This box didn’t come with an information card but it did have a coupon for one of the items in the box.

sweatybox-july-2016-exercise

Synergee Resistance Loop Band (yellow) – Value $3.59

I have a lot of these (closed-loop) bands. If you go looking for tutorials, there are quite a lot of exercises you can do with them. I personally like side stepping or squatting with this around my ankles or knees – a good workout for the thighs. Anyway, these don’t last forever so I am glad to have a newer one. (Different colors correspond to different resistance levels, but the colors are not consistent across different manufacturers.)

Health Warrior Protein Bar in Dark Chocolate Coconut Sea Salt (1.76 oz) – Value $1.83

These have come in a lot of subscription boxes lately. They are a little gritty in the way that any products containing dry chia seeds are, but they taste pretty good and I like the balance of macronutrients.

sweatybox-july-2016-foundation

Geri G. Innocent Foundation (1 ounce, full size!) in Light – Value $38

SweatyBox contacted me and asked what shade I wanted, so no worries about getting a skintone-specific item that isn’t right for you. There are plenty of reviews online so you can find a blogger with your coloring and choose the same shade, which is what I did. This is water-based and has a matte finish, plus it has some antioxidants that should help fight free radical damage. So far it is working pretty well for me (I love trying new foundations). This brand is new to me and I am definitely looking through the mini-catalog that came in the box to see what other items I might like to try.

sweatybox-july-2016-swatch

Here is a swatch. Despite how it looks on my arm, this is a good match for the skin on my face. (Naturally I don’t pile it on my face quite that thickly…)

sweatybox-july-2016-shampoo

J.F. Lazartigue Marine Shampoo (0.34 fl oz) – Value $1.35

I am not even going to complain about getting a foil shampoo sample in a $10 box that also contained a full size $38 foundation. I am forcing myself to finish some of the (multiple) open bottles of shampoo in my shower before I try this, though. This is supposed to be safe for daily use and may be especially suitable for oily hair, since it contains green clay.

Clearista Retexturizing Gel (0.5 fl oz) – Value $8.67

I got this in a Glossybox sometime in the past and liked it. This has jojoba esters (beads) for exfoliation – no plastic microbeads. That’s great. I do exfoliate like every day so this will be gone before I know it.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $53.44 for the July  SweatyBox. That is a phenomenal value for a $10 box and I love that they found a way to include a skintone-specific item that worked for individual subscribers. I like both beauty boxes and fitness boxes so the mix of items here was perfect for me.

Wow that was a really great box for 10 dollars. I love the mix of things too. I love lifestyle boxes even though it doesnt say that… I will be looking for it now. Great review and just look at all the buzz because of of it. The name is very different and it will be remember just because of that. Maybe thats why they named it this, who knows.

I’d like to sub but are there any other months that have been reviewed?
I just can’t help it, I need to ask… Sweaty. sweaty, really? sweaty. I just can’t stop saying it in my head.

I still don’t understand why people make such a big deal about the name of this box. I noticed, from the reception the name had received on IG, this box is definitely for a higher maturity level. If you’re into fitness (this is a fitness/beauty box) then getting “sweaty” isn’t a bother.

Maria

They’ve been around for a bit, but weren’t big on promoting themselves. I did get one box from them and the items were all cruelty free ( a big plus) and shipping was free. The lack of being updated as to what was going on with my order. I may go back. Got to admit the sub name is a little unfortunate.

If I order now, will I get this box? I would love to try that foundation!

It is an interesting combination of items. There isn’t anything in particular in this box that excites me. I will continue to watch it because the value is really good. Customer service seems to be a priority.

I’m going to wait for the next review before I decide. I would have loved to receive this box.
If the next box review is good, I’ll subscribe.

Last month (my first) I got:
Manna Kadar Fantasy 3 in 1 blush- 0.105 oz, which I think is full-size. Love it!
Lord & Berry smudgeproof, waterproof eyeliner in black-full-size.
LipoLotion- small sample size
Coconut oil- sample
I don’t remember what else I got, probably food that the kids took. No fitness items. If there were coupons they must not have been very tempting because I don’t remember any.
