This box didn’t come with an information card. That seems to be standard for this subscription. There was a card with more information on one item in the box, though (basically ad copy).

Rooted Athlete Products All Natural Deodorant in Lavender (0.35 oz) – Value $1.40

It is nice to get a deodorant sample in a stick that is actually large enough to apply effectively (I’ve received them in lip balm-sized tubes before…). Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try this because baking soda and essential oils cause me terrible underarm rashes. But in general, it is an appropriate product for this type of subscription box.

Zing Nutrition Bar in Oatmeal Chocolate Chip (0.81 oz) – Value $0.96

This was pretty small but I liked it.  (I am not all that hard to please when it comes to bars, for what it’s worth, and this was new to me.)  It had lots of nut-based ingredients and is vegan and gluten free as well as not having any dates in it (which makes it stand out from a lot of other vegan bars that are FULL of dates).

Mereadesso All-in-One Moisturizer (0.4 fl oz) – Value $28

This brand is new to me. This looks like a tiny container but  it is almost ¼ the full size and is supposed to last up to two weeks with normal usage. We will see.  I do think it absorbs well, and it is supposed to work as a moisturizer, serum, primer, and eye cream.

Injinji Original Performance Toe Sock – Value $10

A few weeks before the box shipped, subscribers got an e-mail asking for size preference (small or medium, with corresponding shoe sizes next to them). I wear a size 7 shoes so I opted for a small sock. You will sometimes get emails with product preference questions (in an earlier month, it was about a foundation shade) so there is some customization for this box, plus you are more likely to get sizes and colors that will work for you!

sweatybox-september-2016-foil-back

Here is the back of the foil packet of moisturizer. I usually just re-seal foils by folding them over and clipping them with a binder clip but this one actually had a closure!

And here are the socks on my feet. As you can see, they fit pretty well. I don’t normally like to have anything between my toes, but I gave these a chance during a workout and I think they were actually quite good at supporting my feet (perhaps not the absolute best at wicking moisture away, though). I would buy more of these because I have really needed the foot support lately.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $40.36 for the September SweatyBox. That is really good for a $10 box (about $13 if you include shipping). All the brands were new to me and all the items were useful to me. It does appear, after reviewing this box for three months, that the item with the highest value is usually a beauty item, so keep that in mind. I enjoy both fitness and beauty boxes, though, and I really ended up liking the socks more than I thought I would, so I was happy with the contents.

Shipping used to be free. I just checked and now it’s $4.95 a month per box.

What a great little $10 sub! I don’t know about the moisturizer but I’ve tried the Mereadesso BB cream from Birchbox and it was really nice.

Only small or medium sizes available for the socks? Bah humbug.

Medium covers up to an 11.5 shoe size.
