seventh Generation Coconut Care Lotion - 0.5 oz, Value $0.50?

I was interested in trying this since I do like coconut oil products, but this was my least favorite product in the box. We tried it after bath time and it just didn't absorb well, maybe because it was a little chilly or because he was still damp from the tub? I'm not sure about you, but chasing a naked toddler around the house with non-absorbed lotion all over him is not my idea of a fun evening. (The scent was nice and light, though.)

Babyganics 3X Laundry Detergent - 1 oz, Value $0.25?

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but it's a nice sample to have on hand. I use fragrance-free detergent in all our laundry so I'm interested to see how it stacks up compared to other brands.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $28. For $7, I definitely think I got more than enough product in this box - the Skinfix lotion is such a great value for that price, and the rest is just icing on top. I wish there'd been just a little more variety - like some diapering products or even food pouches to try - but I'm excited to see what Target will offer if they plan to offer this box more regularly!

What do you think of the October 2016 Target Baby Box? I know Target offers a "welcome kit" with samples and coupons if you use their Baby Registry, too -- if you've gotten one, how do you think that stacks up compared to this box?

This is the best Target box I’ve gotten in a long time. I am not a parent, but I am using all for myself and very happy with every item!

I borrowed the Shea Moisture shampoo this morning in the shower because I love the smell so much! I swear it seems like it sticks to my kid better for some reason though! Ha. The Skinfix lotion has been amazing for my hands, they get so dry this time of year.

Same here! My skin has gotten more sensitive as I’ve ‘matured’ so I’m happy to have all of these!

My youngest child is 3 and I loved this box seeing how both of us can use most of the products! I love that it wasn’t really age specific!! Really looking forward to seeing if they do something like this again! Target has put out some really great boxes!

I agree and wish I had bought this! My youngest is three, but the Skinfix more than pays for the box, and he still has bad eczema. The rest of the stuff could still be used, too, including the coupon, though $50 is a high threshold for baby stuff when you’re only using pull-ups at night.

Great review, Lacey! I am familiar with all the products as I wanted ingredient conscious and safe products for my son. But I agree the California Baby lotion is strong in scent when I got one as a baby gift. It didn’t cause any problem, so I just used it for his body and used different lotion on his face. I developed a dry patch on my wrist recently and just started using the Skinfix balm. It only has been a couple of days, but I feel less itchy, so hopefully it will go away with this. Small sizes are really convenient for travels.

I was so sad to have missed this. I must have missed it by mere seconds as it was in my cart and when I tried to purchase it, I got a sold out message 🙁 such a bummer.

I swear most of the products in this box look good enough for us adults with sensitive skin too! I would have definitely purchased this box for myself if I would have actually looked at the original post. 🙂

I totally agree – they’ve all been helpful on my dry hands now that the weather is getting colder!

I love the Shea Moisture Baby products! The one in this box is one of our favorites, and we also love the eucalyptus and African wild water mint. The smell lasts a really long time, and if you get the matching lotion, your kids become walking scent diffusers. The teachers at daycare have actually commented on that! 🙂 This Target box is probably one of the best I’ve seen (which is a bummer since I missed out!). Thanks for the great review!

Haha, walking scent diffuser is definitely an apt description! I loved reviewing this, thank you!
